Wilder Love (Love and Chaos) Kindle Edition
He was my strength. I was his weakness. Until I destroyed him.
He was the town’s golden boy. My California dream. I was the queen of nothing. His blue ghost Firefly.
He was a pro surfer chasing the perfect wave. I was a high school student just struggling to survive.
Opposites in every way yet drawn to each other like moths to the flame, we promised to never say goodbye.
And for a short, glorious time, he was all mine, and I was all his.
Until a cruel twist of fate ripped us apart and turned our lives upside down.
As his star faded, mine burned bright.
But as everyone knows, all that glitters is not gold.
Now I’m back after seven long years, hoping for a chance to right my wrongs and fix what’s broken.
This time I can only hope that loving Shane Wilder will be enough to save him.
Wilder Love is an angsty, forbidden, slow-burn, second chance romantic standalone, ending in an HEA.

About the author

Emery Rose is a former New Yorker currently living in London, and loves creating angsty, emotionally-charged stories with all the swoons, spice, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
When she's not busy crafting love stories with swoon-worthy, flawed heroes and the strong heroines who bring them to their knees or immersed in a good book, you can find her experimenting with new recipes, listening to her vinyl collection, or traveling the globe in search of sunshine and the perfect wave.

- Reviewed in Australia on 5 January 2024Verified PurchaseA Love that stands despite all obstacles ♡ This book was so angtsy and raw, and I loved every moment of it. I devoured every word until the very end, and I'll probably jump straight into Dylans book because I'm as equally obsessed with Remy's twin brother. I loved how forbidden their love was in the beginning, but their souls were connected in a way time, and distance could never break. Remy was such a lost beautiful soul who never felt worthy. I loved how Shane loved her and how when he was at his lowest, she loved him right back.
Moving had become second nature to Remy. Her mother never liked to stay in one place too long. She knew the warning signs and knew a new home was always inevitable. She was lucky that through it all, she had her twin brother Dylan. They were a team that struggled together. This was the first time they'd been near the ocean, though, and something about being close to the deep blue calmed her in a way nothing ever had. Costa del Rey was a place she could get used to. The view wasn't the only thing that caught her eye. Shane Wilder was older than Remy, but their connection was undeniable. But Shane kept them firmly in the friend zone because she was underage. It was a daily struggle. Remy felt like home, and it wasn't a feeling he would willingly walk away from. Being the daughter of Rae st.clair always had its downfalls. Being called white trash was nothing new to Remy, but Shane never made her feel like that's how he saw her. Remy had many insecurities, and when manipulated, she'd let them rule her. They promised to never say goodbye, but when moments of wrong choices force them apart, it leaves their hearts shattered in pieces. They say that true soul mates will always find a way back to each other that no time or space will ever dull the feeling of being in eaxhothers presence. When they stand before the other 7 years later, shells of their former selves will they be able to pick up the pieces and move forward, or will there be too much water under their bridge.

- Reviewed in Australia on 16 November 2024Verified PurchaseI initially read this series for the beautiful covers but I soon found out that the stories are just as good as the covers. I’ve enjoyed all 3 couples in the series and recommend they be read in order to enjoy them more. I loved the support characters in each story and their own stories. This is a new author for me and one I’ll read more of.
- Reviewed in Australia on 23 January 2020Verified PurchaseThere is just SO MUCH to LOVE about this story!!
I have spent a couple of weeks trying so hard to put the words together to adequately review this beautiful tale and yet I'm still struggling to find the right ones to do it justice.
Emery Rose is a new author to me, and I'll now be clamouring to read everything she's written as this offering has floored me in it's execution, eloquence and attention to detail.
Let alone it has bled and rung my heart dry, only to fill it more full of love for these characters and their journey than I can remember feeling for a story in a really long time!
Remy St. Clair and Shane Wilder are just such exquisitely written characters, you cannot help but champion their budding love affair as this story unfolds, and feel the loss of each other as events conspire to tear them apart.
Rose carefully handles the issues and struggles in this tale, that as tough as they are, you accept them and each persons actions and reactions and respond in kind with joy, passion, anger, hatred and determination to see them be reunited once more.
The supporting cast are also brilliantly portrayed; Remy's twin Dylan is a delicious enigma that I can't wait to see more of as this series unfolds, and Shane's father Jimmy was the perfect sounding board and connection for these two starcrossed lovers, and also holds a special place in my tortured reader heart.
I could go on and on, but all that really needs to be said is that this story is an absolute MUST READ, and a no brainer as one of my all time favourites.

