My latest in PJ Media:
As the Taliban moves into Kabul and demands the unconditional surrender of the central government, Taliban commander Muhammed Arif Mustafa told CNN: “It’s our belief that one day, mujahedin will have victory, and Islamic law will come not to just Afghanistan, but all over the world. We are not in a hurry. We believe it will come one day. Jihad will not end until the last day.” The CNN “journalist,” demonstrating yet again its spectacular misunderstanding of the conflict (which, of course, is shared by the U.S. foreign policy establishment), followed that with “It’s a chilling admission from a group that claims it wants peace.” The Taliban does indeed want peace. It wants the peace that will follow the world’s submission to the hegemony of Islamic law.
Muhammed Arif Mustafa was stating plainly what the U.S. State Department steadfastly ignored for twenty years: the fact that the Taliban views itself as the exponents in 21st-century Afghanistan of a fourteen-hundred-year-old conflict, one that is as old as Islam itself. The History of Jihad details how Muslims in Afghanistan and the world over have waged this jihad without any interruption throughout that entire period, with the goal that the Taliban commander enunciated: to establish the rule of Islamic law anywhere and everywhere possible.
This imperative was often energized by grievances, but was never, contrary to State’s assumption, built on grievances alone. The Qur’an commands: “And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah.” (8:39) Some might think that because the Taliban is ending what they perceive as “persecution” – that is, the American presence – in Afghanistan, it will lay down its arms. This is once again a fundamental misunderstanding. The Taliban, and other groups like it, will fight on “until religion is all for Allah.” Within Afghanistan, this will take the form of a ferocious and merciless persecution of women who do not obey Islam’s veiling laws, and of anyone else who dares to violate the strictures of Islam in any way. And outside Afghanistan, the Taliban will do all it can to aid jihad groups elsewhere, as it aided al-Qaeda to prepare for the jihad attacks in New York and Washington on September 11, 2001.
No one in Washington or among American forces in Afghanistan ever showed any sign of understanding of this. In an interview with ABC News back in 2010, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan at the time, Gen. David Petraeus, “conceded that a successful counterinsurgency campaign could take up to 10 more years, but said he intended to stick to the 2011 drawdown date.”
There is more. Read the rest here.

Yeah, forget Dems, none of Joe’s critics are acknowledging this. Lindsay Graham still thinks it’s just their version of islam
Graham Bryant says
WHAT?
Infidel says
Shouldn’t be surprising: in 2015, Graham was at the forefront of Republicans condemning then candidate Trump for his remarks on the San Bernardino massacre, and his statement that he’d ban muslims from coming until we know what the hell is going on. This moron is essentially a version of John Bolton, but in the senate. I’m disappointed that he wasn’t primaried last year, but he did make a name for himself w/ his defense of Brett Kavanaugh, which probably changed the mind of any potential challenger
James Lincoln says
Infidel,
I just don’t get Sen. Lindsay Graham.

Frank Anderson says
James, one of many profound and inspiring teachings I received from the Jewish community that I have never heard spoken in the Christian, is that there are no perfect people. Another place that is introduced symbolically is the Masonic Checkered Pavement. I have a lifelong friend who is a multi-generation Presbyterian who is furious with me because I described a candidate that I support for office in terms of being worthy whether or not perfect.
Knowing that I am not perfect is an advantage. Knowing that I must consider others to make decisions whether or not to include them in my life demands that decisions must be made. I had one “friend” who recently died who walked a knife edge with his ways to make that decision dreadfully hard. He solved the problem by dying. Much longer story for later. I try to learn from every source, which is another teaching found in Judaism. Of course WE know I am not welcome because of my concern with islam. I still welcome them for what I learned that continues to inspire me..
James Lincoln says
Frank Anderson,
Thank you for your reply.
I, too, try to learn from every source – and I am far from perfect. I’ve learned useful things from people who have different political / religious beliefs – as well as from people that I do not even like personally.
Those things should not get in the way of learning – but they do for many people…
gravenimage says
Frank, actually most Christians I know are quite aware that there are no perfect people.
Frank Anderson says
GI, my entire adopted and birth families were Christian. On the adopted, all except my official father were Baptist. He was Methodist. My birth mother and all her family were Lutheran, Missouri Synod, which is why she submitted to over 30 years of torture and abuse. I was a good Presbyterian from 1973 until approximately 1993(?). My ex-wife was a multigenerational Episcopalian. I have spent much time in the company of Baptists and all the others.
The organized teachings that are part of Judaism, a very liturgical practice, address rules, issues and principles I never heard anywhere in the other communities. I know what I have seen and heard in 71 years of exposure. That is one of the reasons I feel brotherhood with the Jewish Jesus: Whatever else, he was a Jewish man. I find the question, “What Would Jesus Do?” most inspiring. Like Patrick McGoohan’s Number 6, I have been released from villages to make my own way. That does not make a number of people happy because they like villages. Being Number One is hard work; and not always popular!. Frank
gravenimage says
Frank, as you know all denominations of Christianity (most, certainly) teach that all people are sinners–this means, among other things, that none of them are perfect. This, of course, doesn’t mean that some Christians, just like other people, don’t act as though they should be regarded as perfect. 🙂
I have said before that I am sorry for your birth mother, and very proud of you for having rescued her. But as for Lutheranism itself, it does not teach torture and abuse, nor that anyone should have to submit to torture and abuse. I am so sorry that your mother–and perhaps her abuser–were taught that.
I used to work with a tough-minded devout Lutheran woman. She was sympathethic and had a great sense of humor, but she didn’t put up with *any* guff, and never would have put up with torture and abuse.
Frank Anderson says
GI, I was not there for 39 years. I only know what she told me of the “guidance” she received before she told the church good-bye. I do know the conditions she endured until SHE gained the self-value to demand better. My telephone call helped.
The contrast between the Jewish and Christian teaching on sin is major. Judaism teaches sin is error; of course to be avoided if possible and corrected when recognized. The guilt used in Christianity as a tool of punishment and control is not present in Jewish teaching-guilt is just another form of slavery which we do to ourselves far better than anyone else can do to us, because we know our own weaknesses and failures. Struggling with much guilt from my many failings and disappointments in life, the struggle is hard work demanding every effort to continue. That is why I am ravenous to discover and apply wisdom and inspiration from all sources. Still here. Still trying.

