Why Kids (And You) Shouldn’t Be Forced to Mask

  1. Karissa Aman says:

This is an excellent resource, thank you!

  2. Megan says:

    Thank you

  3. Sarah Joanna says:

A million times THANK YOU for this.

  4. Carrie L. says:

Wow! So good! This may have been THE BEST article I have read that lays out all the science and facts in a very objective, non-political way. Quick question- In the last paragraph shouldn’t it say “…is an effective strategy in PREVENTING the spread of Covid….” Am I reading that wrong?
Anyway, thank you for this incredible, evidenced-based article! Bravo! Bravo!

  5. Mary M. Tarte says:

I would like to thank you and commend you on this exceptionally writen article. I concur with your position/opinion regarding wearing mask and one can’t really argue with scientific fact regarding their effectiveness. Thank you for supplying thorough easy to comprehend evidence. My only additions are the following facts. At two
years of age lungs are still developing. Does it really make sense to decrease or restrict
oxygen while increasing toxic waste? Another fact is that the immune system is partially developed from environmental exposures to viral and bacterial things. Antibodies are formed and immune memories are made. The lack of early exposure, particularly before the age of 8, can result in an underdeveloped immune system with weak resilience. So, when these unexposed over masked kids grow up and catch something in thier 60s, that would normally be minor, it could kill them. It would take generations for the immune system to have instinctual antibodies and immune memory again. These are things that I don’t think the general public is even aware of.

    This is excellent. Thank you.

  7. Sammie says:

Where are the reference sites that you gathered all this data?

  8. Our family continues to mask up everywhere we go, outside of our house and yard, where we might come in contact with other people. We are doing it for our own protection and because we love our neighbors and do not want to risk getting them infected. We will continue to do so every day until the COVID-19 pandemic eventually goes away. That is our family choice, and we intend to abide by it long-term.

Please don’t comment on this right now. I am a physician, a father , a conservative and a Christian . I spent 15 years of my life training in the medical field. I have seen more people die in the last 12 months than I did during that time frame in which I trained. Now the deaths are preventable. Once you have a masters degree, medical degree, and 3 board certifications feel free to contact me

Sorry, this is an argument from authority logical fallacy, meaning you’re appealing to your authority (and pointing out my lack of authority) rather than addressing the argument. I guess they don’t teach that in med school! 😉 If you’d like to actually rebut the data presented here from people who have the same (or greater) degrees than you do, go for it. Sincerely, I am always open to changing my mind based on facts. But you haven’t presented them yet.

      • Rachel says:

Excellent use of logic. Very few people know the fallacy arguments! You nailed this one. Excellent article, and very helpful.

      • Julie says:

This is the best rebut! I am sharing with my 12 year old son and his friends. They are homeschool kids studying logical fallacies. Thanks for the real world example. You’re my hero, Allie Beth!

  10. Katie says:

Thank you for this article. So much good information to help us parents protect our kids from having to mask at school!

  11. Allie Giro says:

Thank you, Allie! What a well written, truthful resource. I am sending this to everyone I know, and to my mask mandating employer.
    God bless you!
    Allie G.

  12. Rose says:

Even if there is no “risk” to wearing a mask, if it’s unnecessary, which the days clearly shows it is, then our shouldn’t be mandated.

In Spain, where I live, we have masks required indoors and people are still so terrified they wear them at the park.

  13. Lisa H says:

Phenomenal work, Allie, thank you so much. Super impressed you put this together while raising a toddler and a newborn. My brain didn’t work well during that era!

  14. AL says:

I am a school board trustee in the Dallas area trying to hang on to optional masks. The parents that want their kids to wear masks say horrible things to us, but I plan to stand my ground. Thank you so much for putting all of these facts in one place.

  15. LaTonne says:

As usual, Allie Beth: Home Run!
I love that you stick to the facts and refuse to be intimidated into submission .
    Excellent work.

  16. This is a wonderful resource. Could I please use parts of it in a letter to our school board? Also, could you please look into the Brown University study that came out last week showing infants and children who were isolated and masked had a 20 point IQ drop over the last year and a half?

    Thanks!

  17. Mari says:

Oh my gosh thank you!!! I’m preparing for a school board meeting and this is perfect! Not sure if facts will help but going to try anyways. Thank you for doing the work.

  18. paige says:

very well written and thought provoking, thank you for your research!
