RZE’s Valour 38 Is the Lightest Automatic Field Watch Available

Two years is not a long time to become world-renowned in any industry, let alone watchmaking. However, start-up-turned-global-favorite RZE has done just that thanks to its tough yet lightweight titanium cases and affordable price points. Now, the Singapore-based outfit has pushed the boundaries of its craft once again with a new field watch for your toughest adventures.

At just 57g, the Valour 38 is the lightest automatic field watch on the market, built with a 38mm aerospace-grade titanium case and a super comfortable nylon strap, also equipped with titanium hardware. Like all of the brand’s watches, the titanium is coated with RZE’s proprietary UltraHex coating that makes it eight times harder to scratch than stainless steel. Despite the wearer forgetting it’s even on their wrist to begin with, the timepiece sports a robust silhouette to go along with an array of dial color options, ranging from yellow to black to gray to white to green to blue. Water-resistant down to 100m, the watch runs on a Seiko-made SII NH38A automatic movement from Japan and sports military time markers around the inner dial for added field functionality.

You take one look at the Valour 38 and it’s obvious the watch is intended for visibility. The bold and prominent hands offer time updates at a quick glance when you need to be paying most of your attention to the trails. Likewise, the sapphire crystal is given an anti-reflective coating and the hands have been coated with Japanese Luminova so you can tell the time at any part of the day.

The RZE Valour 38 has already reached its goal on Kickstarter, but the campaign runs through August 10 for backers to grab one of these field watches for the early bird discount of just $309 (~$225).
