Blum's Bees #1

For Love or Honey

Rate this book
When the devil comes to town, you have to meet him head-on.
Which is exactly what I did when Grant Stone rolled into our small Texas town, driving a sports car I could fit in the bed of my truck, wearing a suit as black as his soul. He’s here to acquire mineral rights to half a dozen farms in town.
And there’s no way he’s getting mine.
I don’t make deals with the devil.
So when he challenges me to show him the small town ropes, my motivation is the prospect of seeing him make a fool of himself. He might have an angle, but if he thinks he can finagle me into endangering my bee farm, he’s got another thing coming.
Until the line in the sand is washed away.
My farm in danger. A town in upheaval. A man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
And me in the middle.
When the devil comes to town, you have to meet him head-on.
And when he sneaks into your heart, he’ll only break it.

I was the kid who stayed inside to read.

As a four-eyed nerd with a bad perm, I was no one’s dodgeball pick, but I had a lot of friends. Frodo and Bilbo, for instance. Kristy, Stacey, Claudia and the gang (iykyk). Once, in the third grade, I wrote a teen murder mystery inspired by Christopher Pike. On solving my mystery in twelve pages, I decided I was a terrible writer and should never, ever do that again.

Fortunately, I didn’t take my own advice.

I write romance for that feeling you get at the end, like you’re standing on top of a mountain with a backpack full of hundred dollar bills. I write romcoms because is there anything better than banter and grand gestures? I write because I love to create and I love words. I love books, and I love stretching my imagination. I love love, and if you do too, bring your coffee and have a seat. I think we’re gonna be friends.

I love small town romances and add in the enemies to lovers troupe, I was so here for reading For Love Or Honey. This was charming, fun, and had some fantastic characters.

Jo Blum is a spitfire. I was surprised Jo was the youngest of the Blum sisters because she seems like the boss of the group to me. She lives with her mother and sisters, all of whom are single because of the well known curse on their family. When Grant Stone comes into town determined to acquire the rights to the Blum farm, well, I don't think he was anticipating Jo. Grant is a charming guy and usually gets what he wants but Jo butts heads with him from the start.

I adored the banter between Grant and Jo. You could tell they had this major attraction, even though Jo tried to deny it. They went from enemies to not quite friends, but something more. This story was fun, but it also had a lot of feels. I can't wait to read more about the other two Blum sisters, and I would even love a book for their momma!

If you're looking for a romantic enemies to lovers story that has the greatest small town vibes, pick this one up! You won't be disappointed.
I'll tell you that I love you because I want you to know that love changed me. I'll never be the same- I'll be more, forever better because for a moment, I saw myself through you and learned who I wanted to be. Who I'm supposed to be.

The Blum sisters and the bee farmer aspect was definitely the highlight for me. I struggled with pretty much else. The writing didn’t work. It was predictable and at times cringy. I don’t know how many times Jo kept mentioning and comparing Grant’s junk to different animals and items. I get it! He’s well endowed.
I wasn’t a fan of Grant so he and Jo together didn’t do anything for me.
Jo and her sisters, Poppy and Daisy were okay but when they tried to be funny or made any reference to sex I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. It just felt forced and wasn’t my kind of humor.
Sadly this wasn’t the book for me.

4.5 'I’ll be your somebody' Stars!
ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Staci Hart hit the jackpot when she started writing small-town romance! I fell in love with her style years ago and it just keeps getting me more addicted every single time I read one of her creations. Actually, the early reviews for this book were making me even more excited and, as a consequence, I had crazy high expectations for it. Well, of course, Staci did not disappoint. She did a brilliant job with this love story and the continuation of the development for these characters we already met in previous books. Get ready because you’ll fall in love all over again!

