Hmm… okay… I love Spark sisters! I already loved London from the first book of the series! That hard working, tough, caring woman absolutely deserved her own book. And her love interest Jackson Hoyt, charming CEO, strictly professional business man who rejects office romance is also extremely likable hero earned several brownie points!
London meets Jackson at a bar. Sparks start flying between them but London rejects dating with him because she already carries too much on her plate, focusing on her business life and a few months later she meets the same charming guy as a potential partner who has his own multi billion dollar company.
Well, they eventually start working together. But nearly first third of the book we witness their business transactions and stuck with extra corporate terms more than romantic dialogues and sweet banters we get used to read at several romcoms. Are those guys too strict to talk about lighter subjects? Yeap, it seems like it.
After you pass the first third, their relationship blooms a little but still slowly. So you get to be patient!
Normally I give three stars to this book because of extra business jargon that truly exhausted and extra slow pacing of romance also disappointed me. But I loved both of the characters and I loved the way how they handle their own baggages from their pasts. So I gave extra half star to round up 3.5 to 4 sparking, love at workspace, slow burn stars!
I didn’t love this book as much as the first one but it was still fun to return back to Spark sisters’ universe! Looking forward to read the sequel!

the plot of this sequel reminds of that generic modern romance book that has been written time and time again. youve seen it before - theres always a talk, dark, handsome model smouldering and wearing a suit on the cover. and maybe youve read it before - millionaire CEO from NYC works with small town down-to-earth girl and they struggle to keep their relationship strictly professional.
the main difference with this book is the main love interest isnt an alphahole. lol. hes actually sweet and caring and i love that HH gave him a gentle side. no bossy guy who doesnt take no for an answer here and i cant tell you how refreshing that is. not that those other books arent entertaining (because ive read loads of them), but this just feels more genuine to me. london and jackson are just so cute together and, because of that, i actually think i like this sequel more than the first book!
cant wait to read about the third spark sister next!

This book was absolutely charming!! I read the first book in this series, When Sparks Fly, and I adored it! So when I saw book #2 was coming out, I was so excited to get my hands on an early copy! Of course, this book did not disappoint! I loved jumping back into the Sparks sisters life. And, boy oh boy, London and Jackson brought the heat and spark. The storyline was interesting, kept you turning the pages, and the book left you with a smile on your face!! Avery did annoy me a little bit in this book being so demanding of her sisters and business oriented. I’m sure there will be a book #3 featuring Harley and I’m already looking forward it! Even though this is a part of a series, this book could be read as a stand alone.

Starry-Eyed Love
by Helena Hunting is the second book in the Spark House contemporary romance series. This one combines romance and humor in an engaging and fun story. London Spark has just broken up with her latest boyfriend and is out celebrating her single status with her sisters Avery and Harley. When an attractive man pays for their food and drink and slips her his number, she turns him down. A few months later, a multi-million-dollar company calls and asks for a meeting to learn more about Spark House, the event hotel owned and managed by the three sisters, and see if it would be a good addition to their network. During the meeting, the company’s CEO, Jackson Holt, walks in soon after London starts her presentation. She eventually realizes that he is the man she had rejected at the bar a few months ago.
London and Jackson are both well-developed characters with a lot of depth. Both also have flaws which make them seem even more realistic. The secondary characters have varying degrees of depth that is applicable for their roles in this story line.
The author provides a look at a love that blooms slowly between the two main characters. The prose is well-written, touching at times, and humorous at other times. There is a lot of focus on family, friendship, hard work, and communication with a few romantic scenes in the last third of the novel. While there is an immediate attraction, they maintain a more professional relationship until after an event where Jackson takes an active role rather than members of his team. This is a romance that takes time to develop and flourish. There are several other serious themes that play a role in this story as well. These include grief, work/life balance, lack of transparency, dreams, goals, loss of a relationship, and listening to others.
Overall, this was an entertaining, appealing, and delightful novel with some humor. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Starry-eyed Love by Helena Hunting
2nd book in the Spark House series. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone. This is the second sister’s story and will be a spoiler if the first book was not read. Multiple POV with 80% by London and 20% by Jackson. First person present tense.
Hailey and her sisters run an Hotel that specializes specifically in Events and focusing on promoting green habits. Jackson brings his company to the Sparks Hotel and he and London can’t resist the chemistry and attraction they both feel.
I loved the instant chemistry from the start and what feels like fate bringing them together. The sisters dedication to the business and each other is admirable and without spoilers, their “talk”should have been earlier but at least it was finally done. And I didn’t really agree with the drama at the height of it (throwing a quarter million dollar necklace at his feet was a crime for the faceted sparkle!) but it’s a romance book and everything can’t go right all the time or it would be a boring book. Right?
I enjoyed the sisters closeness and look forward to reading the romance of the next sister.
Delightful, a bit steamy, and a fabulous ending with epilogue.
🎧 I read an ecopy first and listened to an audiobook version subsequently. The audiobook is narrated by Stella Bloom and Jason Clarke. They are the same narrators as the first book in the series but this story is a different couple. While they both are very good in the performance, they sounded exactly the same from book to book so if moving directly from book 1 to book 2, it could be confusing. Stella does a good job between her sisters voices but when it came to Selene, the voice was exactly the same as Hailey which was momentarily a bit confusing. The good thing with the audio is that you know when the switch is made from Hailey’s perspective to Jackson because of the male and female narrators.
I listened to this at 1.3. Anything higher was too fast for me to understand the female narrator.
I love a good audiobook and this certainly was. But because of the character change I preferred the ebook in this instance which is opposite of my thoughts on the first book.
Both are a wonderful story and romance so go with your preferred format.

