“Stephen Odgers SC, representing Azari, told the court on Monday his client had since renounced all extremist views and his support for IS, but says he would not stand for a judge due to religious beliefs. Mr Odgers said that concession, which he did not have to make, ‘adds credibility’ to Azari’s claims of de-radicalisation.”
Odgers is right. Azari doesn’t stand for the judge because of his religious beliefs. But what are those beliefs? That a Muslim has no allegiance other than to Allah, and must not respect any earthly authority, or at least any non-Muslim one. Azari is signaling that he is not and never will be a loyal member of Australian society.
“Omarjan Azari: Convicted terrorist won’t stand for a judge despite claiming to have renounced extremism,” by Heath Parkes-Hupton, News.com.au, August 2, 2021:
A Sydney man who was jailed for planning to behead a stranger still won’t stand for a judge despite claiming he has renounced his extremist views, a court has heard.
Omarjan Azari refused to stand for Justice Natalie Adams in 2019 when she sentenced him to serve an 18-year prison term after being convicted of two separate terrorism-related plots.
His accomplice in one scheme to send money overseas to IS fighters, Ali al-Talebi, was in 2017 jailed for a maximum of 12 years after being found guilty of attempting to fund the terrorist organisation in 2014.
Both men are appealing their sentences, claiming they played the lesser role, and argue their respective sentences are excessive when compared to the other’s.
Stephen Odgers SC, representing Azari, told the court on Monday his client had since renounced all extremist views and his support for IS, but says he would not stand for a judge due to religious beliefs.
Mr Odgers said that concession, which he did not have to make, “adds credibility” to Azari’s claims of de-radicalisation.
Al-Talebi is serving at least nine years behind bars after being found guilty of three charges stemming from a meeting at a western Sydney mosque on August 6, 2014.
The NSW Supreme Court found he handed over wads of cash to Azari in the carpark of Parramatta mosque who then provided it to a contact, named M2, who was to transfer the cash to Pakistan….
Azari, now in his late 20s, pleaded guilty to the attempt to fund IS and was found guilty at trial of a plot to behead Australians and drape them with the Islamic State flag….

Convicted terrorist Usman Khan said he wanted to be rehabilitated. Subsequently he murdered two members of the “Learning Together programme at Fishmongers’ Hall in London.
“Using deception to mask intended goals” is a stated aim in the Muslim Brotherhood plan.
Judges need to be informed of this. They have no training in Islam.

Grimly spot on, Michael.
SB says
Right, they are expected to lie (if need be) according to their religion. There is nothing honest or decent about Islam.
Rob Porter says
SB – all of which tells us how stupid are Western countries that allow Muslims to immigrate. Permitting this is a precursor to endless demands and wails of victimhood – concerning which gutless Western politicians and the equally gutless media will not discuss.

There used to be a sentence in the courts called “held at the crowns pleasure”.
This meant an offender was stuck in jail till the King or Queen decided you were no loner a threat to the people. If the monarch fell off the perch while you were in there,,, you stayed till you joined them and your remains were buried under the exercise yard as a reminder to the other inmates about the true power of the law.
A great pity this still doesn’t happen as I can think of a few candidates.
Walter Sieruk says
Only a very naive person or a complete fool would believe he was not lying when he said the he “has renounced all his ‘extremist’ views.”
It’s more than likely that that he’s putting into practice the Muslim doctrine of Taqiyya which is that lies and deception are good things to do as long as the lies and deception are done for the advancement of Islam and Islam’s jihad.
That jihadist probably want so that he can scheme and then carry out further murderous and destructive actions of Islamic terrorism for Allah.
By the way , all the so called “de-radicalization programs “of useless ,no matter how well intended by the people who started such programs .
This is because those committed jihadists who are so totally to Islam with its violent and deadly jihad are also completely infected and infested with non- watered down Qu ‘ran based jihad-ism , Surah 2;919. 4:48. .9 5,111,123,123 .47:4. that no de- radicalization or de-programming will be able to turn them into peaceful and and straighten them out.
As the ancient Greek playwright ,Aristophanes ,had written ‘Even the wisest of the wise can never make a crab walk straight.”
Likewise, the philosopher ,Immanuel Kart , wrote “Out of the crooked timber of humanity no straight thing can be made.”

I suspect that most Muslims would prefer not to stand for one of our non-Muslim judges, who represents the legal authority of a hated western country, but most do stand and pretend to go along with our system. I hope they throw this maggot into jail for a long time to think about his gesture. But if he does decide to stand in a later court appearance, it will be all bullshit, just as it is for almost all Muslims. If it is not islamic, Muslims have no respect for it.

Australia: Convicted jihadi claims to have renounced ‘extremism,’ but still won’t stand for judge
………………..
Uh…right. He’s renounced those beliefs, save that Muslims do not recognize any paosition of auththority by “filthy Infidels”, nor that they ahve any right to criminalize Jihad terror, including beheading his victims.
Yet his witless lawyer believes that his murderous client has “renounced extremism”–or at any rate that is what he is telling the judge…
Walter Sieruk says
A person who actually believes that this Muslim terrorist has turned away from his violent dangerous and deadly jihadist ways would also be a person who believes in Santa Claus.
Giacomo Latta says
Mr. Odger’s problems with logic aside, Azari should be placed in a chair with restraints since he no longer needs to stand up.

PMK says
If his religious beliefs prevent him from observing the law of the land, then he should be exiled (if that is allowed in modern society) upon completion of his jail term, as he is not able to live well with others. Send him to Iran.
The judge should have also held him in contempt of court and lengthened his sentence accordingly.

If you believe him I have a bridge for sale and some beach front property for sale in central Arizona.
One also has to recognize that while we as a society fail to use execution as a punishment and think we can rehabilitate these islamic followers, they have no such restrictions when it comes to beheading us. I know its islamophobia to say they would lie or deceive us to gain freedom. Islamic extremist see us as weak. They know that if we bomb a target and it results in the death of civilians our media will blow it out of proportion. On the other hand islamic extremist murder men, women and children around the world on a daily basis and it seldom shows up in the news, why it would be islamophobia. If you are in a war you have to kill the enemy and that enemy is also their civilians population who are supporting their military. Islam has no restrictions on the death of their civilians they will fire rockets from apartment building knowing that counter attacks will result in death of civilians, which will be used as propaganda against those they attacked.
Killing, murder and violence mean nothing to the leadership of ISLAM. It’s a DICTATORSHIP.

Parramatta Mosque was where the pistol was handed over that was used in the Islamic murder of Curtis Cheng on the steps of Parramatta Police station as the public accountant was going home.
To my knowledge the Mosque has never been investigated or scrutinised and I only live about 40k away.
