It started with a dream.

Hi, I'm Erik.

I love telling stories.

When I was a kid, I didn't have a lot of friends.

To entertain myself, I used to love to sit next to my record player on my bedroom floor and play my 45s. While I changed the records, I would dream up stories and tell them into a hockey stick that in my imagination was a microphone.

By the time I was 16, I was on the air every weekend telling stories and playing music at the local rock radio station.

After this early taste of storytelling success, I got a BA in acting and set design, hoping to tell more and better stories. I loved acting but in my heart I knew I couldn't move to LA or NYC.

I decided to follow the advice of my aunt — an Oscar-nominated actress — “You’re young. Go live your dreams. Then bring those stories back to your work.”

Chasing dreams makes great stories.

My wildest dream was to live in a cabin in the wilderness.

Today, I'm living that dream here in Northern California. In my work as a certified mindfulness teacher, I'm helping folks find and live their dreams. Listen To Sleep is a project I started in my spare time in 2019 that has grown and taken on a life of its own.

I'm so grateful for all of you who listen and share the podcast with your friends. Thanks to you, every week, I get to tell stories to thousands of people all over the world, and I've made so many wonderful new friends.

Want to help me tell more stories?

If you'd like to help me realize my dream of devoting more time to Listen To Sleep, I'd love your support and offer the podcast ad-free and a day earlier to all supporters for less than $3 a month. There are other perks available too, like an extra story every week.

Or you can get an audiobook of some of the longer books I've read to download and share with family and friends.

If you have any questions or requests, feel free to email me directly, and I'll be sure to get back to you.

Thanks so much for listening.

Sleep well.💜
