"The journey in this book isn't about finding love to heal,it's about healing to find love that will not break you down." -Ashton, Goodreads reviewer

From the Author

"Do you believe in love at first sight?"

Heremains quiet for a long stretch of time. The only sounds that fill the roomare our steady breathing and the refrigerator running on the other side of thewall. When he does answer, it makes the organ in my chest squeeze. "I want totell you yes and make a big statement about the first time I ever met you, butI'd be lying. You were on another man's arm. His wife. And no matter thenatural beauty you have, then and now, the way you've always carried yourself, always smiled at everybody no matter who they were, and brought light intothose people's lives, I was never going to look at you beyond that. Not whenyou were with him. Not when I had no right to."

My heartpounds so hard I can feel it
thumping in my ears.

Hefinishes me off with two sentences. "If love at first sight existed, there isno doubt I would have fallen deeply in it with you. No matter how wrong."

Single Dad, Divorce Romance

Single Dad, Divorce Romance
B Celeste did it again with my emotions, The realism she has written on paper was beyond. A single dad. A divorcee. A second chance at love neither knew they’d get.“Everyone needs something to comfort them through the hard times, no matter what those times are. It doesn’t matter how old you are”Stevie is trying to find herself again after her divorce and still being trapped in her love and confusion for her Ex, no one ever forgets there first love. She just moved into her new home and starting over at the age or 32 where she happens to know here neighbor as her ex-husbands old commanding officer. CO Fletcher Miller and she also happens to be his sons teacher.“I keep reminding myself that things happen for a reason. He was my first love, but that doesn’t mean he was the love of my life. Because if he were, then he would have tried harder, wouldn’t he have?”When i tell you i was tearing up in da club, I get emotional very fast and just new B Celeste was gunna have me sobbing with the chance of two people who really aren’t supposed to be together find there second chance at love was just absolutely breathtaking.“I like you Stevie. I respect you. And I’ll wait until you’re ready because I have nowhere else to be. I’m in no rush”

Make You Miss Me took me on a beautifully poignant journey of self discovery, healing, going after one's dreams and finding a love that makes us feel invincible.

Stevie honestly is one of my favorite heroines ever. She's strong yet vulnerable and her flaws are what makes her character that much more relatable. She could be me, you, or someone you love who's world has been rocked off its axis leaving them trying to move forward to something brighter ahead. I loved that Stevie bared all sides of herself showing just how resilient, brave and amazing of a woman she truly was.

Fletcher Miller was what book boyfriends are made of. Kind, patient, understanding and completely devoted to Stevie. Through all of Stevie's struggles he was the calming presence right there beside her showing through actions just how much he truly cared. His love was the kind that makes us feel invincible and capable of achieving anything we set our minds to- one that's forever and always.

Stevie and Fletcher's love story was an emotional slowburn that had my feelings all over the place. It tugged at my heartstrings, made me shed a few tears, laugh, hope and swoon hard. Make You Miss Me was a raw, gritty, and moving story that captivated me right until the last page that left me with the biggest grin.

What a roller coaster of emotions. A slow burn but it is primarily about healing and learning to love yourself. Loved how Stevie was unapologetic about she was healing and didn’t care how long it took to get over the end of her marriage. She was done dirty in my opinion. (Not by the looks of it in the beginning , but yes later on) she gave everything to Hunter. Who decided to turn around and end things. He never tried or compromised or grew up during their 12 years together. He only wanted what he wanted and essentially strung her along when he knew he didn’t want kids and she did. Then she meet fletcher, again lol. He was hunter CO. But it is like the saying those we meet who are meant to be in our lives despite it being the wrong time will always work itself out. He was the stuff of book boyfriend dreams. A little older than her (42 to her 32) and his son is in her class. And they are neighbors. Good looking, honorable and so patient. Such a gentleman, but knows how to be dirty when it calls for. Loved nicki. His mild autism and pure innocence and blunt comments were priceless gold. Loved the story and how it ended.

I adored Make You Miss Me. It was a beautiful slow burn age gap romance between a single dad and a young woman re-starting her life.

I have to say I thought I thought Stevie’s story was one way but I was actually quite surprised on Page 1 when her story became even more real and sad to me. And once you find out what her story is I think a lot of women will find it so relatable. I liked watching her find herself and realize what she deserved.

Fletcher…sweet Fletcher. Perfection. I know the author is a big Mariana Zapata fan too and Fletcher gave me Dallas from Wait For It vibes in the best way. A man who has the patience to wait for the woman he knows is for him. Fletcher would give her all the time Stevie needed because that’s the kind of man he is..loyal, steadfast and honorable. And don’t forget sexy!!!

This is slow burn but not so slow you don’t get some steam and sexy times.

Overall, just an absolutely amazing book. This is definitely a 5+ star book for me and I would highly recommend.

This is a new author for me, and I loved this book. Anyone who has gone through a divorce can appreciate Stevie's emotions. She was strong enough to take charge of her future. Fletcher was strong enough to let her grow. I'm hoping B. Celeste has written more books.

This book had all the feels and emotions…I could NOT put it down. I loved following Stevie and her vulnerability and self-love journey she went through to get to Fletcher. Although I have not experienced the same scenario as Stevie - the way this author wrote - I could identify with the panic attacks, breakdowns and joy as they were happening throughout.

There are many books I love by B Celeste, but this one has become a favourite with ease.

Watching Stevie find herself after a painful divorce was inspiring. Watching her go through the pain of dating mistakes, and omg I can’t believe I did that, to finding her forever love? Incredible.

I loved how B Celeste also represented autistic children in a positive light. As an autism mom, I know for a fact not everyone does this and I’m so grateful for it.

This book is a definite must read if you love any of B Celeste’s other books!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing story about finding happiness after a painful divorce
Reviewed in Germany on September 2, 2021
32 year old Stevie navigates the world of divorce after being married for 9 years to her high school sweetheart.
For the first time in her life, she is on a journey of self discovery and healing after coming out of a relationship that defined half her life. She slowly but surely learns to stand on her own two feet, gain confidence, love herself, go after her goals, make choices and get control of her life.

Redefining oneself after a long relationship is hard, so very hard. And the road to healing is paved with mistakes and sorrow. Stevie's struggle is very relatable, raw and emotional.

40 something Fletcher is her ex-husband's former C.O. and an amazing guy all around. They are neighbours and Stevie is his autistic son's 5th grade teacher. To be honest, Fletcher seemed out of this world to me. He was so patient, so understanding and so empathic towards Stevie's struggles. He really saw her helped her and truly loved her. He is my kind of book boyfriend, the kind that shows his love through actions not just words.

The romance between Stevie and Fletcher is really slow building. Maybe some will consider it too slow. But not me. Because that's what made it real and relatable to me. Fletcher was not meant to be the rebound but the forever.

This book touches on a lot of hard topics: divorce, autism, military life, war.
I enjoyed a lot the writing style, the amazing characters and the realistic storyline.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story.

A slow burn beautiful story with amazing character development through the transition of change and so much heart. I did have a bit of an issue with some of the truths that came about later on that had me pissed with Fletcher. It felt like lies and omissions which made it seem like his loyalties didn't lie with her first which I think was somewhat handled/explained but a bit glossed over. But overall I did love it.