I cried. Remy and Dylan have a C of a mother. But their bond is beautiful. Yes. Siblings don’t always talk. But they are there for each other.
I loved shane and his need to keep her safe.
His dad was a beautiful man and I just fell in love with them all.
I LOVE AND ADORED THIS BOOK!
5/5 stars and 100% recommend.
2/5 for spice. It’s there, not in your face but also not missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be prepared for all the feels! And make sure to have tissues handy
Verified PurchaseWilder Love is an emotional, angsty, and romantic goldmine! Emery Rose has penned a book that will break your heart (probably multiple times), but then painstakingly piece it back together even better than before.
Summary:
Remy St. Claire thought she'd given up on hope. Afterall, hope only led to wishes that never came true. But after moving to yet another new location, this time the beautiful Costa Del Rey, she can't deny having that hopeful feeling. Especially after slapping eyes on Shane Wilder. Shane's confident, talented, and going places. From the moment their eyes meet, a crackling connection is established. But they can't be together. At least, not yet. Remy is too young, and Shane's focused on his dreams. So they become friends, surfing and sharing secrets under the cover of darkness. But that connection hums in the background, becoming stronger and harder to deny. They both agreed to wait for the other. Remy never meant to lie to him. She wanted him to have everything he ever dreamed of, Instead, one moment, one devastating decision changes the course of their lives. Now, seven years later, both Shane and Remy return home completely different people than those who left. Remy is looking for the chance to fix what she broke, while Shane works to bury the past that can't seem to let him go. Adjusting to his new life isn't easy, and he finds it difficult to embrace new dreams. Will he grab hold of Remy's unconditional love to help him heal, or allow himself to drift away just as the tide does?
This was an amazing read, and Emory Rose is quickly establishing herself as an up and coming author to watch. I adored her Beautiful series, but Wilder Love gripped my heart and doesn't seem to want to let it go. Remy was incredible. When we first meet her, she's so young, but you truly can't think of her age when her strength and determination show her in a much more mature light. She's lived a hard life, forced to grow up before her time, and the things she's seen and endured have made her wise beyond her years. Despite her strength, she couldn't completely hide her vulnerability, though. With the life she led, she had doubts, fears, and uncertainty, but her tenacious spirit refused to let her give up or waver in her loyalty to those she loved. It wasn't easy, but she persevered with her head high, never giving up the fight. I loved Shane, too. Upon first meeting him, he's the confident surfer dude leading a carefree life. You quickly learn that he uses his love of the ocean to soothe a heartbreak from his childhood. You also learn that his emotions are a lot more complex than they seem. He's a strong and protective hero with a passion that burns bright, but a temper that can get him into trouble. As a couple, Shane and Remy just fit. From the first moment they met, there was that undeniable connection drawing them toward one another. Their romance went through hardship; some that seemed insurmountable, but that just added to the sweet, sexy, romance of it all. I loved the forbidden aspect when they started. It was all steamy build-up for what they would become and it gave me goosebumps. I also love a good second chance romance where you feel every all the anger, hurt, longing, lust, and love between the two main characters. Overall, I did not want to put this book down. I even stayed up way too late, telling myself I'd quit after just one more chapter. The storyline was tragically realistic, and told in a way that we got the details we needed for a full story without falling into the trap of using filler to keep the plot going. I've never surfed and don't know much about it, but I never felt lost or like there was too much I didn't understand. There were a few things I looked up, though, just for my own curiosity. Every word transported me to SoCal and had the scent of the salty sea air in my nose. Supporting cast was outstanding, adding another layer of goodness on top of what Shane and Remy already brought to the table. Jimmy completely stole the scenes he was in, and even the memory of his Hippie Chick warmed my heart. Shane's friends were great side characters, especially Travis, and I wouldn't mind seeing him get a story of his own. Bastian is just as broken and damaged as Remy was, and I'd be interested to see how he found his success and fame, but also see him happy with his own HEA. Most importantly, though, is Dylan, Remy's twin. Their connection and support of each other was a foundation of the book. They had each other's backs no matter what, always, and I want to see that from Dylan's POV. Dylan is also a complex man, made up of layer upon layer of emotion, but keeping it contained. I can only hope his story is next because he deserves to find something good after the life he endured growing up. Something to complement the riches he succeeded in finding. I really thought his story could only go one way, but the end gave us just a glimpse of another possible outcome. It is probably way early, but

Verified PurchaseI laughed, cried and feared with Shane and Remy. What more could one want in a book?
Remy is an insanely strong female character who developed a lot through out the story. She know exactly what she wants and goes for it.
Also her and Shane’s connection is so incredible!

This pulled me right out of my reading funk. I needed a book that was going to just capture my attention and have me falling in love and this book did that and more. I fell for the characters and was invested in their story from start to finish.
This is my first Emery Rose but it will not be the last. It was written so well and made me feel EVERYTHING for these characters and what they went through, both together and their own separate issues.
So excited to read the others in this series. And more by Emery Rose

4.0 out of 5 stars Another amazing book from Emery Rose
Verified PurchaseShane Wilder is THE ultimate book boyf!
Remy hasn't had the best life, she's 16 and moves to Costa del Rey with her twin brother Dylan and dead beat mum. Where she meets pro surfer Shayne Wilder, he's alot older than Remy. But there is no denying their attraction.
They couldn't be together, not straight away, she was too young and screwed up and he was focused on chasing his dream. So they became friends, until they couldn't deny their connection any longer.
But things don't turn out the way they should and part 2 of the book is 7 years later. So much has happened and Shane is not the same care free surfer dude he once was. He's broken and not guna lie broken Shane hurts my heart.
This book brought so many emotions, I cried, I was angry and I hurt so much for Shane and the rubbish hand he had been dealt. Emery Rose's writing is beautiful and grips you from the start.
Such a good read and I can't wait to read Dylan's story next
