Resident Research Day

The Office of Vice-Dean Research and Postgraduate Medical Education is pleased to welcome you to join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of our Resident Researchers and the positive impact of Resident Research.

This virtual poster session showcases the outstanding work undertaken by our Residents and recognizes their significant contributions to the research endeavours at the College of Medicine. 

** The Expression of Interest deadline has been extended until June 3, 2022. **

If you are interested in submitting an abstract in one of the two submission categories listed below, please complete the Expression of Interest online by Friday, June 3, 2022. An official confirmation of acceptance of your abstract will be sent via email the week of June 6, 2022. 

Submission Category:

  1. Clinical (The abstract should clearly outline the research objectives, methods, results and conclusions)
  2. What Works/Initiatives (Showcase innovative programs and initiatives that focuses on physician health and wellness, quality improvement, curriculum or any aspect of residency training including health services/patient-oriented research)

Note: Residents are encouraged to submit Work-in-Progress.

Poster Prizes:
Up to three cash prizes awarded to the best poster presentation in each submission category selected by our faculty panel of judges. All submissions will also be available online for College of Medicine faculty and residents for voting from June 22nd -29th to select one “Viewer’s Choice” winner from each category.  More information about the voting process will be sent out to the PGME community via email. Award winners will be recognized at the annual PGME Celebration Night Awards Ceremony held in October.

Poster Prizes:

  • 1st prize: $700
  • 2nd prize: $500
  • 3rd prize: $300

Viewer’s Choice: Award Certificates presented at the PGME Celebration Night in fall 2022. 

Posters:
Posters should follow the traditional USask design (4’ by 3’) and must be submitted in JPEG format. Participants may also make use of their previous posters or could use of one of our poster templates. Further instructions on poster submissions will be sent out via email on May 31, 2022.

Key Deadlines:

  • Friday, June 3, 2022 – Abstracts due (Submission form)
  • Week of June 6, 2022 – A confirmation email regarding the abstract’s acceptance status will be sent.
  • June 22-29, 2022 – Voting is open for “Viewer’s Choice” awards. Open to all students, faculty, and staff of the College of Medicine
  • Wednesday, June 22, 2022 – 2022 REACH - Resident Research Day!