So, For Love or Honey is Staci’s newest standalone novel but it’s very much connected to her two last releases (Bet the Farm and Friends with Benedicts). This is the love story between Jo Blum and Grant Stone, two mortal enemies who find themselves fighting against a very powerful connection as soon as they meet. Jo, her mother and her sisters live in a small town in Texas, taking care of each other and their bee farm. Enter Grant. He is a powerful (but lost) man determined to acquire the rights to various farms in town, including the Blum’s. But it’s not easy when you have to deal with strong minded women and also an explosive chemistry you weren’t expecting. What will be the result of that? What is more important, business or love?

It was a rare thing to want someone’s trust, to crave it. At some undetermined point, I’d stopped wanting hers for the contract. I wanted it for my own. I wanted her for my own.

I don’t know why I am still surprised every time I read anything by Staci, because I already know it will be amazing, but she always manages to make me feel giddy about everything happening. In For Love or Honey I have everything I love about family / small town interactions and a good enemies to lovers romance. Staci’s books feel light and emotional at the same time. She has time to give us a bit of everything and I love that. I love to really get to know the characters, to see their true selves and to see them falling in love. Jo and Grant were so great. Jo is strong, sassy and very in love with her family. Grant is focused, a bit lost and a whole lot of deliciousness. Mix that together and what do you get? An unexpected but wonderful couple. And trust me, you don’t want to miss seeing how this relationship develops and how Grant and Jo finally discover what it is to really love another person.

Having him for mine and being his was all I wanted, and I’d never known. Not until him.

Therefore, I am rating For Love or Honey with 4.5 STARS because it had every aspect that I love about a small-town romance: a great crew of characters, a lot of family interactions, a whole lot of banter, hate that isn’t really hate and a burning chemistry between the main characters. I adored Jo and Grant together. They were so surprising but as soon as they got together it was clear they were made for each other! I loved seeing how they fall in love and I cannot wait to read more about these characters, especially the other Blum sisters. Be sure to check this one out, guys!

Sometimes you just know from the first chapter that
a book is going to be magic, and For Love or Honey had that spark from the first moment Grant and Jo are on the page together.

I love Jo and the Blum sisters. Jo has gumption and protects those she loves with ferocity. She is loyal to her town and her family and will protect them at all costs. I couldn’t love her more for her beliefs, her actions and her heart.

Grant was such a lost character. My heart broke for this man, and I loved who he became with Jo, how he found a home in this small town. His transformation from slick business man to charming small town hero (boots and all) had me swooning.

Jo and Grant individually are fantastic, but together…GOD!! They had the best banter and chemistry. I lived for their conversations and the gibing as much as the intimate moments. They just had that spark.

The story was phenomenal. The romantic plot line of watching them move from enemies to lovers along with Flexion wanting their farm land was PERFECTION. It layered so much into their relationship, who they are, the evolution of them as a couple, the inevitable conflict, and the resolution. This resolution was one of my favorites. It had my heart exploding in my chest.

I love when you pick up that book that burrows into your heart, that reminds of the importance of home and love. This is one of my favorite small town worlds and stories.

"But because when I´m around you, that magic is there too. I´ve been starved for that magic my whole life, and you take it with you everywhere you go."

This is a two POV book with the POV´s of Jo and Grant.

I really loved the tension in the first half of the book between Jo and Grant, the enemies to lovers vibes were there and I really enjoyed their bickering and the little fights they had.
For me the transition to lovers happened a tad fast so the pacing of the second half of the book felt a bit slow to me at times.

Jo´s relationship with her sisters was so heartwarming, I also loved how they are all named after flowers with owning a bee farm. (Jo´s full name is Iris Jo.) I loved the Blum women, they are such badasses and are so independent.

I loved the smalltown vibes and the residents of it, but I would have loved for some sidecharacters to have more depth to them. I really liked the Bee farm, that felt like a new concept that you don´t often see with smalltown romance.

The page format of the book is a little bit weird and I definitely needed some time getting used to it. There are so many single paragrahps that it looks like when you try to max out the page count of your essay for university.

Overall it was a nice and sweet romance read and I am looking forward to giving the second book in the series a try.

