About this listen

Can you keep a secret?

I grew up sick.⁣ Let me clarify: I grew up believing that real love stories include a martyr or demand great sacrifice to be worthy.⁣ Because of that, I believed it, because I made myself believe it, and I bred the most masochistic of romantic hearts, which resulted in my illness.⁣ When I lived this story, my own twisted fairy tale, it was unbeknownst to me at the time because I was young and naïve. I gave into temptation and fed the beating beast, which grew thirstier with every slash, every strike, every blow.⁣

Triple Falls wasn’t at all what it seemed, nor were the men that swept me under their wing. But in order to keep them, I had to be in on their secrets.⁣ Secrets that cost us everything to keep.⁣ That’s the novelty of fiction versus reality. You can’t re-live your own love story, because by the time you’ve realized you’re living it, it’s over. At least that was the case for me and the men I trusted my foolish heart to.⁣ Looking back, I’m convinced I willed my story into existence, due to my illness, and all were punished.

The Ravenhood trilogy is a gritty, modern-day take on Robin Hood filled with suspense, thrills, and all the feels.

This book was amazing. The passion, and the characters have so much depth.
I have to go, read it again.

This review is for the three book series.
I waited to start until all three books were on Audible and I’m glad I did! The wait would’ve driven me crazy!
The first book was the lightest. It was spicy and fun and started laying the groundwork for the twists. It tells the story of Cecelia, Sean and Dominic. It also lays the groundwork for the Ravens and the story with Roman.
The second book introduces Tobias into the story. It does not have the light, fun, flirtiness that book one has. It is much more substance and not as much good-times. This is the book that will make you sob. Be warned.
The third book is the unraveling of the twists in order to give the reader the entire story…all of the secrets are revealed, all of the motivations are explained. All loose ends are tied up…except who gave her the necklace.
The entire story is deep and twisty and angsty and rich.
The performances were incredible.
Maxine was terrific. Her tone and reactions were great. The emotion she put in to every scene was a perfect representation of what the character was feeling.
Joe Arden. Wow. I’ve always been a big fan and Joe is a one-click for me but…this was an entirely different Joe Arden. The different voices and personas he created for these men were superb. And the French accent! Wow. The emotion and passion he conveyed gave me goosebumps. Utter perfection.
It should be said that the editing was great also. The way the dialogue was cut together really elevated the scenes.
Overall, this audiobook was superlative in every way.

And the Audie goes to…Joe Arden! 🎉

Not at all what I expected and wasn’t sure I would stick with it but the story pulled me in and the performers were amazing, although Cecilia sounded, spoke and behaved way older than an 18 year old. (What 18 year old calls the inside of a car a “cabin”??) As soon as it ended I grabbed and started Book 2. If you’re put off by language and soft porn you should probably take a pass as it gets pretty graphic!

Wow!!

Most of my dislike for this story centers around Cecilia. The narration however was fantastic. I've listened to books read by multiple people but never cut together like this one and it's probably what kept me going to the end of this book.

Story was Ok, narration was excellent

I know. 5 stars. They had to be rewarded because I just couldn’t put this oddly appealing book down. The beginning was a bit whiny and I almost ditched it, but once she starts working in the factory, and the mystery of the Raven sub-culture is introduced, I got curious. And then I felt actual butterflies in my stomach—a weird, not normal experience for me—but I suppose part of my mental landscape is comprised of both a wizened, feminist professor *and* a fourteen-year-old girl who lost her mother. So, yeah, I’m both arrested and wise. Both of these traits need exercise, and art is the way I let them commune.

Too much? TMI (as the kids say?!), well, now you know why my reading tastes vary broadly, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

To clarify: this book features a 19-yo protagonist who is both an old soul and perfectly naive because of —well—the usual reasons (abandonment, reconnection, broken hearts, an aloof father). She stumbled upon a secret group. It’s hard to resist speculating about the secret (at least for me). There is some serious love hammering throughout—non-traditional—and I found it quite refreshing. She has agency—she gives it away, takes it back. I don’t know. I’ve never read anything else like it.

File Under: A Group of Ravens is Called. . .

I loved the story line and I loved the characters. I listen to the first book and I couldn't wait for book 2 & 3 to come out on audible so I read both of them within a few days of each other. I won't give anything away, but let's just say I can't get enough of all of the characters and how everything played out. This was the first book of Kate Stewart I've read or listen to but I will be looking for more. Thank you Ms. Stewart for an awesome experience.

One of the best stories I've ever read/heard

I loved this book so much. The story was great and not predictable. The performance was good minus the male voice didn’t really customize to male characters so that was a bit hard to follow when they all sound the same. All in all highly recommend.
