Fall Twice

Rate this book
When Lena rekindles a friendship with a former flame during her favorite season, it leads to a healing revelation for them both.

It was supposed to be one coffee. That's what you do when you're a divorced mom and decide to message an old college fling. Except Reid is now the professor that college students say is irresistible, and he just happens to live in the town I am moving to (found out after the fact, I swear!). I tell myself it doesn't matter, that I locked up and buried my feelings for Reid long ago. So, it only makes sense to catch up over pumpkin-spiced lattes, and by the time the barista kicks us out at closing, we realize we could both use a friend right now—each other.

The spark between us should have been my warning.

Our encounters remind me of a different time, and the attraction between us lingers in the air. It doesn't take long before the dear professor is skipping grading papers in favor of having me in his bed. But I have reasons to guard my heart, and for once I'm the one in control of our dynamic. And somewhere during the changing season, we ponder the idea that maybe, in life, we are meant to fall in love twice…

Fall Twice is a complete standalone second-chance novella that celebrates the season of change, Autumn. It will give you all the feels with a dose of steam. Ideal for lovers of pumpkins, single-parent romance, and sexy professors.

Evey writes heartwarming romances with steamy moments, often in small-town settings with an element of sports. An American from the Midwest, she now lives in a tiny country in Europe where it rains a lot. That is probably why she occupies her days typing away on her laptop with music on repeat and slow-roast coffee nearby. Oh, and she vows to never break up with cake.

Lena is divorced and decides to move cross county for a fresh start, with her 6-year-old son, and when she reaches out to an old college hook-up, Reid stays in the same suburb, and is eager to catch up as well. This is a well written quick read, which is a sweet 2nd chance romance, with tension, and love, which leads to an entertaining and heartwarming story.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Second chances, single mom, fresh new start in a new city where surprisingly an old college fling lives. Lena and Reid had a connection in college but it nothing serious. They parted ways and years later, Lena in a marriage, a kiddo, a great career but her marriage comes to an end. She needs a new start with her little boy, and moves to a quaint little city. Guess who else is there???? Reid, college fling.

These two are pretty sweet together. You could feel their connection and also their hesitation. These two have quite the chemistry and love for each other. I enjoyed it.

A sweet second-chance romance that will have you wanting to move to Hollows, IL and find your HEA. Fall Twice is a wonderful second-chance, small-town romance that tells the story of two people who have had a hard time in life lately and reconnect after years apart and not really keeping in touch. Lena is starting life over after a divorce and with her young son, moving to Hollows and starting a full-time job as well as getting her son settled are the only things on her mind. That is until she reaches out to an old fling, Reid, that happens to live in the same town. He has never really left her thoughts and the idea of connecting with him has her feeling happy. Reid is teaching at the local college and has had a health scare and is also recently single. The two of them have this connection that time has not seemed to have had an effect on. The more time they spend together the more they realize that maybe this was their fate, future and meant to be.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and it left me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I recommend picking up Fall Twice and falling in love with Reid and Lena

A quick second chance read is one of my favorite things, and this author can write a small town that I can easily vision.

Lena is making changes in her life after divorce. She is relocating to the town of Hollows, IL, for a new start with her son. There is an ex who has never left her thoughts; a quick search on her socials and she finds him. He is also living in Hollows, IL. A message is sent, a coffee date is set, and will a friendship reform? Will they reconnect over pumpkin lattes and fall festivals? Can they fall again?

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

I am torn on 4 or 5 stars for this one. I REALLY enjoyed it. The characters felt real and were easy to fall in love with. There wasn't any unnecessary drama...just a great second chance romance about two people who find each other again and discover that maybe they weren't meant for each other back in college...but that these versions of themselves were meant to be together. Everything about this book worked great for me, including the fall vibes that I'm currently in the mood for. But...this wasn't a compulsive read, the kind I couldn't put down and just had to devour...which is usually what makes the difference between a 4 star read and a 5 star. Still highly recommend this one.

5 star Review of Fall Twice by Evey Lyons
I love single parent stories, add in that it’s set in the small town of Hollows, Illinois and it was a no brainer when this book came up to read. I have read a number of books by Evey Lyons and as with her previous books I found Fall Twice to be well written with characters whose story quickly drew me in.
The characters were engaging and you cannot help but fall for them. Lena and Reid’s journey made for an entertaining read that ticked the boxes for me. This second chance at love story was a heart warming read and although not a particularly long book, Ms.Lyon packed a lot into it.
Fall Twice was an entertaining, witty story that was also emotional at times.