I’ve been an avid romance reader for longer than I can remember, probably way before it was even appropriate. I’ve read unforgettable books, classic books, books that make me blush, swoon and smile and a whole host of other feelings and of all the books I’ve read over the years this author has written some of my favourites. I’ve had a bit of a difficult time with reading this past year, nothing has seemed to hit the spot like it normally would so to be given the chance to read this book meant even more to me than reading a five star romance normally would. Everything about this couple hit me in the heart, I believed this story, their love and I was happily swept away by this outrageously gorgeous and wonderfully romantic story. Staci Hart twins her ability to put pen to paper with a wickedly delicious style of writing and I am
wholeheartedly addicted. Low drama, fantastic heroine, drool worthy hero and a tale of falling in love that I hope will leave you as happy as I was. Leave me with this book, the characters and the bees and I’ll be one happy reader - probably forever.

I automatically click anything by Staci Hart. She has just the right take on so many things for me. What I appreciate is how she can weave real-life issues into the romances she writes. It never is too much, just enough to allow the reader to ponder and think for a moment about what was presented.

In For Love or Honey, we have a small town that has become the target of a company that wants its mineral rights.
Normally, the state would be the negotiator but in this case, it seems there are six families that own their land and rights. This is causing this company the need to bring in Grant Stone, The Closer.

Grant is a man who learned from his father that focus, control is everything. It allows the person to be in charge of himself and others. Grant cuts a figure that is hard to ignore and has a history of always getting his way. He is at the specific town hall meeting to woo the town and families to sign over their rights. What he wasn't expecting was the greeting he received from the Blum Sisters.

Nope, a warm egg to the face was not what he used to, and the fierce determination mirrored on the thrower's face was something he liked seeing. He handled this the same way he handled all things, charming, and lightly in front of the town.

Jo Blum was not going to let some suit, granted a handsome suit, bulldozer her family's honey farm that has been around for generations. She would put up a fight and hope to show this man how important this farm and all the others were to the town and life.

Oh, this is a fun read and yet, we know there is going to be a Come to Jesus Moment when everything hits the fan. The good news is that we are in the solid talented hands of Ms. Hart.

Here's to more of this small town and all the other Blum sisters.

This was cute, even though it reminds me of every lifetime/hallmark movie where a girl owns a farm and a guy from some oil company is determined to drill on her land. (Or genders switched) but I really enjoyed the author's writing style it was cute and had some twists, I truly loved the character development from Grant. The ending was perfect! All around a cute little book!

Favorite Quotes:

He began to speak, the deep, easy lilt in his voice hypnotic. When I glanced around me, everyone’s pupils could have been pinwheels— they even leaned toward him just a little. The man was a black hole.

And the town singles were flapping around in his orbit like moths. He was new, shiny, rich, and this town’s dating pool was stagnant and covered in pond scum. There were two ways to find love in Lindenbach— either you married your high school sweetheart or you left town and brought somebody back with you. So an eligible bachelor with a sports car that cost five times the town's median income would get noticed. Recently divorced, middle-aged Dolores James, who’d quit paying attention to fashion somewhere around 2002, literally adjusted her boobs— hands in the cups and everything—before sauntering over to him, lashes flapping and smile on full blast. He didn’t even look at her when she bumped into him.

I’ll be your somebody. I hadn’t realized I’d needed one until then.

My Review:

While this crafty wordsmith is a fairly recent discovery for me, every Staci Hart book I have picked up so far has been a guaranteed smirk factory with a few delectable sensual scenes hotter than a blazing furnace tucked inside. Her latest missive, For Love or Honey, continues this streak of winning word combinations with snort-worthy humor, irreverently amusing observations, and heart-squeezing and emotively insightful inner musings and revelations. I adore her clever humor, engaging storytelling, and flawed yet endearing characters. While I would never want to live in their tiny Texas town, I have whole-heartedly enjoyed my brief drop-ins with the Blum sisters.

