Say hello to the dear childhood me journal.

available now as a free digital download!

The Dear Childhood Me Journal was self-published in 2022, and available for purchase for a short time. While sales of the printed version of the journal are closed, we’re making this inner child journal available as a free download!

The Dear Childhood Me Journal is a heart-led invitation to give your inner child the love, empathy, and nourishment they (and you!) deserve.

It’s filled with notes to your inner child that serve as both affirmations of your worthiness, as well as inspiration for writing so that you may, with joy and curiosity, reflect on who you are today—in context of who you were as a child.

Your self-empathy journey starts now.

Become Who You Are.

In a world that so often rewards forging ahead, what we’re forgetting is the healing that happens in looking back. We have to remember where we came from in order to become who we are.

Practice Self-Empathy.

You are worthy of all the joy, love, and care your heart can take, even if that’s hard for you to believe sometimes. This journal will guide you on a beautiful journey of self-love, self-awareness, and self-empathy.

Love Your Inner Child.

The practice of loving your inner child is an opportunity to heal our shame, explore our emotional attachments, and let go of some of the armor we carry from childhood that may no longer serve us in adulthood.

The who and the why.

Hi, I’m Nōn Wels (he/him).

I’m the founder of The Feely Human Collective, host of the You, Me, Empathy podcast, and creator of the Dear Childhood Me journal.

About two years ago, I started writing notes to my childhood self, and sharing them on Instagram. It started out as a simple exercise in giving my sweet and sensitive inner child the messages he wanted to hear growing up.

An integral part of my mental health journey, as someone who’s struggled with depression, anorexia, and childhood trauma, is engaging in deep curiosity about my childhood self—how my experiences have shaped who I am, and how I might move through them consciously, safely, and with the love I believe we all deserve.

The Dear Childhood Me journal is the culmination of years of reflection—to not ignore my childhood experiences but rather to explore, understand, and move through them. To go inward so I may eventually go outward. My hope is that this journal can be a guide for your safe and feely adventuring, so that you may see how magical and wondrous your heart is, too.
