With the Chicago Bulls’ regular season schedule release likely around the corner, two big matchups have leaked.
According to The Athletic’s James Edwards III, the Chicago Bulls will tip-off their season on the road against the Detroit Pistons. The Bulls will battle their long-time division rival on October 20th, one day after the NBA’s Opening Night. Then, two days later, Chicago will hold their home opener against the New Orleans Pelicans, per The Athletic’s Darnell Mayberry.
I’m also hearing the Bulls’ home opener will be against Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, Oct. 22. https://t.co/dGED0LTmVh

Yup, that’s right, after starting the season against this year’s No. 1-overall pick Cade Cunningham, Bulls fans will get to watch an early Lonzo Ball revenge game. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like one hell of a fun way to start off this new era. Not to mention, both the Pistons and Pelicans are franchises that have dealt with their own recent playoff drought. Chicago is in no place to take either team lightly – especially when we consider Cunningham and Zion Williamson will be on the other side – but there are definitely harder ways to begin the season.
The only problem I have with any of this is that Bulls-Pelicans did not find its way onto the national airwaves. Do better, NBA!
Anyway, while we wait for the remaining schedule to be released (hopefully tomorrow), make sure to check out the Christmas Day and Opening Week schedule here.