Oh my sugary goodness! For Love or Honey is smooth and sweet, golden just like honey. My favorite of the small town books thus far, and one of my all time favs from always-delightful Staci Hart. Pure swoony romantic magic!

Staci has tackled the small town genre with the gusto and grace I’ve come to love about her writing. Back in dreamy Lindenbach, Texas, the prickly youngest of the self-proclaimed Blue bee witches goes to battle with the suited, city-boy Flexion oil rep in order to save her family bee farm, and her beloved town, from fracking. And what a delight! Enemies to lovers, witty banter, insane emotional and sexual chemistry, and SO MUCH HEART. All enhanced by the lovable small town antics, a bevy of enriching secondary characters, the coolest little bee farm on the planet, and so much small town charisma. I adored this story- Jo and Grant are truly special.

The sassy bee farmer, the ruthless oil man. Opposites attract, but they share so much emotional intensity. Both long to belong- to have purpose. Both have daddy baggage. Both feel galvanized by what they believe their role is to play in this fracking feud- and in the process, they find each other. At odds, but so perfectly matched. Their battle is equal parts and heated and humorous until it becomes so much more, and that is where this story shines so brightly. The chemistry and connection- how these two fall into each other unexpectedly, and what they discover about themselves, and their world, when they do.

For Love or Honey perfectly epitomizes what makes Staci Hart such such a lovable, and important, artistic voice- her gift in elevating the GOOD in humanity, the good in loving. Sure, for Love and Honey is entertaining- it’s wildly fun, uproariously funny, super sexy, and so sweet it could charm the stinger off a bee. On the surface, it’s everything you want or need in a feel good story- the charm, the wit, the sincerity, the captivating chemistry, all that small town goodness. But there’s always more to a Staci Hart book- the sugary center, a taste both sweet in nature but also deep in texture, just like honey. This is more than a feel good rom-com, though it certainly excels at all of that- because yet again is giving us a mirror into our humanness- the power of love and connection to help us find the BEST and most worthy parts of ourselves. The judge is gentle- but the push no less impactful. It’s a loving tug on the heart- to be open, to lift up the good in yourself, while also finding the good in one another. The kind of good that reminds us we can, and should, open our hearts to the possibility of love and belonging. To the magic we’re all capable of finding- if we just let it in. My heart overlows!

This was such a sweet enemies to lovers, dual perspective, opposites attract small town romance. When Grant shows up to Lindenbach, Texas planning to get a number of farmers to sell their farms so an oil company can frack the land, he was not prepared for just how stubborn the Blum women would be.

Right from the start Jo takes him head on, planning various humiliations in an attempt to drive Grant away. The more they hang out together though, the more she comes to realize there might be more to Grant than an evil corporate sell-out. Grant too, starts to fall for Jo and her small Texas home town, never having had a real home before or a loving family. Then his father shows up trying to seduce Jo's mother into signing over their farm and things come to a head.

I really enjoyed this steamy romance full of a cast of great small town characters. I can't wait to read the next books in this series!

Oh my lanta, I loved this book! For Love or Honey is my favorite kind of enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of laughter, lust, and angst. Is there an L word for angst? Plus, it takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone and drama takes just two seconds to reach your mama. Jo is your classic small-town girl, destined to live there forever and cursed by some small town charm. Grant is the opposite, with no real home, no real family, and a pile of money calling his name, he's just there to get signatures on the dotted line and head on his way. He's faced challenging people before, but none like Jo and the game she sets out to play with him.

