Semi-hero stalker turned domestic bliss??

This story starts off with an almighty dark punch, it had my mouth open and my heart pounding with slight horror and absolute excitement on the dark depths this book was headed. I love a morally grey stalkers and Alaric is no exception. Your heart breaks for the hand Layla has been dealt, but you admire her strength to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of her little sister Zoey.

At first I could not put this book down, it was dark and deadly *pun intended*, however about 75-80% in things took a different turn into domestic bliss. I was sure this was going to be a 5 star read up until that point. I am left feeling a little conflicted however the way that the next book has been set up I am intrigued. Whilst I am conflicted, I would still recommend reading this book and I will definitely be reading the next one in the series.

Well that was alot of sex, sex and more sex 🔥

I liked this book did I love it no, was it interesting yes, did it have alot of steam.... Hell yeh.

The storyline itself just missed the mark abit for me, I didn't like the time jump at the start of the book, and that he waited so long to make a move, didn't make sense to me 🤷🏼‍♀️.

But I like the possessiveness of Alric and that Layla is a tough female character.

Zoey's book will be interesting 😉

If you love reading about anti heroes who fall into an obsession with our FMC… stalking them, caring for them behind the scenes, acting all caveman and jealous like - then this book is for you!

Alaric, despite his questionable profession, was actually a big marshmallow when it came to Layla and her little sister.

There were a lot of sweet moments in this book mixed in with the dark. Alaric was all alpha male but not afraid to show his vulnerable side with his girls.

Loved the epilogue and looking forward to Zoey and Gray’s story. Sounds juicy 🔥

This is an intense MF romance. It definitely has darkness in the back story and in the present day. I personally have no triggers so it was fine for me, but check the warnings if you have any concerns. Layla has a tough life, her mother had her as a teenager and resents her, she basically raises her little brother and sister. When everything turns bad, her mother tries to run from her stepfather with the kids in tow. A series of awful things happen, a blue eyed saviour stops Layla from dying and leaves her and her sister to carry on alone. But not really, he watches them, looks out for them and is obsessed with Layla. Alaric is not a good, safe man, but is he just what Layla needs? I'm a fan of both these authors and together they have created something wonderful. The sheer emotions, bleed through the book, into your mind as you read. This was beautiful and raw and if you like a little darkness, a little bit stalker, a whole lot of heat (especially in the second half) and a heck of a story - check this one out!

This book had me hooked from the start the tension and and action in the first chapter was a great start to what was a really enjoyable book.

Layla is strong, that kind of strength only someone who has been through what Layla has been through can obtain. Her love and relationship with her sister is her motivation and drive to keep going. We get to see the development of the H's obsession with Layla, after their first interaction, over the years. He's not a good man, but the relationship between him and Layla is intense and powerful.

This book is well written, each chapter makes you desperate to read on. Love these two authors books seperatly and now together -- 5 stars

This book right here is one of the reasons I absolutely love K.A. Knights books and precisely why I will be reading the Ivy Fox books I have ASAP. This was a dark, passionate, phenomenal MASTERPIECE in every possible way!! The characters she creates are on the morally gray scale but they always manage to steal your breath away with their intensity be it protectively or possessively.

This is Alaric and Layla’s story and when I say it’s a definite rollercoaster ride I mean it. Layla has had to endure a life of abuse and had to sacrifice everything to save the only family she has left. Alaric is an assassin and one of the best there is and was on a mission the day he stumbled across Layla standing up to her step father and her baby sister hiding in the bushes. It won’t be until years later that their paths collide again and their futures enter twine. But when they do it’s an instant attraction and the chemistry between the two is scorching!!!

This story truly is phenomenal but it’s not an easy one. The beginning absolutely gutted me and had me crying some serious ugly tears. Absolutely heartbreaking what Layla and Zoey endure, but absolutely breathtaking the lengths Alaric, a complete stranger goes to to keep them safe. I loved that they got their HEA at the end!! If you’ve read Katie’s or Ivy’s books then you already know this will be one heck of an emotional and steamy, but fan-freaking-tasting book and it is an absolute must read. I seriously can’t wait to read Zoey’s book!! Curious to find out more about her protector she mentions in the sneak peak. I have my suspicions but will be patiently waiting to find out!!! Highly recommend this book!!

I really enjoyed reading this so I stayed up all night until I’d finished it. The first time Alaric meets Layla& Zoey is when he saves their lives . Over the years he kept an eye in them convincing himself it was just to make sure they were safe. It became more of an obsession he needed to see Layla daily to keep himself sane and when a position arose where he could insert himself into her life he gave Layla and offer he hoped she wouldn’t refuse. I really am hoping book 2 will be Zoey and Greys story.

This book was really good. Alaric definitely isn’t your typical white knight hero, he’s a cold brutal killer.
Layla has had a hard life, when her little brother is beaten by her stepfather her mother takes Layla, her little brother, Gage, and little sister, Zoey and leaves. Unfortunately her stepfather finds them and kills her mom and brother, but when he goes to shoot Layla a stranger comes to her rescue and saves her and Zoey. He drops both girls off at the hospital and leaves, only he doesn’t disappear from their lives completely. He watches over them from afar for several years, he goes to Laylas work every day for coffee just to see her, and when Zoey’s life is in jeopardy again, Alaric is right there. Zoey needs an operation and Alaric wants them in his life, so he offers Layla a deal- marry him and her and Zoey will want for nothing.
This was a great story, the love between Alaric and Layla was fast, but beautiful. He might have been a killer, but he was soft and caring for Zoey and Layla, he loved them so much.
This was definitely a good read, one I read in a few hours!
