Why didn’t the Muslims who frequent the Al-Khalil Grand Mosque expel Mohamed Toujgani for his “extremism” and “hijacking” of the peaceful religion of Islam before the Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration had to act?
“Molenbeek: withdrawal of the residence permit for the imam of the largest Belgian mosque,” translated from “Molenbeek: retrait du permis de séjour pour l’imam de la plus grande mosquée belge,” SudInfo, January 13, 2022:
The Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, Sammy Mahdi, withdrew the residence permit of Mohamed Toujgani, main imam of the Al Khalil mosque in Molenbeek, the largest in our country, last October, the site of VRT NWS announced Thursday.
The Secretary of State made this decision based on information from the security services “due to signs of a serious danger to national security,” he explained in a press release. An order to leave the country was served on the imam and he was informed that he was prohibited from entering the country for ten years. According to Mr. Mahdi’s firm, the normal appeal period has expired, which Toujgani’s lawyer disputes. According to the VRT, the man has already left the territory.
As imam of the Al-Khalil Grand Mosque, he was particularly influential in the Islamic community in Brussels. He had lived in Belgium since 1982 and had Moroccan nationality, Mahdi said.
“In the past, we have given radical preachers too much leeway. This man was probably the most influential preacher in Belgium. With this decision, we are making a difference and giving a clear signal: we will not tolerate those who divide and threaten our national security,” he added.
The imam has been the subject of controversy for some time now. Despite the fact that he had lived in Belgium for several years, he did not speak Dutch or French. Also, a video dating back to 2009 surfaced ten years later, in which he called for the burning of the “Zionist oppressors.”
Michael Copeland says
He was preaching “exactly what this book says”, as Lt-Col Allen West puts it.
Go figure, Belgium.

“In the past, we have given radical preachers too much leeway.”
So long as people think Islam has been hijacked, perverted…..
Michael Copeland says
Molenbeek, of course, is the culturally-enriched neighbourhood that harboured Salah Abdeslam, the surviving Bataclan terrorist for many weeks after the atrocity.
The imam was reportedly associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, according to Remix https://rmx.news/belgium/belgium-revokes-residence-permit-for-imam-at-countrys-largest-mosque-citing-a-serious-danger-to-national-security/
Again, go figure, Belgium.

Yep. This area is now infamous for Jihad terror.
somehistory says
Perhaps he had influence on those murderers who went over to France and shot a bunch of people in a theater. It was reported that the mozlums who murdered the innocent, travelled over from Belgium.
Did that escape the minister’s notice at that time?
PRCS says
To my knowledge, Friday prayers, around the world–especially those that express or encourage hatred of/violence against “unbelievers”–never result in the flock challenging the message.
Because it’s what they want to hear.

I congratulate Simon Mahdi for withdrawing the residence permit of this imam. It’s a definite step in the right direction, and I just wish more western countries would be doing the same. However I would always be very suspicious when dealing with someone who has a name like Mahdi, but on this occasion I cannot fault him.

Agreed, John. Mahdi has actually deported a few Jihadists. I don’t know what his ultimate agenda is, though.
Westman says
How long before Mohamed Toujgani sneaks into the Northern US or Canada?

Or gets a taxpayer funded, 1st class ticket to the UK?

Good work, Belgium, in throwing this Muslim bum out. I doubt whether it will have much impact since Islam is always the clear enemy of all our western values and you really need to throw pretty well all Muslims out to be rid of all the enemies in our midst. It is them or us when it comes to islam. There is no possibility of getting along because Islam is totally incompatible with all aspects of the western way of life, and our western way of life beats the crap out of barbaric Islam and all its primitive garbage.
Michael Copeland says
“Assimilation is a crime against humanity!”
Erdogan to Turks in Germany.
tim gallagher says
Michael, Just to correct Erdogan, who is obviously wrong, “Inhumane and hate filled Islam is a crime against humanity”. There, now that’s the truth
Fitna says
Agreed Tim I was about to post something similar.
These idiots think they solved the problem when they found one bad apple, but millions of them think exactly the same way.
Islam is a hydra, cut off one head, two will grow in its place. They need mass deportations to really fix this problem, this applies to all free nations.
They’re also fighting this too slowly. You throw out one muslim, thousands are either being born or are invading by immigration or through illegal means.
Once the Muslims outnumber you, you’ve lost your country unless you intend to use force to maintain power.
This is a very stupid, dangerous experiment the West has done to itself. There is no undo button. Muslims are here to conquer, not integrate.
tim gallagher says
I agree with everything you’ve written there, Fitna. As you say it is definitely a stupid and dangerous experiment. You would think that almost everyone would have woken up by now, but no such luck. There’s no getting along with Islam because it is aiming enslave us all and impose its barbaric crap on all of us.
raja says
Fitna,
Muslims don’t need to outnumber you. At 10 percent of the population they become unmanageable. Always whining and demanding favors and especial preferences, being best of peoples (as koran puts it) For starters they start with halal products and then the clamor for more Sharia tools keeps increasing thereafter.
In countries like India people won’t be this tolerant (when dealing with Islamic rogues and jihadists) India produces grass roots leaders like Swamy Yati (against Sharia) rand so on. In UK, Tommy Robinson is going through hell for exposing the rape gangs, which is supposed to be a crime in UK.
James Lincoln says
raja,
Yes.
All the reports that I have read put “approximately 10%” as the tipping point for significant islamization.

Good exchange, Tim, Fitna, and Raja.

Thank you Gravenimage
Infidel says
Fine, they’ve withdrawn his residency. I’ll believe that they are serious when they’ve flown him back to Morocco, rather than send him to Germany or Sweden or some other loser nation of Europe
gravenimage says
Actually, we don’t even know yet if Belgium is going to follow through on deporting him from Belgium. Often these “deportations” are purely on paper.

Belgium: Residence permit of imam of nation’s largest mosque withdrawn, he’s a ‘serious danger to national security’
Why didn’t the Muslims who frequent the Al-Khalil Grand Mosque expel Mohamed Toujgani for his “extremism” and “hijacking” of the peaceful religion of Islam before the Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration had to act?
…………..
Damn good question.
Here are a couple of others–how many more Imams are there just like Mohamed Toujgani? And how bad does a Muslim have to be to get his permit withdrawn by someone named “Sammy Mahdi”?
Then, why does Belgium had a Muslim Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration in the first place?
Wellington says
Islam is a serious danger to the national security of every Western nation.
Paul says
Islam is a serious threat but we opt for slow death rather than the pain of nipping it in the bud. Why is our civilization out of control?
Shalom says
Only prohibited from entering the country for ten years? How ridiculous. His teachings will proliferate online instead plus plenty of his followers will carry on in his place. At least there is some positive news in this story.
Carol the 1st says
Is there some law or prohibition against a country sending investigators to observe what’s being preached in local mosques whenever it suits such country? Is Western idealism/political correctness and/or cowardly and unprotected politicians serving to handcuff everyone and make foolish PATSIES of our Western nations?
An ordinary citizen can walk into a Catholic or Protestant church or likely even a Jewish synagogue with no questions asked. What happens when one of us wants to witness what’s spoken of in mosques? Do we get chased away, receive subtle threat, or get a discouraging 3rd degree?
A friend of mine fell into a situation here in Canada where due to a mutual school project that needed work on a Friday night she somehow wound up in the upper tier of a mosque. Afterward she carefully asked her male muslim companion about the “talk against Jews”. He calmly replied, “Oh, he usually doesn’t talk that much about them….” The subject changed after that.
