Ruth Cardello was born the youngest of 11 children in a small city in northern Rhode Island. She spent her young adult years moving as far away as she could from her large extended family. She lived in Boston, Paris, Orlando, New York--then came full circle and moved back to New England. She now happily lives one town over from the one she was born in. For her, family trumped the warmer weather and international scene.

She was an educator for 20 years, the last 11 as a kindergarten teacher. When her school district began cutting jobs, Ruth turned a serious eye toward her second love- writing and has never been happier. When she's not writing, you can find her chasing her children around her small farm or connecting with her readers online.

    Another extension of the Bradfords through Clay Landon. We met Caterina clay's estranged sister and get the background on the Landon history. Lots of seedy things turn up so Clay gets Bradford and Ian on the case. They take all the bad guys out. Next on to see what Cooper has been getting up to.

    A very quick, punchy read. Some dark material but delicately touched. Old characters cameos and new characters introduced. This really is a story about the Barringtons, almost adopting Clay, who has secrets. He has no family? But his sister Catrina arrives at his office to confront him, and again n her arrival encounters Benjamin Drover. The chemistry is crackling, but the journey is delicate. Both have hurdles to clamber over, but they have and help each other. Easy to read in one sitting. An ideal escape of the toils of daily living. Is this the last of the Barringtons from Ruth?

    Have loved all the Barrington books but always felt slightly sorry for Clay as he still didn't feel like he quite fit in. Now tho that is finally changing, altho this book was mostly about his estranged sister and her finding love, he also finds his lost family of one of them so far. Can't wait to read his young brothers story next. This was sad at times but also funny and heartwarming.
