This may or may not have happened; there is a glut of books exposing wicked dissenters from the Leftist agenda these days, and many have been proven false. In any case, it strains credulity: Trump was supposed to be inexcusably “Islamophobic” himself, so why would this alleged “Islamophobic rant” bother him?
Meanwhile, Geoffrey Berman claims that Giuliani regaled the dismayed crowd with a “wholly inaccurate, alt-right history of the creation and development of Islam, stating that it was an inherently violent religion from its origins to today.” I’m willing to bet that Geoffrey Berman knows exactly zero about the creation and development, as well as the history of Islam. He knows, however, that to state that it has been violent for 1400 years, although it is readily demonstrable fact, is unacceptable among the Leftist elites today, and so he has to claim otherwise, and the facts be damned.
“Drunken Rudy Giuliani went on Islamophobic rant, new book claims,” Middle East Eye, September 9, 2022:
Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and confidant of former US President Donald Trump, lashed out with Islamophobic comments during a dinner party, according to a new book. The outburst likely contributed to his being overlooked for the position of secretary of state.
At a 2016 dinner, an inebriated Giuliani mistook a Jewish man wearing a yarmulke for a Muslim and called out: “I’m sorry to have tell you this, but the founder of your religion is a murderer,” according to a new book by Geoffrey Berman, a former US attorney for the southern district of New York.
Giuliani went on to share a “wholly inaccurate, alt-right history of the creation and development of Islam, stating that it was an inherently violent religion from its origins to today”, Berman writes.
The former New York mayor pulled his phone out to guests and “showed the group drawings of violent acts purportedly committed by Muslims”.
“It was unbelievable,” Berman said. “Rudy was unhinged. A pall fell over the room.”
The incident was first reported by The Guardian, which obtained a copy of Berman’s memoir, Holding the Line: Inside the Nation’s Preeminent US Attorney’s Office and its Battle with the Trump Justice Department….

Maybe it was that Giuliani would sometimes drink too much and Trump did not admire that in a person.

CogitoEgtoSum, Giuliani was Trump’s main lawyer–I doubt he’d pick an unreliable drunk. Really, I wouldn’t take any of these claims on faith.
CogitoErgoSum says
Yes. Also, I’ve known otherwise reliable people who sometimes have gotten drunk. Depends on how the person acts when drunk. There is also an old expression: “In vino, veritas.” It means that in alcohol there is truth, or a person tends to tell the truth when drunk. I would have to see how Giuliani acts when he is drinking to put any faith in what someone, who might be his enemy, is saying about him. I’ve never seen him drunk.

I doubt the veracity. The appearance of a Jew versus a Muslim would not have been so misunderstood by Giuliani, nor was he likely to have simply whipped his phone to show some photos.
He would have made some form of assertion in an opening remark. It sounds made up

Looking back, Rudy wouldn’t have been a bad Secretary of State. Or Trump could have offered him the AG slot, and Sessions the Secretary of Homeland Security, where he would have done a much better job

so many people hear that *everyone has at least one book in him,* and actually believe it. some do not realize if they write a book, it will be trash. Fools rush in where wise men fear to go and angels never tread.
some people will read this book and believe it. Others will read and know it’s trash. Some, such as I, won’t bother. It isn’t worth a dime and with this excerpt, I know what lies are within.
Was Mr. Trump **asked** why the attorney and former mayor was not selected? Did Mr. Guiliani want the position? Did they discuss it in private? Perhaps he wanted the man to stay in a position of attorney-client.

Anything anti-Trump–especially if it claims an “insider’s” POV–is going to sell in these mad times.

Yeah–I’d take all this with a large load of salt…

So now Giuliani was drunk at the time? Good grief…

Rudy Giuliani was mayor of New York City–a metropolis with a large Jewish population–for *eight years* and he supposedly had no idea what a yarmulke was? Let’s just say this seems pretty damned unlikely…

I’ve often felt like giving muslims a mouthful about their vile evil murderous false prophet, but somehow always managed to hold bag. Had I known what I know about islam now, when I was a young man. I’m pretty sure I would have done the same as Rudy, especially if I’d had a few beers.

Don’t know what’s going on here, I post a comment just the once but it’s delivered twice. It’s not the first time it’s happened.

I don’t know either, John. sometimes when I submit a comment, it will say it is a duplicate, and it is not, but the comment appears. so I have to guess that it’s a glitch of some kind, as i only hit submit one time. electronics seem to have a mind of their own.

Yes it use to let me know I’d already submitted this comment, it probably is something technical.