Much as the old comedy sketch of Carol Burnett’s “Pidgeon Lady,” who planned to be “Queen of the Pidgeon-Feeders” and rule the whole world. Her skit was a funny joke.

Question is, how many people in the U.S. will actually enjoy watching it burn?

We have seen another Saigon moment. It is very likely in my opinion that we will see another Neville Chamberlain moment where many “great minds” must face reality instead of continuing their delusions.
When Hitler broke his sham promise, that he NEVER intended to keep (according to a live witness, Reinhard Spitzy) made in Munich, and took the rest of Czechoslovakia, Chamberlain knew he was a fool. How many will face the same music next? How many will die as a result? Anyone who knows the least about islam understands its total “final, perfect, complete and unchangeable” commitment to world conquest, slaughter, slavery and war.
Frank Anderson says
Where is anyone with a corresponding total commitment to world peace, liberty and progress? How many will commit for a short time and get bored or tired? Who will stand as long as it takes? Look what happened to Germans desperate for peace who surrendered to Hitler. It can happen again. Watch Afghanistan and see. Who is NEXT?

Hy Frank,
I listened to the speech of Joe Biden and he said the American taxpayers have paid a lot for Afghanistan and they expected a positive return which has never come.
You hoped the Afghan people, as a whole, would fight to protect their right to be free from oppression. Unfortunately that didn’t happened.
It seems many Afghans helped the talibans who are Afghans themselves.
Joe Biden seemed tired and disappointed given that American soldiers died on the Afghan soil.
I am very sad for the Afghan people, but your president just said America first.
Who would blame him for this ?
Bon courage

gravenimage says
I heard that speech–Biden (or his speechwriters) are quite right in this case.
Infidel says
Yeah, Graven, I am on a different page than those who think that everything that comes out of Biden’s mouth is wrong. Just b’cos I think he’s an illegitimate president doesn’t mean that what he said yesterday was inaccurate. Yeah, he was wrong to state that he inherited the plan from Trump, when
– He changed the dates and moved it from May to September
– Trump in his interview w/ Miranda Levine said that he would have withdrawn in a phased manner based on ground conditions, and also destroyed any weaponry that they didn’t pull out of the country
But he was bang on when he implied that the Afghan army was a bunch of cowards. People can mock our troops for leaving, as many in other countries are, but let them try having foreign troops here, and then see how willing or unwilling we are to fight them
gravenimage says
Agree, Infidel. And I agree that even those who generally do the wrong thing can occasionally get things right. I try to take an objective view. There is no doubt that the withdraw might have been handled better, though.

Salut,
From where I sit, Americans have done there best to avoid the disaster.
One might say USA‘s government has betrayed its own highest principles, they forget that American, (and French … ) soldiers risked their lives in Afghanistan.
So far as I know Americans didn’t say they abandon their principles. They help people who want their assistance provided everyone fulfills his obligations.
Joe Biden said the Afghan government did not honored its commitments, it’s a tragedy for the people on the ground who care about freedom, justice and peace.
I hope they will not be left in isolation.

