Exception Requests

For patients regularly exceeding these limits we can submit exception requests if medically

appropriate.

● Requests are required at every certification or when making changes to a certification.

● The OMMU may request patient medical records to approve/deny requests.

● The OMMU has 14 days to respond to an exception request.

If you are currently exceeding recommended amounts please discuss an exception request with

your patient educator & Dr. Gebhardt during your appointment.

Exception requests require the following information:

● A brief description outlining the anticipated patient benefit from an increased dosage

● Amount necessary for each route of administration

Patients must be regularly exceeding recommended limits to be eligible for an exception request

review.

70-Day Rolling Limits

The OMMU also enacted 70-day rolling limits for all non-smoking routes of administration.

The 70-day period is now calculated by looking back 70 days from the date of each

dispensation. Whatever amount you purchase on ‘x’ day will be added back to your allotment

after 70 days. You can track this history within the Medical Marijuana Use Registry.