There's bees, Wrangler jeans, and a whole lot of farm town hilarity as Jo and Grant go head to head to prove to one another the value of signing or not signing the docs to allow fracking on the Blum family property. These two have instant chemistry, even with all the threats they toss at one another. It's more like for love AND honey or bee stings. Grant bends to Jo, giving his best cowboy show, but along the way he falls for her and she for him. Unfortunately, like we all love in a good romance, there's a but in there and things take a turn for the worse as the secrets come out. My word did I get wrapped up in this book and of course, it's Staci, so I cried like a baby as I read. Like all of Staci's books, For Love or Honey has the most relatable characters, but for some reason I just loved this one a little bit more. I loved the Blum family history sprinkled into the romance, I loved Grant finally realizing there's more to life than money and proving oneself, and even more so, I loved true small town atmosphere Staci pulled off. Every character mattered, we got to see some of our favorites from past reads, and the drama absolutely peaked thanks to that small town feel.

For Love or Honey is an instant winner for me and it will proudly sit on my shelves and be read repeatedly. This one just feels so good.

Small town charm with a side of steam - this was cute! I love a good enemies to lovers romance and a fish out of water story is always a fun time, so this was right up my alley. The story remains light, sexy, and playful throughout, which makes it fly by. It's got humor, steam, and the heart of a small town romance. There was never a time when I LOVED it, but it's solid from start to finish - an easy, lighthearted read.

The story follows Grant, a businessman who frequently uses questionable tactics to get what he wants. When Grant meets the sexy beekeeper who is the decision-maker regarding the land he wants to acquire, he's caught off-balance. Jo is a small town girl who has no plans to fall for a city guy with ulterior motives - but he certainly does fill out a pair of jeans nicely. As the two spend more time together, Jo has to ask herself a question... why not sleep with her sexy enemy, if he's just going to leave town without what he wants anyways? The only trouble is, small town life is starting to win Grant over.

I always enjoy Hart's sexy, easy reads, and this was another fun one. It's low angst and full of humor, so the story moves pretty quickly. It'll easily read as a standalone if you're not caught up on the series, though there are appearances from several returning characters. I liked it the whole way through, but there was just something missing for me. I think it's that both characters make a bad first impression: Grant definitely seems like an unscrupulous jerk, and Jo's hatred of him is over the top. I grew to like them a lot more as the story went on. It's not long before Jo is admiring Grant's "assets," and I would've appreciated some more romantic moments - sex "without" feelings is not one of my personal favorites. But those are minor complaints about an otherwise fun read; it's just what I look for in a small town romance. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this enemies to lovers romance.

This was such a feel good, funny and swoony small town romance!
I'm so glad I gave another chance to reading Staci's books because this one was just everything I like.
Small town, enemies to lovers, sassy 'country girl' heroine with amazing family and big town shot coming to town for business but finding so much more.
Loved the banter that had me laughing out loud, so much that my kids asked me why am I laughing. The chemistry was there and just risen with every next chapter I read. And it was pleasantly steamy!
What started as a game between Grant and Jo became attraction. Both of them opening up to one another and falling in love without even realizing it. I love that he found home in her.

Valeu a intenção!!!

When I read a Staci Hart book, I almost always know what I'm going to get. I'm going to get amazing characters that have an undeniable chemistry, even if they are polar opposites and dialogue that is funny and off the charts. And I can't forget to mention THE BEST chapter titles (please take notice of them if you haven't before).

For the Love of Honey is no different. Right from the very first pages, I knew I was in love with Jo and the people she surrounded herself with. They have a love of their town and are fiercely protective of it. SO when Grant comes in trying to convince the good citizens of Lindenbach to sell their mineral rights to Flexion, Jo and her crew come out, balls blazing. Grant is the enemy and Jo and the Blum family will take Grant and Flexion down and kick them right out of their small town in Texas.

Jo Blum, her sisters and her mother are a pillar in Lindenbach. They are everything that the town stands for. They may not be money rich, but they are rich by their family, love, and their dedication to their land and farm. Jo is the one everyone looks up to, even if she is the youngest. She's strong and she is a spitfire. She is a beekeeper that is fearless. And she knows how to push buttons and get what she wants. Meanwhile, Grant rides in all gelled up and in a suit, knowing he can and will convince these people to sell. He's good looking, good at his job and knows how to make money. He's a successful schmoozer. But he's also a man that just fell into this life because of his father. Is he happy doing what he does or is this a case of little boy lost?

