In August, German humanitarian development worker Sybille Schnehage “predicted as many as three million Afghan asylum seekers could head to Europe in the near future,” and Bulgaria is just one of many EU countries facing the influx. In Bulgaria, Islam is the second largest religion after Christianity, and Muslims make up 7.8% of the population.
The open welcome at the height of the Syrian crisis of 2015 sent a signal to every possible migrant — from the innocent refugee to the economic migrant to the jihadist. But now, given the chaos that has turned once-peaceful countries into security risks for citizens and vastly increased the taxpayer burden, many EU countries have learned a lesson. Twelve EU countries recently requested money from the EU to build border walls. Although the request was rejected, many of these countries have already built the walls anyway.
Even Turkey, which has facilitated Muslim migration into the EU, has blocked migrants from its own country. Erdogan has fortified over 600 miles of Turkey’s land border with walls to keep out Afghans.
Lithuania, Poland and Hungary have already erected walls to keep out illegal migrants, while Denmark plans to begin undoing the immigration policy of its predecessors, with a goal of deporting up to 35,000 migrants by 2030. Despite Erdogan’s frequent accusations about the West being “Islamophobic,” his security agents have been shooting at migrants to keep them out since 2016.
More EU countries are becoming resolute in protecting their borders from the unvetted Muslim migrants who are arriving from Afghanistan. Taliban jihadis are feared to be among them, just as has happened so many times before. French authorities have already identified five Afghan “refugees” as Taliban members.
Given the incompatibility of mainstream Islam (and Sharia) with the disbelieving West, trouble is in the offing.
“Bulgaria tries to stem migrant flows,” Ekathimerini, November 1, 2021:
Bulgaria sent 350 troops to its border with Turkey Monday to support police due to growing pressure of migrant flows, Defense Minister Georgi Panayotov said.
“From today, Monday, soldiers at the Bulgarian-Turkish border will support the border police. 350 people have been sent along with about 40 units of equipment, he said in an interview with bTV.
More than 6,500 people who entered the country illegally, mostly Afghans, were arrested in Bulgaria from January to September, more than three times the number in 2020, according to the Interior Ministry.
Bulgaria is on the route of migrants and refugees who want to reach Europe. A barbed wire, damaged in many places, covers the 259-km long Bulgarian-Turkish border.
Parliament had decided in August to send 400 to 700 troops to Bulgaria’s borders with Turkey and Greece to help build fences.
The poorest EU member, Bulgaria has never accepted large numbers of asylum seekers, most of whom leave the country before even receiving an answer about their refugee status.

Yogi, Bulgaria has already constucted over 90 miles of border wall so far.

Good for Bulgaria! If they and Greece build a tall wall along the Thrace border, and ensure that no maritime immigrants can do it either, they can at least save their part of Europe. Others will be up to Italy, Germany, France and UK, but I fear that those countries have a death wish

Bulgaria sends 350 troops to Turkish border as illegal Afghan migrant crossings triple
…………
Kudos to Bulgaria for at least trying to stop this invasion. Turkey is deliberately enabling this.

The idea is good but, the Bulgaria Turkish border is 269 km (167 mi) long. 350 troops will be stationed about 770-metres apart, day and night. To really combat Muslim infiltration you would need about 10,000 troops to cover rosters and fatigue.

I thought the same – 350 does not seem like a serious attempt at stopping them — mind you, it’s 350 more than Biden is providing at his southern border, so I guess it’s better than nothing.

Erdogans security agents have been shooting at migrants since 2016, I have heard this several times now. But just imagine if British or French security had been shooting at migrants, Erdogan would be going mad.
Could you imagine what he’d be like, he’d be absolutely ballistic calling us for everything. Yet It’s OK for him to open fire on his fellow muslims.
