Posted in Ediondo, Janky, Kagada De Perro, Military Shadow, Releases on April 5th, 2024 by foadmaster2022

F.O.A.D.’s production chain is unstoppable, and after a few months kept at the rate of 4 releases at a time, we increase further and attack you with a new round of no less than 5 vinyl threats!! For this batch there is no thematic common threads as we usually do, we have 4 different countries and far apart eras–from 1983 to the present day. What may be kind of the common point of it all is that it is raw and uncompromising hardcore, ranging from the more primitive and crude approach of KAGADA DE PERRO to the more metallic and apocalyptic moods of Tokyo’s MILITARY SHADOW.  We have two Latin American bands – Mexico’s KAGADA DE PERRO and Chile’s EDIÖNDÖ, two Japanese – MILITARY SHADOW and the extended reissue of the legendary JANKY, and dulcis in fundo a fantastic compilation from the former Yugoslavia: “BUKA I URLIK (1983)” featuring NECROPHILIA, HERPES DISTRESS and SOLUNSKI FRONT. So to get straight to the point.. a very international month spanning 4 decades and offering you the following gems: JANKY “Dead society 1983-1987” LP+CD (new edition), MILITARY SHADOW “The age of cobalt bomb” LP, V.A. “BUKA I URLIK (1983)” LP+CD, EDIÖNDÖ “Toxic love” LP and KAGADA DE PERRO “Victimas de horror” LP.

They’re all available on preorder via www.scareystore.com  As is now customary, we are also treating you with a heavily discounted bundle so that you can buy the diehard versions of everything in bulk and save a lot! Act fast because this is a short-timed offer that will expire on the release date (April 20) if not sooner.  What else to add? This month we’re attending the Mega Record & CD fair in Den Bosch, Holland, an unmissable event for us since over 10 years. You can find us in our usual double booth at number 128, and of course we will premiere these 5 brand new monsters right there, so if you attend the fair and want to grab them, come to visit us!  Finally a small request that we don’t get tired of repeating every time: as you can see we’re in a very busy month, 5 releases in a row, the fair in Holland that sees all our staff away for several days. Don’t bomb us with requests during the pre-order phase, especially unnecessary things like substitutions or additions of items, changes of address or second thoughts of any kind… these are dynamics that slow us down a lot, generate stress and don’t allow us to process shipments with our usual fast and well-organized flow. Thanks!

And now here are the more detailed descriptions on each title:

Special edition sourced from first generation masters provided by No Profit Tapes, giving this iconic compilation the well-deserved quality treatment that does justice after the previous cheaply made version. A devastating clash between the distorted, furious hardcore of NECROPHILIA and HERPES DISTRESS in full line with the most extreme Euro chaos-punk classics of that era (Wretched, Anti-Cimex, Chaos UK), contrasting with the more elaborate but still fast-paced approach of SOLUNSKI FRONT.  LP reproducing the v.a. cassette in its entirety and bonus CD with the same contents as the LP + 8 rare bonus tracks by NECROPHILIA. Primitive, rude hardcore punk with scraping hoarse vocals backed by a crude, fuzzy and totally DIY basement recording. Quoting the band: ” this demo was recorded in 1991 in the house of a friend named Cintia in Colonia Diaz Ordaz in Ecatepec Edo. mex, we recorded it on a homemade recorder in the living room of Cintia’s house; a friend named Jose Angel (nicknamed “el mopet”) was the one who was at the controls of the recorder putting pause in each song, it was all made in one session… it’s worth mentioning that most of the equipment was lent by a gang known as “los águilas” from col. nueva Mèxico in Ecatepec”.

