How do I start, I am faced with the fact that after just finding my Father, I now have to put him to rest RESPECTFULLY. I received a call today, letting me know that my father took his last breath this morning. Afterwards I found out that my fathers "Brother" told the police that they wanted NOTHING to do with his body and that he didn't know who would want it or where his next to kin was located, when in fact he knew how to get ahold of me. This in turns means that he would've been turned over to "The State" and after 10 days if I didn't claim him, he will be cremated and pretty much dumped in the trash. I claimed my fathers body at 5pm this even and was given 10 days to come up with $1000 for the cremation or he becomes the states and they do as they please. I unfortunately don't have $1000 just sitting around or the money to get to NC to pick up his ashes should I come up with the money. With my father being sick, I wasn't able to see him when I met my Brother for the first time ever. I was planning a trip to go see my father in the near future due to the fact that he was just released from the hospital, where he almost pass away while there. All I ever wanted was to see my father ONE TIME as a man and although I'll never get to shake his hand in person, it would mean EVERYTHING to me to not only get to see him but also shake his hand and bring him home. I'm not one to really reach out and ask for help but I'm now on my knees begging for it. I need this closure and I CANT allow my father to be thrown away YET AGAIN, as his birth parents did as well as his adoptive parents did. PLEASE help me get this closure and bring my father home. Everything helps and although it's more than the $1000 for the cremation, I'll need to make a trip to NC and stay in a hotel while I wait for the process and then I'll need to get back home. Again, I'm on my knees begging for some help. Thank you in advance and I promise to pay it forward
