Murder of Israeli athletes in Munich is a “heroic operation” according to Abbas’ Fatah
Fatah praises mastermind of the Munich Olympics massacre for planning and leading the lethal attack
On September 5, 1972 at the Munich Olympics, Palestinian terrorists from the Fatah’s Black September terror organization took Israeli athletes hostage and murdered 11 of them.
This terror attack - “the heroic operation” in Palestinian terminology – is marked and celebrated every year in the PA as documented by Palestinian Media Watch. So too this year. Openly attributing the massacre to “the Fatah Movement’s foreign special operations branch,” Fatah called it “a heroic history written in blood by the Fatah self-sacrificing fighters”:

A heroic operation that was carried out by the Fatah Movement’s foreign special operations branch (i.e., the Black September terror organization), whose goal was the release of 236 Palestinian and Arab prisoners in the occupation’s prisons and in the German prisons and directing the world’s attention to the Palestinian cause. This was together with a natural response to the occupation’s assassination operations and bombings of the Palestinian refugee camps at the time.”

During the year, Fatah and the PA also honor and glorify the individual “heroes” who perpetrated the massacre. Fatah posted this video praising Abu Daoud – one of the masterminds and planners of the Munich attack – as “one of the symbols of the Palestinian revolution”:

Earlier this year, PMW exposed another Fatah video that glorified Black September’s commander of operations in Europe, Ali Hassan Salameh, as “a beacon guiding… the path to liberation”:
Fatah Commission of Information and Culture’s narrator: “Ali Hassan Salameh was characterized by his long arm, which reached across all of Europe, and by high intelligence that enabled him to hunt Mossad agents. After he was appointed to command the special operations (i.e., terror attacks) against the Israeli intelligence service in the world, his name was connected to many quality operations, such as sending explosive packages to many Mossad agents in Europe… Salameh left a life story that turned him into a symbol of extraordinary security activity. [This] was continued and is still being continued by his students and those who love him, who view him as a beacon guiding them on the path to liberation and return.”

Black September - a now inactive Palestinian terror organization and secret branch of Fatah, which was established by PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat in 1970 and was led by Arafat's deputy Abu Iyad (Salah Khalaf). Black September's terror attacks include the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972), and the murder of two American diplomats in Sudan (March 1, 1973).
Muhammad Adel Daoud - Palestinian terrorist who murdered Ofra Moses, who was pregnant, and her 5-year-old son, Tal Moses, by throwing a Molotov cocktail at their car on April 11, 1987. Daoud is serving a life sentence.
Ali Hassan Salameh - Palestinian terrorist and commander of operations in Europe of the Black September terror organization - a secret branch of Fatah - in the 1970s. He planned many terror attacks, including the attack on the Israeli team at the Munich Olympics on Sept. 5, 1972, in which 11 Israeli athletes were murdered. Salameh was killed by a car bomb in Beirut on Jan. 22, 1979. Israel is thought to be responsible for his death, but has not officially taken responsibility for it.