Detailed reviews of each release:

CRIONIC “The land which once were” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 336)

Official reissue of one the greatest and best sounding demos in the history of ’80s Danish speed thrashin’ metal! The perfect blend between early METALLICA and EXODUS with the mittel-European school of DESTRUCTION and KREATOR driven by memorable riffs, a solid rhythmic base, all channeled into their own unmistakable style. Quoting Fenriz (Darthrone): “…over the (funeral) moon about the fact that FOAD Records is releasing one of my favourite demos on vinyl! Truly a lost gem… This recording kind of created their own land within a very crowded metal world at the time, an exciting epic introvert world of its own.”  LP with complete demo 1986, bonus CD with the demo +  bonus rehearsals 1986-1987 including unreleased songs. 16 page booklet with photos, lyrics, liner notes, an introduction by Fenriz and scans of the original cassette artwork. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Solid black vinyl limited to 200 copies

INCINERATOR “Mass genocide / Live into the crematorium” LP (F.O.A.D. 325)

Official reissue of the 2 cult demotapes of this insanely fast thrash horde hailing from Sicily!
– “Mass genocide” (1987)
– “Live into the crematorium” (1986)
One of the many underrated gems of the Italian death-core scene of the 80s, not far from the maniacally fast style of their fellow countrymen Schizo but recommended even to fans of the golden years of Cogumelo Rec.!
An incendiary holocaust of blasting speeds and vitriolic riffs for a radical and aggressive thrash assault that also harkens back to the faster hardcore of that era. For the first time on vinyl (forget the unofficial, bad-sounding lathe cut 10″s that came out a few months ago) remastered from the best sound sources in existence and finally giving these incredible recordings the proper quality-treatment. Includes an insert with photos, flyers and scans of the original demos. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Solid black vinyl limited to 200 copies

Diehard swirl orange vinyl limited to 100 copies

SCHIZO “Main frame collapse” LP  (F.O.A.D. 010)

Ultra fucking FAST sicilian thrash-core mayhem!! New F.O.A.D. reissue faithfully reproducing the original pressing on Crime Records. One of the earliest bands in Italy to introduce the blast-beat formula on Thrash/Death songs. This is one of the most representative extreme metal records out of Italy’s 80s scene. Insanely THRASHING and VIOLENT!! If you also count in the early stuff by their brothers-in-mayhem NECRODEATH (as a matter of fact, half of the songs on this album had NECRODEATH’s former screamer Ingo on vocals), SCHIZO were among the first pioneers of hyper-speed driven thrash emerging from Italy, that in more simple words equals “the first blast beats to ever land on the Italian Metal territories”. Housed in a reverse board jacket with the addition of an insert with lyrics and rare photos of the time. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies

Diehard splatter white on red vinyl limited to 150 copies

BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP (F.O.A.D. 050)

New edition with Japanese OBI strip mocking up the style of the Japanese pressing of “The day of wrath” on Far East Metal Syndicate. The extremely rare BULLDOZER demotape 1984 with the kult “Fallen angel” 7″ added as a bonus. One of the most incredible finds in FOAD’s hunting career: only 3 copies of this demo exist, one sent to Roadrunner, one to King Diamond, and one exhumed in 2013 in AC Wild’s basement and delivered to us for the highest quality treatment. This is the recording that got Bulldozer signed with Roadrunner in 1984 and it sounds killer – different and rawer versions of the classics that ended up on their slasher debut “The Day of Wrath.” Dark and demonic black/speed metal from the wildest guts of Italy’s 80s metal inferno, for all those who worship the early releases of Venom, Bathory and Possessed; plus, the “Fallen angel” session adds that Motörhead touch that makes this record an instant masterpiece of rawness. See how AC Wild introduced these unreleased demo recordings: “This tape was sent to Roadrunner and Roadrunner put us under contract in 1984. It was also sent to King Diamond to ask if he would be interested in being the producer of our album, but he declined saying this stuff sounded ‘too Punk’!!!”  Comes with an insert with liner notes, rare photos and scans of the “Fallen angel” 7″, including the previously unreleased alternate sleeve version. Watch the trailer HERE

This month on F.O.A.D. Records is a completely different beast than previous ones in recent memory, which had been focused almost entirely on 80s hardcore punk. As you all know, our label (formerly a fanzine) was born at a time when there was a fantastic blending of punk and metal.  Over the years we have always continued to keep this spirit alive by alternating months entirely HC to others more dedicated to metal in all its forms. And here we are finally at a new all-metal round on F.O.A.D. Records. Specifically, all totally THRASH!!