Kevin, MANY US and French soldiers sacrificed their lives in Vietnam, When they left there was a slaughter in both Vietnam and Cambodia. Whether communists or muslims are involved, there will be slaughters when they are left to their own.
When I look at the historical trend, if we were to live long enough somewhere in the future we could see France and the US having muslim conquerors slaughtering our children and grandchildren unless we get on with stopping them. With the uncontrolled invasion of both countries and others, it may not take that long.
I beat the lesson I take from WWII to death by repeating that good intentions lacking the endless commitment to make them real get millions of people killed. Islam has bad intentions; making no secret of them for 1400 years to conquer, kill, enslave and loot the entire world, and between 250 and 1000 million dead people to prove it. But we seem to be worn out and bored after 20 years. That’s NOTHING compared to 1400 years. My personal war with corruption started in 1982, cost me everything I had except life itself and my 2 law licenses to win one battle, and I am still fighting today without looking for excuses to quit. We quit = They WIN.
There is no liberty to triumph in islam. Long Live France. Frank

If the Afghan people are let down by their government, that still doesn’t become our responsibility. We don’t run the world, even though there are some globalists who think that we either do, or should. We should evacuate our own people as well as Afghans who worked for us (but even among them, vet them carefully so that they don’t reveal their jihadist colors once they come here), but that by no means imply that we have any obligation – moral or otherwise – to admit Afghan people simply b’cos they don’t like the Taliban
Lavéritétriomphera says

In some cases and under certain conditions we may help them. I especially think of terrorism.

Frank Anderson says
Friend Kevin, when in 1400 years has a country or society thrown off the domination of islam? Spain in 1492, plus ? ? ? Leaving those conquered to their own fate means islam gets stronger while those who resist get weaker.
Lavéritétriomphera says
Friend Frank,
Bonjour
As far as I know Donald Trump wanted to evacuate the remaining American troops from Afghanistan. If this is true, Joe Biden is simply following the path taken by his predecessor.
Viet-nam is not a good example. This country was colonized by the French during 80 years and in November 1955 Vietnam didn’t harbor “terrorists” that directly threatened USA.
In 2001 USA was at war with Talibans not with Afghanistan, and the Americans never intended to colonize the country. They achieved their main objective and it was therefore time for them to leave.
I agree with you WW2 broke out because of the negligence of the allies.
For information France and Great Britain have no confidence in Germany “Germans do what they want (I heard)” and they are trouble makers.
We think it makes absolutely non sense to exclude Russia from Europe. Moscow and Saint Petersburg are European cities.
I discuss with Turks and I regret to say, they are closer to Europeans than to Arabs and not all of them (Arabs and Turks) are Muslim.
The Muslim world cannot be compared with Hitler’s Germany. The Muslims do not agree among themselves.
The Mediterranean Muslims are, as their name indicates, Mediterraneans; and they are “loudmouths”, they fight each other, they are messy, a bit hypocrite – if you want the truth go to the opposite. But, generally speaking, they cook well.
I reiterate: Islam is collapsing. It doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

Robert Spencer summarizes the speech clearly:
“Muhammed Arif Mustafa was stating plainly what the U.S. State Department steadfastly ignored for twenty years: the fact that the Taliban views itself as the exponents in 21st-century Afghanistan of a fourteen-hundred-year-old conflict, one that is as old as Islam itself.”
The US State Department needs to call Robert Spencer and other counterjihadists intellectuals to revolutionize the understanding of the entire diplomatic corps about the incompatible goals of Islam and its barbaric methods of achieving those goals.
Islam, in simple terms, is NOT BENIGN. Islam is a vicious Death Cult and the Taliban are about as Islamic as you can get.
gravenimage says
Robert Spencer used to advise–I think it was the Obama administration that put an end to that.
Infidel says
One thing I didn’t get from his comments: did he imply that it’s the Taliban itself that will try to islamize the world, or will they imagine that it’s being done by proxy by the Left and its islamic allies throughout the west and the rest of the infidel world? Like would the Taliban be satisfied w/ the efforts of Ilhan and Rashida?
At any rate, I don’t blame them: I blame us, for not having a strict ban on any muslims living in the US, or for that matter, in any non-muslim country
Hank says
It’s more likely to be the Left-Green-Islamic Allies movement.
The Taliban commander must be wondering – how billions of dollars of military equipment was graciously left behind. The rest of us must be wondering why billion-dollar military equipment wasn’t stored or flown to a safer nearby place like non-Islamic Armenia. So much for common-sense.

