My latest in PJ Media:
Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were down for hours on Monday, and the good news didn’t stop there. According to Roger Friedman’s Showbiz411, the far-Left propaganda program masquerading as a comedy show, Saturday Night Live (SNL), is suffering a ratings nosedive. Could this spell the end of “comedians” thinking that all they have to do to be funny is mock Donald Trump and his followers, and repeat Leftist talking points? Not likely, but it’s nevertheless cause for celebration.
Friedman noted on Sunday: “Despite that strong return content wise last night, ‘SNL’ is still suffering viewer apathy.”
Full disclosure: I didn’t see Saturday night’s SNL. I haven’t watched SNL since the days of John Belushi, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, and Garrett Morris. And there is a reason why I haven’t: I know that for years SNL and the late-night “comedians,” Stephen Colbert and all those guys named Jimmy and the rest of them, have assumed that ridiculing conservatives and dissent from the Leftist agenda was comedy and that they didn’t have to work any harder than that. And they haven’t. So I didn’t see Saturday night’s SNL, but I am as certain as I’ve ever been about anything that it was not really a “strong return content wise,” and could not have been, unless the entire guiding philosophy of American comedy in these latter days has been scrapped, which it has not.
According to Friedman, “last night’s Season 47 premiere had just 3.5 million viewers, which was the same for the last two episodes of Season 46 last May.” This is down from well over ten million viewers in the Belushi/Radner days, when the U.S. population was about 110 million people fewer than it is now. To be sure, there were also fewer television choices in those days, but no one in Hollywood seems to want to face the possibility that millions of people have turned off SNL over the years because they’re tired of being the butt of the joke.
Friedman appears to take for granted that what SNL offers is largely political “comedy”: “Of course” (of course?), he says, “last year at this time the election made ‘SNL’ hot, and there was huge demand for political comedy.…But the ratings last season dropped precipitously after the election was over. By January they’d leveled off to a regular ‘SNL’ rating of 4.1 million. But then, after Nick Jonas hosted on February 27th, around 500,000 fans left and never came back. Why? Who knows?”
There is more. Read the rest here.

SNL is a waist of time If I want to see something funny I’ll read about the death of SNL and powers up top that thing the show is what just a pay check support function for the net work

All the Leftist ‘comics’ do now is to calumniate conservatives. There is an approved, vigorous culture of calumny now on the Left.
Calumny is defined as false accusation of crime, misconduct, or defect, knowingly or maliciously made or reported, to the injury of another; untruth maliciously spoken, to the detraction of another; the making of false and defamatory statements about someone in order to damage their reputation.
– Middle English calumnie from Old French calomnie from Latin calumnia from calvī to deceive.

The word by savvy people is that the blackout is probably planned by Zuckerberg. The same thing happened in China, big internet blackout. Zuckerberg will talk about a cyberpandemic , virus that causes internet blackouts all the time.
Zuckerberg would want to use the internet blackouts, which were created by him,to say,”We need to make a total reorganization of the internet system”
So, they would perhaps tell computer users to download a new app obligatorily, but it would directly access all our private info, our bank accounts, without our consent. To control us.
Also, every single natural storm, hurricane, fire, will be hysterically blamed on climate change created by using coal and oil. To force electric cars and solar panels on us.Time will tell. It’s over.

Back in the Belushi days SNL had a skit, The Thing That Wouldn’t Leave.
That thing is SNL itself. And has been for more than 30 years.

What’s the matter guys? Is it tough to find anything to laugh about when we have a fake illegitimate President who nobody really wanted? Yeah I think it is, isn’t it.
I saw the season premiere the other night. There was a cringeworthy opening sketch with the world’s lamest impression of Joe Biden. Completely pointless.
Then there was a quite amusing sketch where they made fun of Jeff Bezos and his space mission (you know, about three months after everyone else did)
Other than that it was so stale it could have caused brain damage.

Poking fun at the hypocrisy of people in power packs a punch only if the target truly has values which he has betrayed. If he lacks values, his shenanigans can’t be ridiculed. They’re just so-and-so being so-and-so.
However, there may be one fruitful area left for satire: moral cowardice. The Left has alway made a show about being the brave defender of dissent; perhaps it’s time for a lot of stinging barbs to be aimed at its totalitarian heart. After years of decrying the Patriot Act (which is admittedly bad law), the Left now wishes to use it against anyone who dissents from the LGBTQRSTWXYZ agenda, or call for fiscal responsibility. But maybe this won’t work, since the people have come to expect hypocrisy and mere posturing from those in power.

I’m on WhatsApp for only family contact reasons, but I don’t touch Facebook or Instagram w/ a bargepole. I do have accounts on Gab and Gettr, but find myself rarely touching them. I do have an YouTube addiction, though, and some Rumble
Too bad that Twitter too didn’t go down yesterday

I hope the conservatives won’t fall in to the trap the left is setting up . The left is angry that Facebook is not completely under their thumb to destroy free speech in this country . I think conservatives should focus on investigating Mark for his election activities in 2020 and make sure that he is held accountable for misdeeds!

Not just that, as Steve Cortez pointed out last night, this whistleblower Frances Haugen has strong Democratic connections – worked w/ Trump impeachment lawyers, quit b’cos Zuckerburg shut down the election interference unit after Biden took office, and b’cos Facebook wasn’t censoring Conservatives enough!

”suffering viewer apathy.” Well at least we know who is responsible. Viewer apathy kinda equates to ”we suck” shouldnt it?
Maybe we should force people to watch SNL by passing a law, or get the FBI to investigate them like they do parents at school board meetings.
Something needs to be done about this tragedy.

The original 1975 Saturday Night Live cast was stellar.
Unfortunately, with rare exceptions, It’s been going downhill ever since…