3x classic Italian bands and 1 from Denmark. On the Italian side we have reissued two LPs that were previously (several years ago) already released by F.O.A.D.: the legendary SCHIZO “Main frame collapse”, this time in a version completely faithful to the 1989 original on Crime Rec. (and thus arriving to its 35th anniversary) and BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP, in a new special edition with OBI strip in Japanese designed on the same line as the old Far East Metal Syndicate pressing of “The day of wrath” LP.  On the total novelty side instead we have the vinyl collection of the mind-blowing demotapes by Sicily’s INCINERATOR, and last but not least a real gem for all lovers of those 80s demos that have a beauty and importance equal to a real album: the Danish CRIONIC, often mentioned by Fenriz / Darkthrone as one of the most impactful demos in 80s Scandinavian metal.   So to summarize: CRIONIC “The land which once were” LP+CD, INCINERATOR “Mass genocide / Live into the crematorium” LP, SCHIZO “Main frame collapse” LP and BULLDOZER “The exorcism” LP are all available for pre-order via scareystore.com!  As usual two recommendations: 1) hurry up if you want to get the limited editions on colored/splatter vinyl, 2) during the pre-order phase don’t pester us with unnecessary requests such as order changes, address changes, additions, afterthoughts of all sorts – because by doing so we go into stress and all this slows down our work which makes sure that all pre-orders are processed in time with the release date, which in this case is March 18. As is now customary we have made available a ltd. bundle for those who want to purchase the diehard editions of all 4 titles in bulk, you can find it at this link and it will expire on the out now date, so act fast!

As previously announced, the 4 bombs we drop this February are: G-10 “1986-1993″ LP+7”, SLAVER “Fighting Your A Go – Total discography 1987-1990” LP+CD, F.U.P. “Complete discography 1988-1991” gatefold 2xLP + CD and FORCE SKELETOR “混沌神降臨 – Discography 1991-1994” gatefold 2xLP. They are all out now and

Also the black vinyl versions are going at the speed of light, so hurry up! For the next month’s releases we will completely change territory and genre. Stay tuned because we will start launching trailers for the next batch in few days!

More in detail on each release:

G-10 “1986-1993″ LP+7” (F.O.A.D. 320)

Chiba Hardcore warriors!! A collection of incredible rarities tracing the history of G-10 from their origins in 1986 to 1993. All of their demos, compilation tracks, and a large selection of previously unreleased recordings exhumed by the band, so mysterious that for several tracks no one has been able to trace the song titles, assuming they were ever titled.. 27 TRACKS, all obviously never released on vinyl to date. Along with bands such as Kyojinbyo, Soltic, Scum Blast, Beni Tsubaki, Gestapo, and a few others, G-10 were among the most significant exponents of the Chiba hardcore scene in the late 80s and early 90s. Their style is dark and violent hardcore with raspy vocals, in pure Japanese tradition. LP with OBI strip, bonus 7″ with extra unreleased studio recordings. Includes 20 page full colored booklet with an exhaustive selection of rare photos and scans of the original cassettes. Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following version:

Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies

SLAVER “Fighting Your A Go – Total discography 1987-1990” LP+CD (F.O.A.D. 324)

After reissuing such Kanagawa-prefecture classics as Janky, Mad Conflux, Battle Attacker, Toxic Noise and others, here’s another hardcore gem from that area’s heyday unearthed by your F.O.A.D. psychos. SLAVER! The discography of this band is a complicated puzzle, fragmented into various compilations and an ultra rare demotape that has hardly ever circulated in tape-maniac circles.. “Fighting your a go” LP+CD sheds light on this mystery and brings together all the band’s existing recordings in one place. Tense and powerful hardcore with an intense metallic edge, in the best Japanese tradition of the late 1980s.  Bonus CD with the complete demotape and live tracks from the “Devilish fight” compilation. Includes a 16-page full-color booklet with photos and scans of the original releases. Recommended if you like classic Japanese hardcore from the late 80’s and early 90’s, and the legendary compilations from that period (just to say, SLAVER appeared on “革命 Best run fast” LP and “Best run fast Vol. 1″ flexi-disc 7” on MCR Company, “The bottom rise up to the top” flexi-disc 8″ compilation on Devilish Records, two issues of “Bondage maniac”, two issues of ” The choice is mine” and more!) Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following version:

Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies

F.U.P. “Complete discography 1988-1991” Gatefold 2xLP + CD (F.O.A.D. 321)

The most comprehensive and detailed discography to date of this raw and violent Japanese hardcore band! From the streets of Sapporo, Hokkaido, F.U.P. combined the crude, distorted sound peculiar to their area (think Napalm, Human Gas, Tranquilizer, Deef) with a solid backbone drawing from the rawest UK hardcore of the first wave.  This anthology brings together all their existing recordings, including all the very rare demotapes (which were seldom heard outside of their immediate circle) and tracks from the legendary “Sapporo City Hardcore” 7″ flexi compilation (1990) and “Nothing action, nothing have” compilation tape.  79 TRACKS!!!
DOUBLE LP includes: – “Non stop war” Demo (1988) / “Nothing action, nothing have” comp. tracks (1989) / “Bootleg” Demo (1990) / “Sapporo City Hardcore” comp. tracks and “No!!” free giveaway tape (1990) / “Stop the lawless an act” Demo (1991) / “Final” Demo (1991)
BONUS CD includes: “Bootleg+ (plus) Demo / Live at Bessie Hall, 1989 / Live at Zippy Hall, 1991
All scrupulously reacquired from cassettes and 1/4″ reels provided by the band and mastered with the utmost care for the most violent and annihilating sonic impact!
Gatefold jacket with 16-page fanzine-style booklet including rare photos, lyrics, detailed liner notes, and scans of original releases. Watch the trailer HERE

Diehard marble grey vinyl limited to 150 copies

FORCE SKELETOR “混沌神降臨 – Discography 1991-1994” gatefold 2xLP (F.O.A.D. 322)

A rare example of traditional Japanese hardcore rooted in 80’s speed metal!!! Formed in the mid-80s as a speed/thrash metal band, after starting to attend the local hardcore scene FORCE SKELETOR gradually shifted their style toward a powerful blend of traditional Japanese HC while still maintaining an old school metal vibe, creating a unique choice of sound that turns out to be totally epic and intense… Quoting the band’s frontman Reezi: “By the time we started to write their own songs, the metal scene was already partially overshadowed by the rise of grunge, and Pantera’s influence was pushing many bands towards groove metal. Force Skeletor who aspired to play “fast and extreme metal,” felt discouraged by the state of the scene in those days. Around this time, I discovered the legendary Japanese hardcore compilation video “Complete Death Live” (1989). After watching it, I was deeply impressed and began to explore the possibility of shifting our activities to the hardcore scene. Force Skeletor auditioned at Koenji’s old 20000V and at Shinjuku’s Antiknock, two live houses which hosted countless hardcore gigs. This was the beginning of their activity as a hardcore band..”  Hard to label them, but they could be portrayed as “BURNING SPIRITS BLACKENED HARDCORE”!!
This double LP collection includes all their existing recordings: “The Chaos” demo (1991) / “混沌神降臨” demo (1992) / “The Devil” demo (1994) / track from “Sword of Thrash 6 – Morrow” comp. CD
Band members later went on to form the blasting black metal horde APOLOGIST!   Gatefold jacket + full colored booklet including photos and scans of the original cassette covers.. Watch the trailer HERE

F.O.A.D. Records and Japanese hardcore, an unbreakable bond consolidated over time by many travels, stories of friendship, incredible tales.  To make a rough estimate (adding up what we are about to announce) we have exceeded 70 releases dedicated to bands from this wonderful country… in the discography of a label that has reached 330 catalog nr’s, that is almost a fifth! This is to tell you how much importance the infinite panorama that constitutes the underground scene of this world apart has on our taste and way of living hardcore and metal. But let’s get straight to the point: this month is really special in so many ways. There are 4 gems of Japanese hardcore, the most classic and traditional you can think of, they are all from a fantastic period: 1986-1994, they are all the result of the meticulous work of real maniacs and archaeologists in the field… In particular, a prime example is the reconstruction of the SLAVER’s discography, a qualitatively outstanding band but with a myriad of tracks scattered on compilations, an almost non-existent demo and nothing more… It took four years to get to the bottom of it!  So, long story short, this month on F.O.A.D. is a real mecca for lovers of the purest and most pristine Japanese hardcore thrash, 4 bands – 4 legends… from Chiba, Atsugi (Kanagawa), Sapporo and Tokyo, respectively.

