Hello Early Music Fans,

I’m incredibly excited for our coming season. It was exactly 300 years ago when Bach arrived in Leipzig after a rather long and drawn-out audition process involving many of the best 18th century German composers. You’ll have a chance to hear music of the four finalists at our September Providence Baroque concert.

We also are pleased to be presenting an incredible young French violinist, Theotime Langlois de Swarte, who is touring the US in October. His playing is absolutely divine!

We celebrate the holidays with the wonderful Boston Renaissonics group who appeared on our series some years ago.

In the winter we feature a solo harpsichord recital by Byron Shenckman, one of my favorite classmates from New England Conservatory, playing a French program. In February we will hear a New York ensemble featuring music of Purcell and Eccles, organized by the wonderful harpist Parker Ramsay, whose solo Harp version of the Goldberg Variations recently won much acclaim.

The season ends with three Bach Brandenburg concertos – a joyous conclusion to fine array of music.

We hope many of you can subscribe to the whole series, and please tell a few friends about our musical adventures. Please do consider making a generous donation to help support the best of early music in Rhode Island.