This is a Romance, and this is the second book in the Spark House series. This is London's romance, and I really loved getting to know her character. This book was a cute romance with some steamy times, but it had great characters that fit together so well. I really love the cute banter between the two main characters. I love the mix of romance and business in this book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (St. Martin's Griffin) or author (Helena Hunting) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. She’s put her life on hold to keep the Spark house running smoothly. London really doesn’t have much of a choice. Her sister Avery is self-consumed, with nothing on her mind other than her own wedding.
When a business opportunity brings her face to face with the very wealthy entrepreneur Jackson, let’s just say ‘sparks fly.’
Will business get in the way, or will true love conquer all?
This was a great addition to the series, though book one featuring Avery was my favorite. Fingers crossed there will be one more book in this series, with the youngest sister Harley in the spotlight. She’s sweet and quirky and I think the author could have a lot of fun spicing up her love life.
I listened to the audio version and both narrators did a fantastic job!

Book 2 of the Spark House trilogy follows London and Jackson.
Featuring ~ dual 1st person POV, billionaire, office~ish romance, slow burn, minimal steamage
London is in charge of business planning at the Spark House. When she gets a call to meet with Holt Media the sisters are thrilled for the opportunity to bring more business to the hotel. She wasn't expecting the owner of the company, Jackson, to be the man that she declined a date with 3 months prior.
Jackson is a self made billionaire and owner of Holt Media. He's mostly down to earth and not overly billionaire~ish, expect he does frequent his private jet back and forth from NY to CO a little too much for someone who's into being green.
I always enjoy the dual POV writing. London and Jackson were both lovable characters. And I really liked that London also has a side business on Etsy. Although she's fully committed to being in business with her sisters she doesn't want it to fully engulf her life and be 24/7. Which is understandable since she has a hottie she can't get enough of. Side bar ~ Avery was awful in this one, I definitely enjoyed her more in her own story.
We dive more into the hotel in this one, than we did in book 1, which was nice. It's a slow burn romance since they had a working relationship for a few months before they gave into their temptations. I liked that they didn't want to muddy the waters.
I listened to this one back to back with book 1 with the same narrators. Although Jason Clarke & Stella Bloom did a fine job again, it might have been nice if there were a different set of narrators since these were different characters.
I am really looking forward to the final book Make a Wish, Harley's story, which will be out in January 24, 2023.

I totally agree with that blurb. Definitely charming, I laughed a few times, lots of emotion and angst. This was a perfect read to start summer.
London has recently broken up with her boyfriend and is celebrating being single with her sisters. She helps run her family’s hotel, the Spark House. She’s busy keeping her business afloat, when a mysterious man asks her out, and she blows him off. She’s too busy for that right now.
Months later a large company reaches out to the hotel about a partnership, and who is leading that business but Jackson, the guy London rejected before. As they work together, their dynamic shifts. But it’s not always that simple, is it?
I was interested and invested in London and Jack. I loved the Spark sisters. I have not read the first book, When Sparks Fly, but I didn’t find that it mattered. Starry-Eyed Love is a page-turner while also being a slower-building romance. It was a sweet and uplifting love story in the end. Now I need to read the first book and eagerly await a third for Harley’s story!

