As The History of Jihad From Muhammad to ISIS explains, Muhammad led a Muslim force against the Khaybar oasis, which was inhabited by Jews — many of whom he had previously exiled from Medina. When he did so, he was not responding to any provocation. One of the Muslims later remembered: “When the apostle raided a people he waited until the morning. If he heard a call to prayer he held back; if he did not hear it he attacked. We came to Khaybar by night, and the apostle passed the night there; and when morning came he did not hear the call to prayer, so he rode and we rode with him….We met the workers of Khaybar coming out in the morning with their spades and baskets. When they saw the apostle and the army they cried, ‘Muhammad with his force,’ and turned tail and fled. The apostle said, ‘Allah Akbar! Khaybar is destroyed. When we arrive in a people’s square it is a bad morning for those who have been warned.’”
When they entered Khaybar, the Muslims immediately set out to locate the inhabitants’ wealth. A Jewish leader of Khaybar, Kinana bin al-Rabi, was brought before Muhammad; Kinana was supposed to have been entrusted with the treasure of on of the Jewish tribes of Arabia, the Banu Nadir. Kinana denied knowing where this treasure was, but Muhammad pressed him: “Do you know that if we find you have it I shall kill you?” Kinana said yes, that he did know that.
Some of the treasure was found. To find the rest, Muhammad gave orders concerning Kinana: “Torture him until you extract what he has.” One of the Muslims built a fire on Kinana’s chest, but Kinana would not give up his secret. When he was at the point of death, one of the Muslims beheaded him. Kinana’s wife Safiyya bint Huyayy was taken as a war prize; Muhammad claimed her for himself and hastily arranged a wedding ceremony that night. He halted the Muslims’ caravan out of Khaybar later that night in order to consummate the marriage.
Muhammad agreed to let the people of Khaybar to go into exile, allowing them to keep as much of their property as they could carry. The Prophet of Islam, however, commanded them to leave behind all their gold and silver. He had intended to expel all of them, but some, who were farmers, begged him to allow them to let them stay if they gave him half their yield annually. Muhammad agreed: “I will allow you to continue here, so long as we would desire.” He warned them: “If we wish to expel you we will expel you.” They no longer had any rights that did not depend upon the good will and sufferance of Muhammad and the Muslims. And indeed, when the Muslims discovered some treasure that some of the Khaybar Jews had hidden, he ordered the women of the tribe enslaved and seized the perpetrators’ land. A hadith notes that “the Prophet had their warriors killed, their offspring and woman taken as captives.”
Thus when modern-day Muslims invoke Khaybar, they are recalling an aggressive, surprise raid by Muhammad which resulted in the final eradication of the once considerable Jewish presence in Arabia. To the jihadists, Khaybar means the destruction of the Jews and the seizure of their property by the Muslims.

This mob, Hizb ut-Tahrir, are discussed quite often here in Australia. They have some kind of meeting or conference and say disgusting stuff about how Islam will take over, etc, and then there is discussion about why the hell this mob are not banned in Australia since they are banned in many other countries. Maybe this garbage reported on here will finally get them banned. I often think that the government let them continue to have their meetings and conferences and our security services keep a close eye on who attends the meetings. Maybe having them banned, and going underground, would not be such a good thing although many people out here would love to see them banned. It probably is piss weak for our government not to have banned them ages ago, but not surprising because our government tends to be piss weak on many issues.