I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers. Set it in a small town and I'm a goner. Staci Hart took the town and made it a character along with Grant and Jo and made me fall in love with them all. Grant and Jo may be enemies working toward two different goals, but get these two together and they are dynamite. They explode right off the page. Even when sassy Jo challenges Grant to many different "small town/farm tasks", Grant seems to do well with everything that is thrown his way. He is literally good at everything and that frustrates Jo to no end. But it also intrigues her. Why not throw all caution to the wind and sleep with the enemy? After all, she likes what she sees.....

I blame the python he called a dick. I'd been dicknotized.

Will Jo and her sisters be convinced by this good looking, smooth talker? Or will this city slicker fall under the spell of the gorgeous bee keeper and the quaint town of Lindenbach??

I loved this story and am totally in love with the small town of Lindenbach and it's inhabitants. From the sassy Blums to the wise and "say what they want" elderly characters, I have fallen under the spell of Staci Hart and the world she has created. There are some pretty special characters and I enjoyed seeing Jo and Grant find their way. Especially Grant and the way he changed and saw things as the story progressed. And Grant in Wranglers? HELLO!!!

If you are a fan of small town romances with some enemies to lovers thrown your way, this is the book that will definitely peak your interest. It is filled with some lively characters that will surely make you laugh and steal your heart. And the banter between Grant and Jo?? Sizzling. Fun. Sexy. And filled with the tension that I LOVE!
4+ stars.

Staci Hart can bring out the most simple emotions with the most powerful effect and For Love or Honey is not an exception. This small town enemies to lovers romance with a swoony alpha hero and a sassy sweet heroine is the best example of feel good romance with incredible depth of feels.

The Blum sisters have been a pillar of the close knit community of Lindenbach, Texas. Specially the youngest blum, Jo. They not only run a successful bee farm, they always help the town in everything. Like their latest mission of driving away Grant Stone, the representative of Flexion oil company who is in town to acquire farms for shale. But Jo isn't selling and she will show Grant that this is not a game he can win. But when their sizzling chemistry and unexpected emotions makes everything complicated, what will Grant and Jo do?

So I am in love with Jo. ( with all Blum sisters but specifically Jo). She may be the youngest but she carries the heaviest burden. Since her father's death, she took care of her family and their farm like it's her job. She is fiercely protective of their bees and their people and that makes her a force to be reckoned with. She has a fragile heart but strong will. She is fiery and sweet at the same time. Kind. Compassionate. Loyal. And everything Grant wanted in his life but he never had. My heart aches for this man. He has a powerful ,charismatic , jaw dropping and panty melting presence. But behind this confident man lives someone who needs validation and love and acceptance. And he expected it least from the woman who considers him as enemy. The connection between Jo and Grant was epic. Beautiful. Heartfelt. Sensual. Complex. And it made sense. The enemies to lovers intensity was something else that slowly melts away as Jo understands that Grant is a good guy and not simply a power hungry and money crazy businessman. The author makes me feel the slow burn so good and My heart broke steadily as their secrets and Lies caught up to them. Jo tested Grant and in the process she fell for this gorgeous man and Grant lost everything because he couldn't hurt Jo. It was a complete package of swoony, heartwarming, sexy and angsty.

I got completely lost in For Love Or Honey by Staci Hart as she guides me through the ups and downs of a beautiful love story accompanied by some amazing characters.

4 Sweet Stars!

For Love Or Honey is the latest sweet and sexy romance from author Staci Hart.

For Love Or Honey follows the story of Jo and Grant. When Grant rolls into town, he’s perceived as the devil. His mission to acquire the mineral rights to half a dozen farms in the small Texas town Jo resides in. But, if he thinks he’s going to get the rights to her land, he’s got another thing coming. A challenge has been made and all is going to plan until the line in the sand has been washed away….