She got stuck in the role where she handles all the business and financial side of things, but is not very comfortable with it so she spends a lot of time preparing for meetings and talks with clients that wouldn’t be needed by someone more familiar with that sort of work. She also has an Etsy store on the side where she gets to be creative.
The Hero: Jackson Holt - The billionaire founder of Holt Media. Prior to that he became wealthy as an app developer. He is famous for developing a few social media apps, including a dating app. His company is very green focused puts together small green businesses and wants to work with Spark House on some events.
The Story: London is just getting over of a relationship when she first meets Jackson at a bar, where he pays their tab and approaches her. She rebuffs him by telling him she is in a relationship and thinks she will never see him again. Fast forward three months and she meets Jackson while she is doing a presentation and he immediately puts her on the spot. She thinks he is disgruntled at her for turning him down three months ago.
As usual, Helena Hunting does an awesome job at creating a world and characters that are engaging and entertaining. The book is told in dual points of view and the audiobook is narrated by Jason Clarke and Stella Bloom whom also did the narrations for When Sparks Fly. Jason Clarke is one of my favorite male narrators with a deep and gravelly voice that is perfect for any Hero and Stella bloom has a fast talking voice that works well for London who is a bit anxious and plagued by some self-doubt.
I like that London and Jackson can’t seem to stay away from each other despite both of them insisting on having a professional relationship. London is endearing in that she is so unsure of herself but really has no reason to be. Jackson is a take charge kind of guy who really sees her inside and out. The book has plenty of romance, steam, jealousy, great characters and more.

I was enjoying this one a lot but for some reason I got so annoyed and sidetracked by the kind of ex drama later in the book. That's not something I usually love in books and even though I enjoyed these characters and the storyline for the most part, that really tampered my love for this story.

I’m not sure what it was about this book that just really made me happy. But Hunting certainly hit the mark with this one.

This was so much better than book 1! I mean, I’m a sucker for office romances and this was pretty much what I was in the perfect mood for. Starry-Eyed Love is the second standalone in the Spark House series, about a group of sisters who own an event hotel, and this is the middle sister's romance.
One night, when London and her sisters are out at a bar, a very handsome guy buys them drinks and tries to give London his number... but she says no thanks. Cut to a few months later, a big multi-million dollar company wants to work with Spark House and the CEO is none other than the guy London turned down, Jackson. He still wants more from her though, so there’s plenty of tension when they do have to work together.
It’s an office romance in the way that London and Jackson work together professionally but from different companies and it was a really sweet read! It’s not too conflict-heavy or angsty other than them trying to keep things professional and some sister drama. Both main characters were great – London is part of a family-owned business who also has a passion for creativity, and Jackson is a millionaire CEO yet is very down to earth and is a sweetheart. It's a light and fun read and I definitely liked the hero here a lot more than in the first book.

Lots of rich, handsome corporate Scions charm and dazzle attractive, down-to-earth young ladies, but this one was better than most.
I loved the setting, sisters, and anxiety-laden heroine. For the most part the two POV chapters worked, although the rich dude was at times a little too perfect. And his best buddy? Not my fave character at all.
That said, it was a fun getaway from mysteries and the slight miseries of a summer cold.

I'm terribly sorry for the poor review, but I cannot finish this book. I've struggled through to the 25% point, and I quit.
If this book is funny or romantic... when does that part start?
On what strange planet is it considered fun to read a book that is so full of business plan minutiae that it makes you feel like you're still at the office reading the darn thing? I signed up for a romance, not a business handbook! I've sat through her business goals, corporate plans, the small details of planning an upcoming charity auction and the description of the property grounds. Blah, blah, blah... Is there ever going to be any story?
Oh... they do like a good charcuterie board now and then. No variety there either unfortunately. And they also like some really great corporate jargon that set my teeth on edge. Teamology?! Ugh.
I'm not trying to be mean, truly. But this book is not worth reading- so far at least. An editor should have politely told the author to cut out all of the unnecessary detail that no one cares about and get down to writing the story.
I basically have no opinion about the H because he's barely said anything of substance, and the h seems like a neurotic mess. I'll pass on the rest of this. My sincere apologies to the author, but I know you can do better than this.