Islam means surrender, not a reverence kind of submission.
In the self righteous religion of Islam it is up to any devout Muslim to assess whether others have surrendered sufficiently. If not they should surely be killed to honour Allah!
During Ramadan this year the most spectacular religious killing was at the girls school in Kabul. 65 dead just to show what some devout Muslims think of school education for girls!
Last year Ramadan was celebrated by way of a heroic attack on the Medecins sans Frontieres run maternity ward in Kabul! The impressive resumt was 18 dead women and babies. That would teach them a lesson!
The Taliban takeover of Afghanistan will be celebrated by the fighters by taking all girls of 12 years and above as wives. Local authorities have been instructed to produce lists of bridal candidates who also include widows under 45.
There are some moron governments like the Swedish who have pledged to continue their “development assistance” with their money targeted at “women’s emancipation”! So much for the world’s understanding of Islam!
The same government is committed to placate the Muslim minority in Sweden even if it aggressive and unproductive. The so-called Lutheran church in Sweden does whatever it can to make Muslims feel at home and it would never offend anyone by preaching the gospel. Although they are still “separated brothers” they are very close to the religious world diplomat pope Francis.

Why doesn’t Sweden have an agreement w/ the Taliban to give them the aid – not in cash, but in kind – and leave it to the Taliban to distribute? That will make more sense than putting their own people in danger
Also, all those muslim rapefugees who’ve flooded Sweden – particularly Malmo – can’t Sweden give them jobs of working in aid related activity and then send them to Afghanistan? Instead of blonde Christians?

As others in the Comments section have stated, the ongoing ignorance of our government and of so-called journalists about the precepts of Islam – twenty years after the atrocities of 9-11 – is nothing short of breathtaking. Yesterday, I watched Lara Logan on the Fox News channel interview a Taliban leader (it may have been this Muhammed Arif Mustafa), asking him if he would distance his group from al-Qaeda, and if not, why not. Of course, he equivocated, merely declaring that the Taliban were opposed to the “killing of civilians.” What Logan evidently failed to grasp is that the Taliban do not regard anyone who opposes them as “civilians.” She then declared, with authority, that the Taliban subscribed to a twisted or distorted (I forget which adjective she used) interpretation of both Shari’a and Islam. None of the other Fox News talking heads who were with her in the studio and on camera disagreed. I wanted to slap the idiots right through the television screen. Additionally, Logan persisted (as do so many others) in using the term “ideology” in describing the Taliban’s religious beliefs, eschewing the more appropriate and accurate
“theology,” thereby secularizing and obscuring the basis for the Taliban’s fanaticism – their destruction of the millenium-old Bamiyyan Buddhist statuary, their harboring of bin Laden, their prohibition of music, female education, and, ultimately, their retaking of all of Afghanistan and declaring it to be a new Emirate. Very possibly, the Taliban will soon go beyond this and attempt to establish a new Caliphate, creating a central religious authority which will authorize both defensive AND offensive jihad missions. Evidently, none of this is understood by Lara Logan, who, of all people, should know better, as she was sexually assaulted by a mob of Muslim men while she was stationed in Cairo during the so-called Arab Spring. She, and so many, many others who profess to keep us informed, refuses to learn, and is to be condemned for her scandalous ignorance.
Infidel says

Lara Logan is one of the reasons I gave up on Fox. If one recalls, during the Arab Spring in Cairo, she was raped at Tahrir Square, and later, wrote a book/issued a statement blaming…. not islam, mind you, but the patriarchy. This was while at CBS. Now, she’s spreading the same hogwash on Fox
Unfortunately, neither OANN nor Newsmax are on the same page as us on this issue. We need another news channel that’s unapologetically anti-islamic, on top of everything else

commonsense,
Fox News is currently compromised.
Their news anchors are apparently prohibited from talking about the stolen election or the plain truth about islam.
And they wouldn’t even run a one minute paid ad for Mike Lindell’s Cyber Symposium!

commonsense says
Infidel and Dr. Lincoln: Thanks for your replies.
It’s bleakly obvious that Fox News does not permit free commentary about evident 2020 election fraud involving the Dominion machines and the software they ran on – Lou Dobbs, on Fox Business, persisted in doing so, and suddenly found himself kicked off the air after only a few days of this. No one else on Fox dared to speak out subsequently – not even Carlson or Hannity, for all their bluster about being fearless in their reportage. Fox was unwilling to risk being sued for millions of dollars by Dominion for exposing the fraud. And no one – absolutely no one – on Fox at the present time dares to tell the plain truth about Islam, although Hannity was previously permitted more freedom to do in the months following 9-11. Gradually, a gag order was clearly imposed by Fox.
Infidel says
Hannity was always overrated and an intellectual lightweight, and his radio show was always a straight off copy from Rush Limbaugh. Tucker, otoh, was completely transformed once he started his current show in 2017. However, I made it a point that if anybody remained on FNC, they automatically lost me after last November
Anyway, the best way to follow media is to go on Rumble or YouTube and watch videos of people one trusts and believes

Fancy some random Afghans for neighbours? Well, pretty soon plebs like you and I will have quite a few, I strongly suspect. And if some of them turn out to be Taliban jihadis, well, I guess we just have to tolerate a few broken kafir eggs in order to serve up that yummy diversity omelette.