G-10 “1986-1993″ LP+7”, SLAVER “Fighting Your A Go – Total discography 1987-1990” LP+CD, F.U.P. “Complete discography 1988-1991” Gatefold 2xLP + CD, FORCE SKELETOR “混沌神降臨 – Discography 1991-1994” gatefold 2xLP are all available for pre-orders via www.scareystore.com   What to add? Japanese hardcore thrash galore 1986-1994 at its finest!  4 releases truly made with heart and the utmost dedication.  As we have done in past months for previous batches, we have made available a very limited bundle for those who want to buy the 4x diehard releases in bulk, don’t miss it!  As usual, our recommendation is always the same: 1) colored/splatter versions will sell out fast, so hurry or cry later 2) try to make our order disposal phase as light and automatic as possible. This means that once you have placed your pre-order, try not to contact us about changes in address, items, shipping methods, and other factors that can easily confuse us and create stress. And finally, we’d like to remind you that this month at El Puente in Yokohama, Japan, there will be a two-day festival (“F.O.A.D. attacks Yokohama“) – Feb. 17-18 – with 11 bands related to our label – a good portion of them have done something with us (Military Shadow, Rocky & The Sweden, Kandarivas, Canaria, Asbestos, Eiefits), others have a link or something coming up in some way… stay tuned and if you happen to be in the area, don’t miss such a killer event!
Now more in detail about these 4 Japanese hardcore rippers:

Available in the following versions:

Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies

Diehard splatter vinyl (blue with red splattering) limited to 150 copies

We couldn’t have started the year in a better way! As anticipated, this January is all focused on an incredible selection of 80s hardcore classics, specifically 3 Italian releases and one from the motherland of råpunk, Sweden.  As usual we want to thank all you maniacs for the great feedback and interest shown and the support you gave us by pre-ordering these new F.O.A.D. rippers so massively. And as usual we are right on time with the release date: INDIGESTI “Osservati dall’inganno” gatefold LP, INDIGESTI “Live in Lübeck, 02.09.1987″ gatefold LP + 7” + BOOK, RAW POWER “Screams from the gutter” gatefold LP and KRUNCH “Vi kåm från timrå, vi!” LP are out now on F.O.A.D. Records! All preorders have been shipped and you should receive automatic updates with tracking shortly. Copies to our distributors are also on their way, you know who the usual suspects are who deal with our sonic outrages…  Beware, there are a few copies left of the ltd. splatter editions (Raw Power will be the first to go), so if you haven’t snagged them yet, don’t sleep on them too much!

And mind you, if we’ve been more focused on European hardcore over the past few months, on the next one we finally return to our beloved Japan with 4x incredible surprises (all from the 80s-90s). And… in conjunction with what we’ll be announcing soon, there will also be a two-day festival on February 17-18 at El Puente in Yokohama dedicated to F.O.A.D. Records, starring 11 bands – a good portion of which have either come out on F.O.A.D. or have a strong connection to us in some way!  It is a huge honor for us to have a party like this, and some “bastard” from our team will obviously be there.  Stay tuned for upcoming trailers and announcements!
Meanwhile, back to the January releases – here’s a detailed description of each:

INDIGESTI “Osservati dall’inganno” gatefold LP (F.O.A.D. 310)

Deluxe reissue of this mandatory hardcore masterpiece, finally back on vinyl after almost 20 years! Undoubtedly one of the top 5 greatest albums in the history of 80’s Italian HC, right there with titans like Raw Power, Negazione, Wretched, CCM and Impact. Highly original song structures where energy, speed and melody embrace each other in an outstanding visionary vibe. Quoting MRR: “Non-stop intensity comes from this longtime Italian outfit. The powerful music is complex and at times awkward due to the band’s capacity in integrating leads and riffs that create some great, hard-hitting melodies. BAD BRAINS-type vocals add to this tight, original, impassioned release. This puppy shreds”.  Transferred from the original 1/4″ master reels and specially remastered for vinyl, sounding better than ever with louder vocals and enhanced features lacking in the previous versions. Housed in a luxurious gatefold sleeve with scratch resistant matte lamination, including 11″x11″ booklet with photos, lyrics in italian/english and paintings of the time drawn by singer Rudy Medea, very much in keeping with the hermeticism of his lyrics, and A2 poster reminescent of TVOR’s promotional poster from the 80s. A top notch classic that can’t be missing in your collection if you love Italian hardcore in its best shape. Watch the trailer HERE

