Relating to how we know something, including the methods for knowing, degrees of certainty, the dependence on or independence from language, etc. It is a premise of this project that there are more ways to know than the scientific. Or as Vine Deloria said, “It is not simply by becoming more rational that you become more conscious.” Often paired with the word ontological which relates to how something is or becomes, particularly with respect to the question of whether something can be independent of how it is known.
