Return to Sport - Wednesday 23 June Update

The Victorian Government, on advice from the Department of Health, has eased restrictions from the circuit-breaker lockdown for Greater Melbourne and Regional Victoria, with these measures starting from Thursday 24 June at 11.59pm.
Greater Melbourne
In line with Victorian Government health directives, basketball in Greater Melbourne will move to the ORANGE-50 REACTIVATION LEVEL, with a maximum capacity of 300 people per space* as well as a maximum group size of 50 people per court. Spectators in Greater Melbourne are allowed within venue and space limits.
Regional Victoria
In Regional Victoria basketball will operate at the ORANGE-50 REACTIVATION LEVEL, with a maximum capacity of 300 people per space* as well as a maximum group size of 50 people per court. Spectators in Regional Victoria are allowed within venue and space limits.
* Indoor Space
According to the Department of Health - Indoor Space is defined as: an area, room or premises that is or are substantially enclosed by a roof and walls that are temporary (in a physical recreational facility, food and drink facility or creative arts facility only) or permanent structures rising either from floor to ceiling or are at least 2.1 metres high, regardless of whether the roof or walls or any part of them are open or closed.
Density Quotient
Venues will be required to maintain a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm in Greater Melbourne and 1 person per 2sqm when using a COVID Check-In Marshall in Regional Victoria (otherwise it is 1 person per 4sqm).
VJBL
The scheduled Round 11 of VJBL will go ahead this Friday 25 June with fixtures already published to PlayHQ.
The VJBL Mental Health Round will go ahead this week. We want to thank all the associations, teams and families for their patience throughout this lockdown period and we look forward to seeing VJBL continue this week.
Big V
Big V will return this weekend with Round 14 to be played across 26-27 June. Please visit the Big V website for further information regarding schedules and season dates.

NBL1
NBL1 South will return this week with Round 10 to be held across 26-27 June. The NBL1 South Mental Health Round will also go ahead this week.
Masks
Masks are currently mandatory for all patrons over 12 years of age at all times indoors (state-wide) unless medically exempt. Players, coaches and referees are exempt while on court participating in an exertive role, however, must be worn while not playing and on entry and exit of stadium.
