Mosaic Festival Silicon Valley 2021 highlights
The inaugural Mosaic Festival was held on October 2nd at the School of Arts & Culture at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in East San Jose. We brought together over 50 partners representing dozens of culturally-distinct communities from in and around the Silicon Valley area in a day of belonging, healing, and harmony. The program, curated by Mosaic America co-founder and VP-Programming Priya Das, included performances by Bloco do Sol, Blood Moon Orchestra, Buu Kim Tu, Calpulli Tonalehqueh, the Confederation of Ohlone People, Danny Thien Le, Dunsmuir Scottish Dancers, Ensamble Folclórico Colibrí, International Performing Arts of America, Mary Jessie Celestin, My-Linh Le, New Ballet, New Ground Theatre Dance, Opera Cultura, Opera San Jose, Parangal Dance Company, Playboyz, Inc., Ramana Vieira, Ray Furuta, San Jose Jazz, San Jose Taiko, Simorgh Dance Collective, Tabia African American Theatre Ensemble, Vân-ÁnhVõ and Xpressions Dance. Workshops included Anjali Rao, Arts Unity Movement, Jeffrey Fung, Kavita Patel, San José Museum of Art, School of Visual Philosophy, Teiko Smith and The Get Down.
