Paola Schietekat says “Injustices are not answered with Islamophobia,” and once again the fact that this word is so seldom defined by those who use it makes what she is saying unclear. If she means that what has happened to her should not lead people to carry out vigilante attacks against innocent Muslims, then she is absolutely right.
If, however, she means that it would be wrong to point out that what happened to her has its roots in Islamic teaching, she is simply avoiding reality. According to the Qur’an, sexual assault and rape must be public to be established in court: four male Muslim witnesses are required to have witnessed the act.
“And those who accuse honorable women but do not bring four witnesses, lash them eighty times and never accept their testimony, they indeed are evildoers.” (Qur’an 24:4)
“Why didn’t they produce four witnesses? Since they do not produce witnesses, they indeed are liars in the sight of Allah.” (Qur’an 24:13)
Paola Schietekat didn’t have four witnesses, and as a woman her testimony was of less value than her accuser’s (cf. Qur’an 2:282). Consequently, her accusation became an exercise in self-incrimination. She received this sentence because of the requirements of Islamic law in sexual assault cases. This is not limited to Qatar; numerous rape victims are in prison in Pakistan.
Would Ms. Schietekat accuse me of “Islamophobia” for pointing all this out? Probably. But that doesn’t make it any less true.
“Qatar: A Mexican woman who was abused is sentenced to 100 lashes and 7 years in prison,” translated from “Qatar: Condenan a 100 latigazos y 7 años de cárcel a una mexicana que fue abusada,” El Cordillerano, February 19, 2022:
Paola Sheitkat [sic] is working for the World Cup Organizing Committee.
Paola works as a behavioral economist for the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the entity responsible for organizing the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Her work was interrupted when a man entered her apartment in Doha while she was sleeping and sexually assaulted her. When she went to report the case, instead of punishing her aggressor, she received a terrible response: a criminal court released her aggressor and sentenced her to receive 100 lashes and spend seven years in prison for having had an “extramarital relationship” with the man who raped her.
Schietekat is back in Mexico and far from his aggressor, but the legal problems initiated by her complaint continue to take money away from her and the possibility of participating in her “dream job,” as she explained in the first person in a recent article where she narrated in detail the violence to which she was subjected:
The Mexican woman said that in her adolescence she was also a victim of sexual violence and that she wanted to make the complaint with the intention that she would not experience the same thing again.
With the evidence in hand, she approached the Mexican consulate in Qatar and explained to the authorities, in the little Arabic she speaks, what happened.
“Asking me if I wanted a restraining order, to do nothing, or to go to the last resort, I froze, from shock, fear and lack of sleep, and turned to see the consul, who recommended that I go to the last resort. I signed the statement in Arabic and gave the details of the aggressor. Hours later, at nine o’clock at night, they called me on the phone to urgently go to the police station,” the woman said.
The police interrogated her in Arabic for more than three hours. It turns out that her rapist had excused herself by claiming that she was his girlfriend, and that she had given him permission to enter.
In Qatar, having an extramarital relationship is punishable by up to seven years in prison, and in some cases the sentence includes a hundred lashes; that was the sentence that now threatened the victim.
“The solution that my lawyer and the legal representative of my assailant gave me was relatively simple: marry him. To close the case that the State of Qatar opened against me, I only had to marry my assailant.”
After months of a judicial process that does not end, Schietekat publicly denounced the Mexican consulate for “the lack of a protection protocol for victims of violence with a gender perspective,” which the consul Luis Ancona demonstrated by not informing her that the complaint he recommended making could come back to haunt her; and to the international community, that it “has excused, and even defended archaic monarchies that maintain laws that promote modern slavery,” all under “the shadow of great sporting or cultural events.”
A final hearing will be held on March 6, where she hopes that a decision will be made that annuls that sentence and allows Schietekat to return to Qatar and resume her work.

The heading alone of this article is a reminder that the Bible in Proverbs 17:15 it’s reveals that “The Lord hate these two things: punishing the innocent and letting the guilty go free.” [E.R..V]

Had someone done that to my sister or daughter I would have Transgendered him.

Is that all?
Remember the scene from “Pulp fiction” where Bruce Willis’s character is told that the rapist “Z” is going to “spend the rest of his short life in agonizing pain”? Well that scenario comes to mind.
Sorry, but my tolerance for rapists of any kind is about ten feet lower than shark shit!

I was in Kuwait in 2001 when a Philippine Nurse was abducted by a hospital guard on her was in to work. The guard beat her viciously and then raped her. This was repeated by all of the other guards from every shift for three days. When they released her she stumbled to the Emergency room where doctors treated her injuries and used a rape kit. When the police arrived they ripped out her IV’s and literally dragged her out of bed and threw her in jail and was charged with prostitution. One of the hospital guards had the clap and gave it to her and thus all of the other guards. The nurse was then charged with spreading a social disease and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. It took the Philippian Government 6 months to get her out of prison but she had to agree to forfeit all of her pay and money in the bank and all of her property and leave the country immediately and never return.