INDIGESTI “Live in Lübeck, 02.09.1987″ gatefold LP + 7” + BOOK! (F.O.A.D. 311)

INDIGESTI captured live in 1987 at the peak of their hardcore intensity! Their best soundboard recording and the greatest live album in the history of Italian HC. Originally released on CD nearly 30 years ago by Vacation House Recordings, now finally appearing for the first time on vinyl remastered from the band’s 1st generation tape, housed in a luxurious gatefold sleeve.  Also includes a bonus 7″ with: “Slide behind your eyes” rare studio version (1987) and “Doppio confronto” live in Long Beach, CA (1986). But perhaps the most important feature that sets this release apart is having enclosed a massive 11″x11″ 64-page full-color BOOK titled “live through the 80s” – a stunning collection of tour photos, stagediving madness, flyers and memorabilia from the legendary furious years! The best visual document on INDIGESTI ever made to date, carefully assembled down to the smallest detail under the direct supervision of all the original band members, in a wonderful edition that justifies the slightly higher price than our average. Essential Italian hardcore delivered with unmatched energy and originality! Watch the trailer HERE

RAW POWER “Screams from the gutter” gatefold LP  (F.O.A.D. 051)

F.O.A.D. Records keeps up the unbreakable legacy with Italy’s absolute Hardcore heroes Raw Power giving to their most classic album “Screams from the gutter” a proper deluxe edition, a total quality-care version that makes justice to this timeless Hardcore milestone! Many of you will agree that this is the finest Italian HC offering ever made and easily one of the 10 world’s best Hardcore records of the 80’s.. over 40.000 copies sold and still sounding fresh and up-to-date even when compared to modern HC standards. FOAD’s treatment for this all time colossus consists of a thick glossy gatefold sleeve featuring lyrics and rare/unreleased photos and flyers, a square A2 replica of their cult gig-poster with Cro-Mags and Motörhead + a scrupolous mastering that respects in detail the original reel’s sound leaving full breathe and dynamics to its original impact and (raw) power! 17 gems of intense, no-frills HC with a bombastic drummer, fantastic guitar riffs and angry vocals. It’s a difficult comparison with their other early output – “You Are The Victim” and the excellent material released by BCT – but after all “Screams From The Gutter” marks Raw Power’s peak due to its superior production. The band’s simple yet instantly memorable riffs bring to mind Black Flag, Circle Jerks, but also earlier groups like the Who, AC/DC, and of course, the Stooges. Throw in some cool harmonics, rockin’ solos, a cowbell, and a guitar player with hell-shriek vocals and you have this flawless Hardcore classic!! Watch the trailer HERE

Available in the following versions:

Diehard neon-yellow vinyl with green and purple splattering, limited to 150 copies

Solid black vinyl limited to 250 copies

KRUNCH “Vi kåm från timrå, vi!” LP  (F.O.A.D. 319)

Official reissue of the band’s cult demotape 1984 originally titled “När varje steg är ett snedsteg” (literally translated “When every step is a misstep”)… for the first time on vinyl! 18 songs of intense, energy-driven Swedish hardcore, still sounding fresh and highly entertaining to this day. Formed in 1982 in the small Sundsvall area suburb called Timra, KRUNCH were taking the best elements of early ’80s Scandinavian raw punk and refining them into a powerful and instantly catchy blend all their own, combined with a sense of humor very much related to their area. If you’re wondering how we came up with the idea of reissuing this killer demo, it’s the result of a chat with Rich Walker (Sore Throat, Solstice) about what are the best demotapes from the 80s that are undiscovered classics and have not yet received a due vinyl edition… Completely remastered from the band’s archival tapes. Comes with a replica of the original cassette j-card as insert. Watch the trailer HERE
