The radical progressive left wants to make sure that race and sexuality are the most important defining characteristics of any person in today’s society. They want everyone to be judged and viewed in terms of their race or their sexuality.
This was made perfectly clear this week when Democrat Senator Tammy Duckworth (IL) announced that she will only vote to confirm Biden nominees who are either “racial minorities” or “LGBTQ.”
It won’t matter if they’re highly qualified.
It won’t matter if they have proven themselves effective at the job.
It won’t matter if they are the very best bipartisan option.
It’s all about their race and sexuality.
She said,
“I am a no vote on the floor, on all non diversity nominees. You know, I will vote for racial minorities and I will vote for LGBTQ. But anybody else I’m not voting for.”

Specifically, she was protesting Biden’s apparent lack of Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) cabinet picks.
“There’s no AAPI representation in the cabinet. There’s not a single AAPI in a cabinet position. That’s unacceptable. President Biden will be the first president in 20 years without a cabinet secretary who is AAPI.”
Apparently Duckworth’s decision about the race and sexuality of cabinet nominees was made after “incredibly insulting” remarks Monday evening by White House deputy chief of staff Jennifer O’Malley Dillon. Supposedly, Dillon insinuated that biracial Kamala Harris, who is of Indian and Jamaican descent, should be enough AAIP representation.
“To be told that, ‘Well, you have Kamala Harris, we’re very proud of her, you don’t need anybody else’ is insulting… last night, that was the trigger for me. But multiple times I’ve heard that. And that’s not something you would say to the black caucus, ‘Well, you have Kamala, we’re not going to put any more African-Americans in the cabinet because you have Kamala.’”
But Duckworth wasn’t the only one who announced plans to approve nominees based on race and sexuality. Hawaii’s Maizie Hirono joined Duckworth’s protest for AAPI representation, saying,
“We would like to have a commitment from the White House that there be more diversity representation in the Cabinet and in senior White House positions and until that happens I will be joining her in voting on non-diversity nominees. This is not about pitting one diversity group against another. So I’m happy to vote for a Hispanic, a Black person, an LGBTQ person, an AAPI person. I’d just like to see more diversity representation.”
Really, any reasonable American person would see that confirming someone based on their skin color and their sexuality is blatantly racist and discriminatory. That’s obvious.
“The President has made it clear that his Administration will reflect the diversity of the country. That has always been, and remains our goal. The White House will add a senior level Asian American Pacific Islander liaison, who will ensure the community’s voice is further represented and heard.”
I welcome the appointment of a senior level White House liaison to the AAPI community to further strengthen our voice.
I had a productive conversation with the White House today to make clear my perspective about the importance of diversity in the President’s cabinet. https://t.co/yq2MAUXBl5

I’m curious, will that AAPI liaison also have to be of a minority sexuality group? Or was it just a one or the other kind of demand?
It’s just hard for me to keep up because the whole thing really just seems racist and I’d never even consider doing something like that. But then again, I believe people should be judged based on the content of their character rather than the color of their skin or their preferred sexual partners.