Query, tg: What percentage of Australians, approximately, have had it with Islam and excuses for Islam? I suspect whatever this percentage is it is growing and will never recede. Ditto for here in America.
Best to you and yours over there across the Pacific pond.
tim gallagher says
I honestly wouldn’t know the percentages of Australians who have had it with Islam, Wellington. Everything that I read about other western countries, whether the UK, USA, and others, seems to be very similar to Australia. I believe that, in all those countries and Australia there are a huge number of people who are just too nice and think that they have to be endlessly tolerant and so I don’t know when those people will ever say, finally, no, we’ve have enough of this crap from Muslims, but it hasn’t happened yet. I have many left wing friends and siblings, so i can get an insight into how they are thinking on the issue. I can see a gradual change. Some years ago, They thought letting Muslims in was fine and dandy, but gradually their attitudes have changed. They have their doubts now. On this issue I am like a Hungarian. I wouldn’t let Muslims in at all, despite the fact that I do meet a few seemingly pleasant Muslims. But, to try to answer your question, I would have to say that, amazingly to me, nowhere near enough people here have woken up to islam’s nature and so most people probably would still think letting Muslims in makes sense. But, as you say, the number who are fed up would be growing. One day I hope enough people will wake up and force the government to adopt the right policies. Maybe on percentages, I guess that maybe 30% would be as tough as I am on islam. A huge number would have some doubts, but would still be soft and would be OK with letting Muslims in. All the best to you and yours in the USA.
Wellington says
Thanks for your reply, tim.
Depending on the polls one consults here in America, anywhere from some 40% are skeptical of Islam to upwheres around 55%—should be around 95% but I digress.
Of course, skepticism itself is a variable, i.e., those who think Islam, a la Tony Blair and Bush 43, has been “temporarily hijacked” to those who know, as you and I do, that Islam is rotten to the core and the “hijacking theme” is total BS.
I do believe that your 30% figure in Australia being as tough on Islam as you are (as you assuredly and your fellow Australians deserve to be) is about the same here in the USA as well.
Actually, kinda’ fascinating that during the American Revolution (1775-1783) about 1/3rd backed the Patriot cause, around 1/3rd backed the Loyalist cause (and I might add here that even though, as an American, I am glad the Americans won that war, I am very sympathetic to those like John Penn, grandson of William Penn, and proprietary Governor of colonial Pennsylvania at the time, and William Franklin, bastard son of Benjamin Franklin, and royal Governor of New Jersey at the time, who sided with the Loyalist, British cause {N.B., twelve of the thirteen Governors on the eve of the Revolution sided with the British, only Jonathan Trumbull, Governor of Connecticut, went with the Patriots—I just knew you would want to know all this, preferably while drinking a beer, and thus I provided this largely useless information to you}, did so out of understandable conviction to the British interest which, though with faults, still created the most decent empire in history. I have longed thought that while I think the entire world was better off with George Washington et al. prevailing, this in no way casts a dispersion long term over the British Empire, the greatest empire, all things considered, ever created by man. But again I digress. Sorry.
Ah, but back to the “main theme,” that being that ordinarily a third of a population really knows where the truth lies, another third directly opposes such, and another third are indifferent, waxing or waning wherever the metaphorical wind may blow. Standard fare I think and indicative of how fragile democracy and overall self-government really is.
This I know: We are in unison about Islam, a simply horrible belief system. Ah, methinks our main task is convincing more of non-Muslims of this truth.
Again, take care. Always good to have a back and forth with you. Even if we never meet I still think of you as a friend. Good-bye for now.

Tim and Wellington, the good news is that over half of Australians have a negative view of Islam–37% very unfavorable–and only 10% have a positive view of that creed:

Wellington, of course I was just guessing on the percentage of Australians who have had a gutful of Islam and Muslims. I thought you might have even more Americans who are fed up with islam, especially because of the massive 9/11 terrorist attacks. On what you were saying about the American Revolution, I did read a section on that war a while back in a book by Barbara Tuchman titled “The March of Folly”, and I found it interesting. In that book she writes about how certain governments and people with power stubbornly keep pursuing policies which are against their own interests. She says that the British should have woken up to the fact that they would drive the Americans to break free if they didn’t stop oppressing them through taxation, etc. I don’t seem to read much lately, but I usually have to wait quite a while to see my very pleasant doctor, so i was reading that section of the book a short time ago while waiting. You and I, and many other commenters here, are people who don’t have this popular jaundiced view of western civilisation. Another book I liked was “The Western Intellectual tradition” by Jacob Bronowski and Bruce Mazlish which probably helped me appreciate our western civilisation. I haven’t read that for ages but I did enjoy it. It is good to discuss things with you. gravenimage, “The Guardian” is, I believe, a very left wing newspaper, so they were probably disgusted that so many nasty, “racist” Australians would be anti-Islam. I often hear commentators I do like mention how “The Guardian” is very left wing, a bit like our national broadcaster out here, the notorious ABC.

