After all these years, one of the principal masterminds of the 9/11 jihad attacks has still not faced trial, indicating the government’s ongoing indecision about how to treat such people: are they enemy combatants or civilian criminals? And so now KSM may avoid the death penalty. The fact that he has not been punished yet is symptomatic of the failure of the American system today.
“US prosecutors may negotiate plea deal with 9/11 architect Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, other conspirators: Report,” by Anders Hagstrom, Fox News, September 11, 2022:
U.S. military prosecutors are reportedly negotiating potential plea deals with 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other conspirators imprisoned in Guantanamo Bay.
The plea deals may allow the five dependents to escape a potential death penalty, according to CBS. Mohammed is widely credited with being the architect of the 9/11 terror attacks. The other four defendants are Ramzi Binalshibh, Mustafa Ahmed al-Hawsawi, Walid bin Attash and Ammar al-Baluchi.
Attorneys for the defendants reportedly say they would be willing to enter a guilty plea in exchange for taking the death penalty off the table, as well as for getting treatment for alleged torture they experienced while in CIA custody….
The trial for the five men has been bogged down in legal challenges for years. Prosecutors attempted to advance via pre-trial hearings in late 2021, but there remains no end in sight.
Each of the defendants has been assigned a military lawyer, a civilian lawyer and a human rights lawyer. The case has come before seven different judges, with the latest being Air Force Lt. Col. Matthew McCall.

Biden probably wants his legacy to include closing Gitmo. The deaths of thousands of Americans in a single day means nothing to him. Oh well.

Twenty one years on from the 9/11 terrorist attacks and still, as the article says, things are bogged down in legal challenges. It seems as though these evil creatures will avoid facing the deaths they deserve simply through the never ending legal challenges. Justice delayed far too long. These murderers of the huge number of victims of the 9/11 attacks should have been sent off to Hell years ago. If you are involved in the murder of thousands of people you should not be allowed to live on and on because of ridiculous, never ending legal challenges. It disrespects all the victims of these scumbags.
somehistory says
100% correct, Tim. They will reap someday soon.
tim gallagher says
I’m sure they will, somehistory. I had actually forgotten this evil scumbag in this photo. Seeing that photo of him from years ago was a bit of a shock. I suppose I had thought that he had probably been executed years ago. The legal system, and the lawyers, in all western countries (it would be the same in Australia where we have had cases drag on and on – mainly of illegals who have come into the country- through endless appeals) can really drag on and on through appeal after appeal and delay justice for too long.
somehistory says
yeah, he should have been food for the worms as soon as he was caught. bo brought up the court stuff so he’d never be tried as a war criminal and sentenced appropriately. bo is a mozlum and any who deny it, should just consider the evidence. It’s enough to choke a T Rex. that’s the main reason, imo, that this snake still breathes air.
tim gallagher says
Yes, somehistory, I was thinking that, after WWII, they executed the Nazis and the Japanese war criminals fairly quickly. People involved in the murder of over 3000 people, as in the 9/11 attacks, should not be able to avoid execution for so long. It is pathetic.

Joe Biden with his folly and mindless foolishness scraped the good sensible US government policy of not negotiating with terrorists. This is yet another on of the horrendous policies of Biden and his administration.
Furthermore, there is an al Qaeda video which threatens further jihad mass murder attacks even worse on than those deadly and destructive Islamic terrors Islamic terror attacks on 9/11
That al Qaeda jihadist who “mastermind” of the September 11, 2001, those jihad mass murder attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammad, had confidently declared “We will win because Americans don’t realize …we do not need to defeat you militarily; we only need to fight long enough for you to defeat yourself by quitting.” That arrogant boast of by KSM should serve as a reminder that we, as Americans, need to and should stand firm, with great fortitude, in this War of Idea’s and struggle against the jihadist who are always busy scheming to engage in mad Islamic quest by the means of the stealth jihad and the violent jihad violent. In other words, the jihadists means the conquest for supreme power and control of Islam over the West, either by hook or by crook.
Therefore, all good Americans should maintain a strong vigilant fortitude against Islamic strategies , savagely and tyranny. As Thomas Jefferson had, so well, explained “Fortitude…teaches us to meet and surmount difficulties; not to fly from them.”
Furthermore, there are still other jihadist chiefs around as on the loose, as KSM, who are engaged in Islamic scheming to have their jihadist /stooge’s future Islamic terrorist attack against Americans and America. Therefore, we, as Americans, should not live in fear or be afraid to go to difference place and do different things, yet even though we should feel no fear we should keep aware of our surrounding and be alert for anything that seems not to look quite right. As in “What’s wrong with this picture?” Then if something questionable is seen then it’s important to go and tell the right person about it. As example, In NY/NY a tee-shirt vendor saw some smoke come out of a parked van and so he went and informed as police officer about it. As it has been said “If you see something, say something.” To put this in another way, the wise words of Thomas Jefferson apply more now more than those words
Walter Sieruk says
I didn’t finish Mr Jefferson wrote “Let the eye of vigilance never be closed.”

Just repulsive–but given Biden’s, history, I am not surprised.

The new Joe Biden policy of negotiating with terrorists.
If there is right way to handle a situation and a wrong way to handle a situation , Biden will always chose the wrong way.
This means that Biden is either an incompetent idiot fool hideous treasonous treacherous villain.
Infidel says
That’s why the best thing to do when we find terrorists is take no prisoners: just kill them! We did it w/ Osama, al Zarqawi, al Baghdadi and most recently al Zawahiri. We should have done it w/ KSM as well, then we wouldn’t have risked this day when he might side-step the death penalty, which was somehow good enough for Tim McVeigh, but not him
Not to mention all the Taliban fighters released from Gitmo who’re now part of the Taliban regime. Had we killed them, the Taliban would have had to take completely new talent, setting themselves back quite a bit

I used to think that the Saudis may be genuine about their reforms of easing their shariah regime. Stories like this convince me that they are back to being a shariah state, although a tad less barbaric than they were under previous rulers

If he had claimed it for a dead molzum, he would have been okay with the government.
Perhaps he thought the queen was one.