“You’re mine, and I’ll be damned if I let you go this time.”

4 stars

A sweet and sexy novella with a heartfelt second-chance-romance, this book was instantly irresistible to me. I devoured it in a couple of hours, and I loved it!

Newly-divorced Lena is moving across the country with her 6-year-old son after her marriage slowly fizzled. What are the chances that she would be moving to the small suburb where her ex-college hookup lives? She and Reid were close friends in college, who became friends-with-benefits. They never discussed an actual relationship, and though Lena wanted more, she knew Reid wasn’t ready, so they enjoyed themselves together for one hot and steamy year before they went off and lived their lives. Now, it’s ten years later and when Lena reaches out to her ex-lover out of the blue, he is just as eager as she is to catch up.

Reid is now a college professor. He’s single, and has been through a bit since he and Lena parted ways. He is thrilled when she pops back into his life, and over coffees, dinners and shopping trips, they catch up on their lives, and Reid realises just how lonely and closed off his life has become now that he has Lena back breathing life back into his world.

The attraction between these two sizzles from their first encounter. They’re a little bit flirty, but also wary of their history, of what they’ve been through in the intervening years, and of their current situation. Neither of them want to jump into anything, but they don’t hide from the chemistry that still crackles between them, and I loved watching them reunite!

“I cared for you. It’s not like I could ever forget you.”

What I loved about this story is how real it felt. They don’t rush anything, there’s no wild or extravagant situation that brings them together. It’s just two old friends with a mildly complicated history finding their way back to the easy friendship that they once had. Their feelings for each other were always strong, but they never got a chance to really be together, and now they’re older, they’ve lived a little bit, and they are finally in a place where they can act on all of those feelings – flirting and teasing and building sexual tension with each and every encounter.

The wildness comes when they finally act on it, because holy hell, seemingly mild-mannered Reid is a demon in the sack, and their passion for each other is fiery and intense.

“I want to explore every inch of you, the way you are now.”

But there was a reason they didn’t get together all those years ago. And now Lena is a single mother with a little boy to consider. There’s no doubt they want each other, but they have to figure out whether they’re at the same place and ready for everything they could be, and I loved watching them do just that.

“We weren’t meant to be then, but now we have no excuse because we may just be everything we were waiting for.”

This is such a cute romance. It’s sweet, flirty and functional, Reid and Lena are so real with each other, and the chemistry and romance is gorgeous. It’s a short read, but I could still feel everything that was happening between these characters, and the book ends beautifully, with two epilogues which bring great closure.

This is right, what it’s supposed to be.
I like who I am now, I like who he is, and most of all, we are better now than then.

Such a cute read, I loved it! 4 stars!

#falltwice is the new novella standalone from @eveylyonbooks

Reid had been a good looking guy down for a good time in college. That is where he met Lena. They definitely had some chemistry, but neither was down for a relationship. After college, they went their separate ways, and occasionally commented through social media. A handful of years pass, and he is now a professor at a college and living his life. The last thing he expected was his College fling to reach out and meet up. But now that she has, old feelings have sparked, and a warm sensation in his chest won’t go away. After what he’s battled over the last couple years, is he ready to settle down or continue living the single life?

Lena never wanted to admit that she had a thing for her friends with benefits guy in college. She understood the score and didn’t want to express feelings that weren’t reciprocated. When they went their separate ways, she moved on. She even got married and had a child. But after a failed marriage, she’s now moving to a small town with her son as a newly single woman. She reaches out to Reid, who was her previous college fling. Never did she think that seeing him again would make her heart race just like it had then. Is she able to distinguish a friends only relationship after recently getting out of a marriage, or is this her second chance with her true love?

This was a cute quick read. I have really enjoyed all of the books that I have read from Evey. Reid had been through some significant life changes since the last time he saw Lena and was not the same guy he was in college. Lena had become a mom and that was her top priority. Their chemistry was wonderful. And the way that they were able to pick up as old friends right from the get-go made this bond tight. I thought that his mom was hysterical and definitely wanted more of her. Absolutely recommend for a quick fall read.