Horrifying story, Namer–this *poor woman*. Glad at least that the Philippean government got her released. No one should go to work in these Islamic crap holes.
Infidel says
At least no non-muslim. I know that people of these countries like Philippines, Sri Lanka and Nepal are desperately poor, but none of them should pick the Middle East as a destination

True. Althouth the Saudis frequently vicimize even Muslims from non-Arab countries. All awful. But Infidels especially should never go to thise Muslim hell holes.

That is unbelievable, she wants to go back to the country that treated her so badly?

Bill, our planet is full of stupid and ignorant people, see how many woman and gay people here in USA defend ISLAM, I CAN’T UNDERTEND IT, my wife friend(from Venezuela) around the year 2000 married a men from EGYPT(very big tourist place) I TOL HER no to do it, she got mad and call me names, she got married anyway, him tock her to Egypt PUT HER INSIDE OF HIS HOME WITH MOTHER AND FAMILY in charge LIKE IN JAIL, my wife friend after 3 years has to escape to the American Embassy who bring her back to USA

I was in the Indonesian embassy in Riyadh years ago, and I heard confessions by Indonesian female workers who worked as housemaids in Saudi Arabia. I asked the embassy employee and he told me that there were many cases like that.
Once, the Indonesian ambassador to Saudi said that 35% of Indonesian female workers in Saudi (they all worked as housemaids) had problems with their employers. Probably at that time, there were 1 millions Indonesian female workers there, so 350,000 female workers were having problems.
It has been going on like that since the beginning (probably right after the oil embargo in 1974 which made the Arabs rich. So the magnitude of abuse by Arabs to the Indonesian women is unimaginable. But muslims try to hide it because of Islam. Islam is really a pure evil religion.
gravenimage says
Yes–terrible. The plight of domestic servants in these Muslim countries is generally the worst of all. Many are treated like slaves and sex slaves, and the “employers”–who often don’t even pay their victims–also usually seize their passports so that they can’t even leave.
Infidel says
I just hope these Indonesian workers, once they made it out of Saudi Arabia and whichever Gulf country they lived in, also went on to make it out of islam. They should follow the example of Sukmawati Sukarnoputri, who recently converted to Hinduism
Michael says
And they would be unable to leave the country without persuading their employers to give them their passports back.
After a football match between Iraq and Egypt in the 80s, rejoicing Egyptians blocked the street outside my Baghdad hotel. Their singing came to an abrupt end when they were rammed by Iraqis in Cadillacs.
There were about 1 m ragged Egyptian ‘guest workers’ in Iraq at that time, during the Iran Iraq war.

I watched a video of a conversation between Christian Prince and a Muslim from the Middle East. The topic was how many women Allah has blessed each devout Muslim man with, from the standard four wives on permanent contract over the time limited Nikah Mutah to the slave girls gained in war. The middle eastern man expressed his understanding that nowadays slaves gained in war have been replaced by domestic helpers.
I have no idea whether scholars of Islam shares his understanding, but if a sizeable part of Saudis do we are bound to have rampant rape problems.

Qatar sentences woman who was sexually assaulted to 100 lashes and seven years in prison
……………
*Hideous*. Is the Mexican government going to go to bat for Paola Schietekat and get her released? From their sad track record with this case so far, I rather doubt it.
And other gulf state nations have done this before–imprisoned the *victim* because by reporting her rape without having the mythical four adult Muslim males to support the story she is held to have “admitted” to having had extramarital sex:
“Qatar: Rape victims accused of sex outside marriage, face up to a year in prison and 100 lashes”
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2021/10/239603
“UAE: Rape victim arrested for sex outside marriage when she reported, and told she had to marry rapist”
https://www.jihadwatch.org/2014/02/uae-rape-victim-arrested-for-sex-outside-marriage-when-she-reported-and-told-she-had-to-marry-rapist
I’m sure there are other such cases.

Hmmm… That is what a woman deserves if she complains of rape without 4 male witnesses who watched her rapist in action.
gravenimage says
Sarcasm?
Walter Sieruk says
That terrible unjust unfair and wickedly absurd and horrible Qatar court sentencing against that women who was sexally assault is as evil and it’s also insane.
This abomination of court ruling which punishing this woman who is the real victim and not the criminals who sexaly assulted her, they should be the ones who should given the lashes and imprisoned is a reflection of the most heinous form of misogyny there is which is the malice-filled misogyny of Islam. A terribly cruel ant-female religion.
OLD GUY says
What kind of religion punishes the victim of a violent act for accusing the rapist? ISLAM and only ISLAM, won”t it be great when we have millions of islamic male believers living in our American neighborhoods. Our wives and daughters will not be able to leave the house without four male family members with them. That will bring the credit card bill down. Sarc. Boy this thing they call diversity is great.
gravenimage says
Even that would not work, OLD GUY. The adult males in question have to be Muslim. They’d be more likely to join in the rape than report if.

Why on Earth would she want to go back to Qatar?!? It has shown that it is a barbaric country by it’s ruling.