Unfortunately, Tim, here’s a Sky News Austalia slip referencing that event–by Andrew Bolt and Spike’s Brendon O’Neil.

Note what this poster had to say:
“The two adult journalists in this video used the following words/terms/phrases/definitions:
Islamic radicals, Islamism, radicalized, hate preacher, radical Islamist, Islamic radicalism, radical Islam, death cult (in the brand he was following), religious extremist, and also erroneously ascribed the chant to Qur’an.
The problem, gents, is your ignorance of the subject and your own failure to define the actual problem: Islam.
To be clear: there is no Qur’an lite for squeamish moderate Muslims.”
It’s the same here in the U.S.–politicians and so-called journalists who tap dance aroung the true issue: Islam.
tim gallagher says
Thanks for that video, PRCS. I often watch Andrew Bolt’s program but missed that night. I have to say that I have admired Andrew Bolt, who is, I can assure you, one of the most fearless of our journalists, for a long time. I also am a fan of Brendan O’Neill who I often hear and see being interviewed. Compared to most journalists, both these men are pretty courageous. I get what you mean about how they aren’t saying that it is the whole of islam that is the problem. Probably, here in Australia, no one would be allowed to say that. I do know that Andrew Bolt and his family did have to be moved out of their home a few years back because Muslims had threatened to kill him. Bolt is hated by huge numbers of left wingers and Muslims out here for speaking the truth to some degree at least. To my mind, Bolt is one of the most courageous journalists we have out here. But, you are right, PRCS, even people like Bolt and O”Neill can’t speak the truth, or possibly don’t know it. Nevertheless, they are far better than most journalists out here, and, in O’Neill’s case, in the UK.

This is really distressing and frightening.
However, what is more heartbreaking is that the governments all over the world, rather than confronting this outrage, are seeking compromises that are in tune of “dhimmitude”. Indeed after more than a thousand years of fighting Islam, we seem now to be resigned as Dhimmies. We seek to please them, even when not asked or required to do so, in order to be recognised as promoters of their (hate) philosophy.
This would be the end of civilization.
There is mention in the Bhagawat Geeta that those who accept evil and do not fight it are more guilty than those who inflict evil.
Hank says
Unfortunately, this alien 5th column will continue to grow as long as you have the cycle of foolish citizens voting for politicians who are “useful idiots” of Islam. There was never anything Islamic in Australia until it was invited in and created by Islam’s “useful idiots” at the top. Unless the suicidal cycle is broken a civil war is inevitable for gullible non-Muslim host nations.
Politicians need to launch real-world repatriation routes back to Islamic host countries or Islamic home countries.
The Lemon Tree says
Yes, it’s remarkable that within living memory Australia was populated mainly by Catholics, Protestants (with innumerable sub-divisions) and (subterranean) Freemasons. It was even OK to be an atheist and Hawke stated that he was just that even before he was elected Prime Minister (he also boasted that he was heterosexual and yes that was no obstacle), But you wouldn’t really know (or care) who was what because nobody walked around with funny headgear proclaiming “their faith”. But now in just a few years we have country and society on nervous tippy-toes, too scared to say anything to or about the swarms of women in hijabs we see moving through our cities. These hijabs are the tokens of the cultural blackmail which is being forced on the majority. And a facilitator, unintended, of that blackmail is the ubiquitous smartphone -the majority have gone quiet and dare not say a word in public because these hijabis will quick as a flash bring out their thousand-dollar camera-ready golden quad-chip phones from within the folds of in their Dark Ages attire.
There is no hope.