Lena Gold is a newly divorced single mom. Her ex and her share custody of her son and ended in good terms so it makes sense to relocate close to his parents in Chicago. After all the ex will also relocate to the city after a short assignment out of the country. Reid Stone is a professor and a Hollows resident. Reid and Lena dated back in college and catching up makes sense. When Lena reaches out saying she will be in town 10 years later things still feel right between them. Except they are adults and Lena has a son to think about.

My rating:☕️☕️☕️☕️(4/5)

This was such a cute novela! Lena seemed so mature and I loved that over all she was willing to put her own desires on hold for her son. I loved how even though they had known each other back in college 10 years later it felt so comfortable and right yet they were getting to know the older versions of themselves as well. Lena's discovery of his much gentler side had her and me swooning. I also loved Olive Owl made an appearance!!! I would have loved to see them take her son down to the Olive Owl pumpkin patch though! I am so glad they decided to give it a try because there was no way with that kind of chemistry that they couldn't make it work. And that epilogue!!! I was shocked two years in and they were barely trying for kids. And the fact that Reid's parents took in Oscar as their own grandson too was beyond cute.

If you love second chance romances set in small towns look no further than single mum Lena and Reid’s journey. Their story drew me in and didn’t let me go and I honestly felt like I was living alongside them in the small town of Hollows, Illinois which was down to the wonderful description of the location and the scenery from the very talented Evey Lyon’s.
Lena is getting over a divorce and is looking for a new start so while packing up to move to Hollows, she looks up all her exes on social media and what she found totally shocked her. The one man who has haunted her dreams is still living in the small town so is fate putting them in the same town for a reason…..
Reid has only sent the odd message to Lena over the years and he can’t believe it when she tells him she is moving back to town because just like her he wants to see what the future holds.
So can this couple get over theirs pasts and make a future ….one click to find out.
Fall Twice is a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch and it left dreaming of second chances, pumpkin lattes and the fall. A heartwarming novella that ticked all my boxes.

The most cosy, sexy and heartwarming novella ideal for this time of year
.
After the divorce Lena is ready to start a new chapter in her life, and while she is packing things to move to Hollows, she decides to look up all her exes on social networks and of all of them only one is the one that is still in her head and it just so happens he also lives in her new city
.
A message on social networks is the only thing he exchanged with Lena for years, but now that she tells him that she is going to be in his city, Reid sees the possibility of reconnecting with Lena after so many years. They are both at different stages of their lives and with the change of seasons and the scent of pumpkins and cinnamon in the air, anything can happen
.
A sexy, spicy and sweet novella about second chances, love and lots of fall vibes

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a wonderful second chance romance between two college exes whose timing was always really off in the past. It is a novella and celebrates fall, friendship and life. Its about taking a second chance on life and living it in color.

Lena is a single mom who is now divorced with a young son. Changes are in the air for her and she is moving to a new town with a new job and turns out her ex friends with benefits college friend, Reid lives there.

Reid is the hot college professor now who Lena is friends with online. When moving to the town she messages him so they can catch up and that begins theiir second chance friendship that possibly can end up being more.

This was a really sweet, hot and sexy romance that was low on drama but high on romance. It was a really fun trip their memories of each other, and they also made some awesome new memories.

Time changes people. So do life events. This is true for both Reid and Lena! While there is no actual place named Hollows in Illinois, the small town charm of Northern Illinois was definitely there.

Reid was a bit of a playboy. He was supposed to be married when Lena showed up…at least the last she knew he was engaged. Social media was their connection. What happens though when the one you can’t stop thinking about is single and in the town you’re moving to? Once Lena starts talking to Reid, things quickly progress in their world. There’s one person to consider though in all of it…Oscar. Lena has a son, and he comes first. So can these two get to know each other all over again, and learn the other has grown up?

This was an adorable second chance book. I couldn’t stop

OMG! If you loved her Blisswood brothers series and you love fall... this is your book!

I so loved reading this novella!
It's got love, passion, steam, a sexy professor....
Yup... I love it!

Lena has contact with some of her old frames and when she moves to another town, she rekindles with Reid, her former boyfriend.
It started with a coffee date, it ended with swimmers.

You know what's going to happen, but the story is just perfectly told with a surprise I didn’t see coming concerning Reid's health. That was just beautifully written.

This novella is the perfect one to read during fall. Bake, or buy, some pumpkin pie, get yourself a pumpkin spice latte, comfy clothes and you're good to go. Enjoy!