Overall, I thought this book was a quick and enjoyable read. Jo and Grant are a riot right after the bat. When Jo loves, she loves big and hard. She’s loyal to her family and will protect them at all costs. So, when Grant enters the picture, she gives him a real run for his money. With her snarky banter and Grant’s sarcastic whit, these two were a ton of fun to watch together. Despite both of these characters being incredibly stubborn, I think they balanced each other out really well. I loved the tension and chemistry that built between them. The road to happily ever after wasn’t an easy one for these two characters. They had quite a few obstacles and issues to work out along the way. I lived for the sweet and swoony moments and couldn’t help but root for these two characters.

For Love Or Honey is a fantastic small-town romance. I loved the enemies to lovers vibe to Jo and Grant’s romance and devoured their story in just a single sitting. In the end, this story delivered a sweet and heartwarming romance that left this reader with a big smile on her face.

Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope and this was the perfect book!! I loved Grant and Jo’s banter, despite how different they were, they still had some similarities and that’s why it made them so perfect. I really enjoyed their story, how Jo taught him some things about farming and the importance of family.

Jo was a badass, she always said what she’s thinking and I loved all the things she did in their farm and how involved she was in helping their town. She had a great relationship with her sisters and her mom and they really cared about their family history.

Grant was great too, he never backed up from Jo’s challenges and while at first he only thought in doing his job, at the end he realized the whole town was a big family and making money out of them was not what he really wanted to do.

They had great chemistry and every time they fought it brought them together until they couldn’t deny their attraction. I loved their steamy scenes and how Jo didn’t cared about what the rest thought of her.

It was a great story and now I can’t wait to read Daisy and Poppy’s story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Jo Blum’s family farm has been passed down from generation to generation. Jo’s a beekeeper who loves her small town, her family and most of all, bees. So when an oil tycoon Grant Stone rolls into Lindenbach wanting to buy her family’s farm, Jo’s willing to do anything to get him out of town. Even if that means killing him with kindness and pretending to be his pal. But when Jo starts to develop real feelings for Grant, her plans—and his—go right out the window.

For Love or Honey by Staci Hart is the third book in the interconnecting standalones set in the small town of Lindenbach, Texas. This was a cute & quirky romance. I really enjoyed the beekeeping aspect and Grant falling for small town life. It didn’t wow me or make me swoon, which was a bummer. I can’t put my finger on why I haven’t been loving Staci’s latest books (all in the 3-star range), but I wanted so badly to like this whole series. I think I needed more heart and less drama to feel more connected to these characters’ romance. Overall a cute small town romance that I’d recommend to fans of Staci Hart. 3/5 stars.

This was small town, enemies to lovers perfection. I love a good enemies to more story, with all the heat and the banter and this book had it in spades.

Grant Stone was the perfect evil interloper and Jo is the tiny but mighty fighter to bring him down. In the beginning it seems so black and white.

Their chemistry in and out of the bed room was AMAZING. The growing tension between them as Jo put Grant through his paces was palpable. And the banter was so witty and clever that they were tentative friends, way before I thought possible.

These two were so raw and vulnerable with each other that you couldn’t help but fall in love with Grant right along with Jo. I really wanted to give Grant a hug and a big helping of mothering. This book gave me ALL THE FEELS.

It’s a tough call, but I think this is my new favorite Staci Hart novel. Loved it!!

I received an advance copy of this book from the author and these are my honest opinions.

For Love or Honey is the perfect small town romance mix of humor and swoon worthy moments.

I loved getting to know the Blum sisters in previous books and Iris Jo definitely put up a fight for her affections. When Grant came to town he had a one track mind - to buy the Blum farm. In an attempt to get him to leave Jo puts him through a hilarious series of obstacles with no luck. Instead she found herself falling for his charms. With all their honesty towards each other they weren't honest with themselves and their own true feelings. These two were a fun couple to read and I love how they turned out.