This is the first book I’ve read from this particular romance author but I have seen her name around quite a bit so wanted to check it out. I think it may be on me for not realizing it wasn’t quite a trope I would fully enjoy myself but I was willing to try. The book is fine, well written and actually has plenty of cute moments but I found myself unengaged and didn’t really think there was too much special about the story itself.
Starry-Eyed Love follows London Sparks (whoof! What a name) who turns down an attractive man at a bar while she is out getting break up drinks. Several months later, the same man is revealed to be Jackson Holt, the CEO of a green company that is trying to partner with London’s family hotel business. Sparks fly but they can’t act on their attraction while working together.
So, first off, I probably should have stepped away when I realized this was like a ‘billionaire’ romance trope. Not to get too political but romance books is not what I mean when I say fuck billionaires. At least here, Jackson as our lead is pretty average and has a good ‘green’ message (though pretending you taking your private jet to visit this woman every week and fly her out all the time is green is really breaking my suspension of disbelief). He doesn’t fall into the life of privilege and better-than-thou attitude. He’s nice, he's just rich. Since that was his trope though, and he was simply nice, he just wasn’t THAT interesting.
London was a good main character. I liked her as a person, and her constant fidgeting and social anxiety was relatable. Though those traits seem to lessen through the story. I liked her relationship with her younger sister, who I am guessing the next book will be about but I did not like her older sister, who the first book was about. I will not be reading that book as the character was wholly unlikable in this one. I wonder if the author realized they would come across so badly if you hadn’t heard her own perspective before. Because her entire personality seemed to be sports, her own wedding, and ignoring her sister’s pleas for help.
They have really great banter and some cute moments before they get together (spoiler? Its a romance…I don’t think that counts?). Once they do get together, there is of course, my second hated trope: the third act miscommunication trope. Ugh. You will be able to see this fall out coming from a mile away. Though I did like the resolution.
Also, please cool it with the ‘she bit her lip’. If I drank every time she did this I would be DEAD.
Overall, this book was an easy listen and had some cute moments and at least likable main characters. But I just personally wasn’t a huge fan because it wasn’t quite my wheelhouse. I would definitely still try the author’s other works as (other than lip biting overuse) the writing is really good.

My Review: It's a very, very different experience to read a straight-people romance than my usual M/M reads. In this case, I think I came in after some character work had already been done in the first Spark House book, When Sparks Fly, on this entry's PoV character. London Spark, to those who might not know her from before, is a rather serious-minded and goal-oriented participant in a family enterprise called Spark House. It is an event hotel-cum-venue, and London has somehow been foisted the job of numbers lady. She's not a natural number-cruncher but she knows about sacrificing for a greater goal and gets her considerable wits marshaled to the task of making the finances run.
I, like all other readers, am meeting Jackson the love interest with London. He lets her know he's interested without being more than ordinarily persistent. She declines; he leaves her possessed of his details and accepts his rejection without drama. So far, so good. When a time has passed and Spark House attracts business interest from a tech-bro investor, one who's made to sound like Elon only hot, absolutely not one soul is surprised it's Jackson the rejected suitor.
We know this drill: what's going to happen, the misunderstandings, the idiotic miscommunications, the resolution of HEA or HFN; so the point of reading this book is *how* not what.
The satisfaction of a superior craftworker's results is this very thing. Now, the M/M romance world will usually have something very sexy pretty early. Not so this book. London's been burned and isn't in a huge hurry to try the waters with a tech bro. She is, once he shows back up as a potential financing source, perfectly happy to work with him. They come to know each other, and the readers each of them, as their work brings out facets of their lives quite naturally and unforcedly. Again to no one's surprise Jackson is a good guy, and he's got a solid head on his shoulders; he comes to like and respect London, he fully engages with her as an equal in business (if one with different skills from his); the result is a slow-burn low-steam character study of two young people whose lives are pressurized by goals instead of ambitions.
Why I enjoyed reading it enough to rate it more than a solid three or possibly three-and-a-half stars of five was London's affectionate but exasperated relationships with older sister Avery and younger sister Harley. They were...warm. They didn't ring swords of wit in battles for prominence, they half-ribbed and three-quarters snarked and generally behaved the way friends do. It worked to give me a sense of their bond that was less intense than the Three Musketeers and more positive than the Three Stooges but still very real.
You can't go wrong with a read that does this kind of work when one accidentally reads book two in a series. I am glad I spent time with the Spark family.

Starry- Eyed Love is a romantic sweet romance. Miss Hunting did not add too much plot in the story. I still like the main characters. Both Jackson and Landon are sk cute. Especially Jackson.
I am expecting something much more from Miss Hunting. Especially some twist in the plot. But hey, it is still a good book.

I adored this couple! I have a thing for the very, rich heroes and the woman they ultimately fall for. I think most of it is because they can have any woman they want, so when they do fall for someone, you know they are special. Jackson made it known from the very beginning that London was special and I loved that. I also just really liked who Jackson was. Even when he messed up, I still loved him.
London was also very, easy to like. I already liked her from the first book, but as we got to know her more as the main character, I liked her even more. I like that she didn't just fall at Jacksons feet. I do enjoy a guy chase girl story. And even though London isn't poor, she isn't anywhere near the income level as Jackson and I think she handled the difference with class. She really just treated him like a guy she has a crush on.
This ended up turning out to be a slow burn, and it was a very good slow burn. The attraction just built and built as the story went along and it really makes the reader excited to finally see these two make the next move. The anticipation is strong in this.
I'm really excited now for Harley, the final sisters book. I can't wait to see who's going to sweep her off her feet.