FALL TWICE by Evey Lyon
This was such a cute second chance romance which is one of my absolute favorite tropes. This is Lena and Reid’s story and it was so sweet and fun to read. I loved that they had history yet it was like they were meeting for the first time in a sense. Lena is starting over after a divorce, her and her son Oscar move to Hollow for a new start and a new job. Fate has brought her back into her life her college friend with benefits the one who she loved but it just wasn’t the right time for them. Reid has been living in a fog for the last few years after his life changes drastically that is until Lena walks right back into it. These two have history to work through but the chemistry and attraction is so palpable and hard to deny. It was so sweet and cute to read.

This was such a fun and sweet second chance romance. Lena is now a divorced single mom and moving to a new city for a new job. As luck would have it, Reid is a professor in the new town and Lena can't seem to get him out of her head. The hot and steamy romance they had in college ended when they graduated, Lena looking for more and Reid avoiding commitment. This was a wonderful second chance and I enjoyed reading how the characters grew and even as adults they are learning who they truly are and what they want out of life. The author did a fantastic job developing her characters separately and their story together.

This was a good second-chance/friends-to-lovers romance, and I really enjoyed it.

Lena finds herself moving, with her six-year-old son, to a small town outside of Chicago, for a job offer after getting divorced, but she finds out an old college boyfriend lives in the same town, so they meet for coffee. Thinking the other is married, they get to talking, and realize neither of them are married. Old feelings come back for both of them, and their relationship progresses from there.

This book is very well-written and realistic/believable. It's a quick read, so it didn't take long at all to read, and I would definitely recommend it.

Evey Lyon writes beautiful and emotional love stories. Reid and Lena knew each other in college, they were electric but never committed despite both caring for each other (and Lena hoping for more). They parted and went their own ways, now, a decade later, Lena is divorced with a son and moving to the same town that Reid is in. It seems the universe is giving them a second chance. Again Lena’s heart is involved early on but Reid is unsure what’s happening, he just knows it’s different than before. A moving journey with some highs and lows, steam with kid friendly sweetness, some unique side characters and a beautiful HEA.

Fall Twice by Evey Lyon.
I could not put this book down. 2am!! I had to finish this before sleeping last night. Just loved it. Lena and Reid go way back so when Lena sends a message to Reid as she’s moving funnily enough to where he’s living, she’s opening herself for all those feelings coming back. Surely a coffee with an old flame won’t do any harm?
Lena has Oscar, her son too and Reid is your typical gorgeous professor who maybe believes in falling in love twice…..

Go and download this book! This is the 4th book of Evey’s I’ve read and I’ve got to say she’s in my top 5 of authors. An easy read with the right amount of spice.

A beautiful second chance romance full of heat and passion, this may be a novella, but it was filled to the brim with everything that you could want to make your heart swoon, newly divorced Lena is about to move to a small town just outside the city, thinking that she can contact some of her old friends from college her hand hovers over the last message she had with college friends with benefit Reid who also lives in Hollows Illinois, coffee dates as Autumn takes a hold could lead to so much more if Reid and Lena are ready to get that jump!

This was the perfect second chance romance and a quick read. This author has a way with her writing and these small town romances that will have you falling head over heels in love. FALL TWICE is a sweet, swoony, and spicy second chance romance set in the small town of Hollows, Illinois. If you’re looking for a cozy fall escape, you’ve come to the right place! Lena and Reid’s story immediately hooked me and I couldn’t get enough of their story and how they found their way back to each other after all their years apart.

There is always something that draws me to second chance romance. Maybe it’s the way the main characters already know so much about the other person, or the way they rediscover each other down the road. Or maybe it’s the fact that in this second time around, our couple needs to evaluate what went wrong the first time and how they can make this second time work. In Lena and Reid’s case, this was the main topic of their new and budding relationship. They have the chemistry, but they really need to look at what the other person’s wants and needs are and if they can fit into each other’s lives for the long run.

Lena and Reid have to work through a lot of their past relationship and share who they are now as humans, but the way they find their way to one another is as sweet as it is heartwarming—but not without its hardships! This story is also perfect for fall and it had me wanting to order something pumpkin flavored at a festival while frolicking through a pile of leaves. You’ll want to check this one out if you’re in the mood for something cozy and autumnal! A big thank you to the author and Wordsmith Publicity for the advanced copy.
