Day two of the Symposium featured three presentations. The first was by Rebecca Zorach, Mary Jane Crowe Professor in Art and Art History at Northwestern University with “A luminous golden spirit owns us”: Legal Sculpting and the Rights of Nature.”
The second was by Farid Esmaeil, Founding Partner and Principal Architect at X Architects with “Context as a ‘Form’ Generator.”
The third presentation was by T.J. Demos, Professor in the Department of the History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of California, Santa Cruz, with “War Ecology: Petropolitics and Contemporary Art in the Middle East.”
The moderator was Jochen Sokoly, Associate Professor of Islamic Art at VCUarts Qatar.
