My latest in PJ Media:
Ali Saleh, 28, was born and raised in the Jamaica, Queens neighborhood of New York City, in idyllic circumstances: according to court documents, he came “from a loving home, surrounded by parents and siblings, and was both educated and employed.” Yet despite the fact that we are constantly told that ignorance and deprivation cause terrorism, Saleh’s enviable upbringing didn’t prevent him from turning to the dark side. Wednesday, he was sentenced to thirty years in prison after pleading guilty to aiding the Islamic State (ISIS). He gives every indication of being as hardcore an adherent as the jihad terror organization ever had. And one question that no one seems to be asking is: Where did he get these ideas in Queens?
In addition to the 30 years for aiding ISIS, Saleh was also sentenced Wednesday to eight years and four months in prison for assaulting a federal correctional officer. According to the Justice Department, “on July 13, 2018, at approximately 12:35 p.m., while a senior correctional officer was retrieving trash through an access slot of Saleh’s cell, Saleh reached through the slot and slashed the officer with an improvised knife, lacerating the officer’s right forearm and damaging the officer’s radial nerve. Saleh smiled at the officer and said, ‘I hope you die.’” Charming guy.
That was after Saleh amassed a long record of support for the world’s most brutal and murderous jihad terror group. Matthew G. Olsen, assistant attorney general for the Justice Department’s National Security Division, stated that “Saleh made numerous attempts to travel overseas to join ISIS, and when those efforts failed, attempted to assist others in joining the terrorist organization.”
Saleh made his loyalties abundantly clear. On July 10, 2014, he wrote online: “We are going to see a lot of be headings [sic] of American soldiers and I want front row seats.” Then on August 25, 2014, he declared: “I’m ready to die for the Caliphate, prison is nothing.” Three days later, he added: “Lets [sic] be clear the Muslims in the khilafah [caliphate] need help, the one who is capable to go over and help the Muslims must go and help.” He also wrote: “I’m ready to die for the Caliphate, prison is nothing.”
Saleh made reservations that day to fly to Turkey, from which he was presumably planning to make his way in to the Islamic State’s domains, but his parents stopped him by taking away his passport. Thus stymied, Saleh began helping ISIS in other ways. In October 2014, he sent $500 to a Muslim in Mali to help him get to Islamic State domains. He also aided others who wanted to help the Islamic State.
There is more. Read the rest here.

So he thinks prison is nothing. Then the best place for him is prison. That means he’s doing nothing and that seems to be the best we can ever expect from him. The only shame is that we have to pay to keep him alive to do nothing. I guess that’s something to him but, yeah, once again, it’s a tough call between Islam and insanity. I hope he enjoys his little world within the confines of his own skull …. and now that we’ve heard about him and acknowledged his existence I hope that in a few more minutes we will all completely forget about him.

Creatures like Saleh should be executed, it doesn´t change them if they are only in prison
Check Burry says
I doubt e would get anything like 30 years if did same in UK.
VICTOR COWEN says
I could not agree more. Execution is the only deterrent available but our do-gooders have wrecked us all.
OLD GUY says
Whats really troublesome is that there are persons in Congress who are working on closing all Federal Prisons, so he may not spend life in prison and could be out on the streets again. The old west had it right HANG HIM.

I’m afraid some democrat will turn him loose

A study was done years ago of the socio-economic status of jihadists. Most were from stable middle-class homes and they were studying to be admitted to a profession. Socio-economic deprivation did not enter into the profile of most jihadists.
They became jihadists when they learned that the Koran teaches jihad as an obligatory duty and as an essential teaching of Islam (usul-ud-deen).
CogitoErgoSum says
Yes, he discovered in the Koran that making money in this world is worthless unless you spend it in a way that kills Infidels and your time is wasted unless you … that’s right … spend it killing some Infidels or at least make their lives as miserable as possible. It’s the highest calling in life for a Muslim and the greatest reward for answering that call is an eternal sex orgy in Paradise. However, this poor fool now has to wait at least another 30 years of doing nothing until he gets his reward. In 30 years he will be 58. Will his greatest wish still be to have continuous sex for eternity or will he be satisfied with the sex he gets over the next 30 years in prison? Well, I hope he gets everything that’s coming to him … and more.

This is true–most Jihadists are not actually deprived or disenfranchised, despite this being the constant meme.
somehistory says
Why not put him in a straitjacket except during the times he has to eat and visit the ‘throne’?
He wouldn’t be able to do any damage wearing it and it just might get through his thick mozlum skull that he isn’t going anywhere for the next 30+ years..because prison is **something** and he’s stuck.
Terry Gain says
We won’t put him in a straight jacket because that’s a form of torture. And it would be gratuitous. And it would demean us. And there is a host of other reasons.
I did not consider the waterboarding of KSM to be torture. I am sure it scared the hell out if him but doctors were present and it was done to elicit information to save lives. And it did.
But gratuitous infliction of punishment is never justified.
somehistory says
They put mental patients in straight jackets and in padded rooms. If it’s torture for a criminal to keep him from injuring others, why is it not torture for the mental patient?
That sounds like unequal treatment…which is unlawful according to the Constitution’s Amendments. Equal treatment under the Law…supposed to be applied to people who have been arrested, locked up, being searched, etc.
I think if they wanted to do it, they could “justify” it as they do with the mental patients.

‘I Hope You Die’: The Murderous ISIS Jihadi From New York City You Heard Nothing About
………………
Despite all of this advantages, Islam was ultimately the biggest factor in Ali Saleh’s life–and we see the ugly fruits of that fact.
savvyone says
Unfortunately, he will probably be put in general population where he will do a lot of damage recruiting people into the “religion of peace”.
Muslim criminals should be isolated with their own kind. You would think our prison systems would have it figured out by now.
gravenimage says
Grimly true. Robert Spencer calls this “30 years of prison da’wa”.
DazzleMe says
I agree savvyone, I too believe they like prison to recruit other Muslims.

Yeah, he should be allowed to keep his trash from now on.

he will in prison

Pretty good tune, Relic, but my favorite prison song was done by Merle Haggard. I know you like music so I hope you like this one too:

This Jihadi could make better use of his time in jail if he’d learn to play a musical instrument while he’s serving his time but music is probably right below Christians and Jews on his list of the things he hates.
James Lincoln says
C.E.S.,
Merle Haggard was fantastic. I had the good fortune of seeing him play live in Reno, Nevada.
And Vince Gill – who I also saw live – thought he was the absolute best.

James, yes, I didn’t really appreciate Merle that much until he was gone. I remember that my parents would play his music but I was more into The Beatles. I still like classic rock but Merle is moving up on my list of favorite musicians. And you are right. He was fantastic.

Mark Spahn (West Seneca, NY) says
Hello, Relic. You write, “In jail your driveway is all your own.” In this context, what does “driveway” mean?
CogitoErgoSum says
It’s prison slang for the front of an inmate’s cell or bunk. I found a webpage with some other definitions:
https://writeaprisoner.com/prison-slang
Relic says
In jail you are counted six times a day. Your driveway is the six feet beside your bunk you walk when the co says count.

I am always amazed at how a medieval illiterate pedophile, misogenist Arab warlord has held so much sway and still does over people seemingly of a rational state of mind. I mean who would in this day and age believe in flying donkies and a man splitting the moon in half! Yet I have come across hundreds that try to justify this happening!!!
rooare says
Well Clem, Islamic doctrine puts divine sanction on the base instincts of mankind, that being pillage, enslavement of others, rape, murder, and such. And those that are deceived by Islams god Allah will, when they take their last breath, discover to their horror his proper name is Lucifer.
