PA uses music to promote terror

PA TV added background songs promoting terror to its broadcasts from street rallies:

  • “No force in the world can remove the weapon from my hand” – song added to Hebron and Jenin rallies

  • “O Fatah man with the Kalashnikov, teach them the war of the streets” - song added to Ramallah and Jericho rallies

  •  “A Martyrdom seeker... carried out an operation” – song added to Jericho rally

  •  “Victorious is the hand that blows up a tank” – song added to Jenin rally

Palestinian Media Watch reported that when broadcasting from a Fatah rally in support of the PA held in Ramallah in July, official PA TV added a terror song that praises as “mighty” “the hand that blows up a plane.”

Since then, it has become PA TV policy to add terror promoting songs to the street rallies.

To strengthen support for the PA and its increasingly unpopular chairman Abbas, official PA TV has broadcast repeatedly from Fatah rallies in support of the PA. The rallies are taking place throughout the PA areas. The following terror promoting songs calling for violence have been added to PA TV broadcasts:

“No force in the world can remove the weapon from my hand” – PA TV added this song to two broadcasts from Hebron and Jenin

Lyrics: “From my wounds, my weapon has emerged.
Oh, our revolution, my weapon has emerged.
There is no force in the world that can remove the weapon from my hand
My weapon has emerged
My weapon has emerged”

from rally in Jenin: official PA TV, July 13, 2021]

This song contains additional lyrics encouraging Martyrdom that were not aired in these TV broadcasts but have been exposed in the past by PMW:

“He who offers his blood does not care
if his blood flows upon the ground.
As the weapon of the revolution is in my hand,
so my presence will be forced [upon Israel].”

“O Fatah man with the Kalashnikov, teach them the war of the streets” – PA TV added this song to two broadcasts from Ramallah and Jericho

Lyrics: “Go from place to place, O Fatah man with the Kalashnikov [AK-47],
I like no one but you, O man with the Kalashnikov
Go from neighborhood to neighborhood, teach them to throw rocks,
O man with the Kalashnikov…
Go from hill to hill, death and not dishonor,
O man with the Kalashnikov…
Go from neighborhood to street, teach them the war of the streets,
O man with the Kalashnikov”

from rally in Jericho: official PA TV, July 11, 2021]

“A Martyrdom seeker... carried out an operation” – PA TV added this song to a broadcast from Jericho

Lyrics: “O man with the black keffiyeh
A Martyrdom seeker in front of the oppressor – carried out an operation (i.e., terror attack)…
Your blows, O Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades lead to freedom”

“Victorious is the hand that blows up a tank” – PA TV added this song to a broadcast from Jenin

After PMW’s first report on PA TV’s new practice of adding violent songs to footage from rallies, the same song was added again, this time to footage from Jenin:

Lyrics: “Victorious is Fatah. Victorious is our revolution.
Victorious is the hand that blows up a tank…

For the sake of Arafat, self-sacrificing fighters
We will attack the fire, self-sacrificing fighters
For the sake of Arafat, self-sacrificing fighters
We have united the blood.”

PMW has exposed other efforts by official PA TV to promote violence and terror via songs. In its quiz program Tune of the Homeland, PA TV more often than not includes songs that romanticize, underline, and even promote the “armed struggle” and the use of violence and terror against Israel.
