When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, artists could not perform live, so we streamed their virtual concerts for months. Since then, artists have started to perform as normal again.

In June 2022, Spotify launched a Live Events feed to help you find upcoming events near you. Want to learn how to use it? Continue reading to get started.

How to Find Live Events in the Spotify App

Remember Spotify Concerts, Spotify's feature that helped you find virtual shows to stream during the COVID-19 pandemic? That's no longer a thing. As of June 2022, Spotify has replaced the feature with a Live Events feed to help you find live concerts in your area, making it one of the best apps to discover events happening around you.

To search for live concerts near you, open the Spotify app on your mobile and tap Search at the bottom of the screen. Type "live events" in the search bar, and then tap Live Events, which should be the first search result you get.

This will take you to Spotify's Live Events feed, where you can browse all upcoming shows around you. The feed is straightforward; simply scroll down to view all the events listed.

Tap the event you're interested in to view additional info like dates, times, venues, and the artist lineup. Tap the green Find tickets button to book. This action takes you to the partner site in your browser. At the time of writing, Spotify's Live Events feature only works on the mobile app.

How to Change Your Location for Live Events on Spotify

Spotify allows you to change your location in the Live Events feed in case you're searching for events for an upcoming trip or if you're out of town and want to attend a show nearby. At the top of the Live Events feed, you'll see your location. Tap it and type the location you want to switch to in the search bar.

Select the correct location on the list and start browsing all the events in that area. Follow the same steps to switch back to your primary location.

How Spotify's Live Events Feed Works

Spotify's Live Events feed works by partnering with ticketing issuers like Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and more. You don't have to leave the app to search for events in your browser. Instead, you can search for them on the platform you use to stream music.

In fact, Spotify will even show you an artist's upcoming shows while you're streaming their music, helping you stay updated on where your favorite artists will be playing. Spotify also wants to show you events you're likely to attend, so it recommends events based on your listening habits.

If you want to receive updates about events nearby, simply tap the notification bell next to your location in the Live Events feed and choose how you prefer to receive notifications. Will you be attending any shows? Use Spotify's real-time lyrics feature to prepare for them so you don't miss a beat.

Stay in the Loop With Spotify’s Live Events Feed

If you've been looking forward to attending concerts from the artists you always have on your playlists, Spotify's Live Events feed helps you find shows in your area. It provides you with the information you need to decide if you want to go.

Just make sure you turn notifications on for your location, so you won't have to keep checking the app for updates.