I love the whole setting of this series. The family hotel - which they took over from their grandma.
And it's so cute how they try to not start anything as long as they're in business together.
It's a real adorable cinderella kind of love story with him being this ultra rich guy flying her to New York for a night ...
They should've probably talked a bit more about things. It was really cute but I kinda hate that we had so many unnecessary misunderstandings or omissions that could've just been cleared with some talking.
But still - I loved reading it. I love the sisters - even though I wanted to throw Avery out every single window with the way she was acting all through the book! Jeez!
Can't wait to read the final book!

This is the second book in a romantic comedy series, but I hadn’t read the first book and still greatly enjoyed the second one. London has just ended a lackluster relationship and is with her sisters celebrating her new single status when a strange man buys their drinks and asks her out. She politely declines and slides his number back to him. Fast forward a few months and London is doing an important presentation to help grow the family event hotel business and the CEO stops in to join the meeting and London realizes it’s the man from the bar - super rich and successful Jackson Holt. Of course sparks instantly fly but they are doing business together and both are remaining professional. It has some nice humor, sweet scenes and of course some fairly predictable bumps in their relationship, but overall it was an enjoyable book.

It was kind of just our heroine pining over our hero and our hero being super cold LMAO I felt really no chemistry between our two characters.

I absolutely loved Jackson and London. Their chemistry leapt of the pages, and I loved the slow burn pace of the book.

I don't know how this happened, but it felt like I had just started Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting, and then it was over! I sped through this second installment of the Spark House series and even ended up enjoying it a bit more than the first. The audiobook is narrated by the same people that narrated When Sparks Fly (Jason Clarke & Stella Bloom), and I thought they fit the characters much better this time around. The story centers on another Spark sister, this time London, and her love interest Jackson. I am pretty sure I could never get sick of Clarke's voice, and it seemed really fitting for the influential CEO Jackson Holt. Both Clarke and Bloom's narration was incredibly smooth for this audiobook, and I highly recommend listening to it!
I loved being back in the Spark House world, and I really liked the fact this was a bit more of a family drama as well as a romance. There is a dash of spice as well, but I did think some of Hunting's verbiage was a little odd. Probably not words I would have picked if I were writing these scenes, but they got the point across just the same. It was really interesting seeing the dynamics between the sisters change a bit in Starry-Eyed Love, and I feel like they all grew as characters for me even with the other two sisters both being secondary characters this time around. And did I mention this series is set in Colorado? I love that I get to recognize the cities Hunting mentions, and it is always fun reading about somewhere you live. I will definitely be continuing on with this series, and I am hoping the next book will be centered around our final sister in the family.

Not her usual romance yet it was great.First of all I liked the way they met and how their romance started.London and Jackson were so great together , I loved the relationship they developed.
This was a sweet story a little bit slow in some parts but I loved the characters even the secondary, London's sisters.London was a great heroine, I loved her and Jackson was so good.He liked her from the beginning.

Starry-Eyed Love by Helena Hunting is the second book in her Spark House series, but can be read as a stand-alone book. This fun contemporary romance is just a bit steamy, and a lot of romantic fantasy all in one book.
London Spark is out at the local pub with her two sisters, as they dissect London’s recent breakup with her boyfriend. When a handsome but somewhat scruffy man asks out London, she has to refuse. It’s too close to her breakup and she’s not in the market for a new relationship. But, three months later, she attends a business meeting, and when it’s interrupted by the CEO of the company, London is stunned to realize that the CEO is the same man who asked her out all those months ago.
Jackson Holt is the CEO of Holt Media and is intrigued by the charming woman who runs Spark House with her sisters. But, he learned from experience never to mix business with pleasure so he vows to keep away from the charming London Spark.
As with the previous Spark House book, I enjoyed the sisters and their bond. They work, laugh, and support each other. They lost their parents a few years back and they are determined to continue the legacy of their parents and grandparents. In Starry-Eyed Love, they find a few cracks in this bond, but they don’t allow it to break them.
The romance is a bit of a slow burn, but once it heats up, it’s full-on. Jackson is a rich CEO and he’s able to woo London with expensive trips and gifts, but he’s still a down-to-earth guy who always remembers his simple roots. He has wonderful friends and is especially close to his childhood best friend, Trent.