Review: After reading Friends With Benedicts , I’ve been so excited for Jo’s story. I knew she was going to be an absolute riot, I just didn’t know how much of a joy she would be. And the Blum family and their antics had me roaring with laughter all through this book. I’m looking forward to what the other two sisters get upto, because it looks like we’re getting some interesting stories coming their way!

Jo Blum might be the youngest of the family, but she’s the one who has taken on the most responsibility. After the death of their father, Jo decided that she was going to be the one looking after the family and doing everything her father did. Which includes running the bee farm and ensuring that everyone who finds beehives in their homes and properties are safely taken care of. Jo is also a bit of a wild child, she does what she wants and she lives her life without an apology. Her family always comes first and she isn’t afraid to speak her mind. The town adores and loves Jo, even if she can be a bit much sometimes, but she doesn’t care what the town thinks because all she cares about is her family and her life.

Grant Stone is a fox. He might be a big city boy coming into town to buy up property and start fracking, but everyone can agree on one thing - he is absolutely dreamy. Actually, dreamy might be an understatement. Grant Stone is the kind of man that this small town hasn’t seen before and everyone is champing at the bit to have his attention. He’s stubborn, charming and fierce. He’s also determined, which makes everyone dislike him despite his outward appearance. He’s there for a reason and has a purpose and nobody can stop him. Grant has been groomed for this life and that’s all he’s ever known.

Jo and Grant’s first proper introduction is the best. I love how fiercely she loves her town and its people, which explains why she just launches an egg at his face and doesn’t bother to apologise. They butt heads right off the bat, because obviously the Blum property is what Grant and his client needs, but there is no way that Jo is going to make it easy for him to get his hands on that piece of land. Theirs is an enemies to lovers romance filled with sexual tension and burning hot rage; but it’s also about letting yourself go.

Grant discovers that being in Lindenbach has made him very aware of how lonely he is and the friends he has aren’t really friends at all. Seeing how much the town loves and appreciates Jo makes him also understand that what he’s doing may not be the right thing. But that doesn’t mean he backs off, if anything, Grant is willing to let Jo show him what Lindenbach and the Blum family have to offer and hope to slowly change her mind. They’re both aware that what they’re doing is going to one day lead to him trying to change her mind, but Jo chooses to ignore that and focus on what it feels like to be around Grant.

While they might dislike each other at first, I enjoyed watching Grant thaw Jo out. The banter was top notch and they connected through small things. Jo shows him how she does her beekeeper job and helping around a farm, she encourages him to shed the big city wardrobe and settle into the cowboy lifestyle - which then sends the women of Lindenbach into a tizzy because Grant Stone has an ass worth talking about for days to come. Their relationship develops so smoothly and beautifully, and it feels natural to watch them fall in love.

Their chemistry is palpable and like all Staci Hart romances, the steam is off the charts. The attraction has been there from the start - Jo can’t hide how she feels about Grant and he loves it - but when they acknowledge that attraction and choose to do something about it, things start to make even more sense. There’s some dancing, some touching, lots of kissing and then there’s that moment of them just falling into bed and never wanting to climb back out. Like I said before, I really enjoyed watching them fall in love because it was so seamless and so beautiful, I wish I could have been a fly on the wall in these scenes!

Jo’s relationship with her mother and her sister totally won me over, they’re all so close and tight-knit and I loved just how much they supported each other and leaned on each other through the good and the bad. Grant and his father have the opposite kind of relationship and every time he’s mentioned or he appears, you want to strangle him and beat him out of town. He’s that kind of toxic and infuriating. I even loved all of the supporting characters - Wyatt and Mrs. Hayak - and just seeing the town of Lindenbach again made me so happy!

For Love or Honey is a low angst romance with lots of laughs, great characters and a fantastic small town vibe. While you don’t need to read the other books in the series, it’s just good to have those on hand so you’re already familiar with this world!

Thanks to Staci Hart for generously providing me with an advance copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
