Hi, All,

I’m not sure how much you’ve been following what has been/is going on in Ukraine since we left for break last Friday, but Russia has now invaded Ukraine and has begun launching air assaults across the country, including in the capital, Kyiv. All of this is incredibly distressing. We can talk more about what is happening when we return to school, but in the meantime I am including a list of resources to help you make sense of what is happening there. I’ll continue to update the list. Remember to fact check your sources and to maintain a “healthy media diet.” Social media can be helpful for getting information quickly, but runs the risk of being compromised by mis- or disinformation. I recommend only following sources you know to be credible on social media and elsewhere. The sources I’ve gathered below are a collection of materials drawn largely from historians and independent journalists with expertise in the region.

Take care,

Ms. Otty
