About this game

Available exclusively for Netflix members.

A fun night partying takes a supernatural turn for the teens of Camena High. Unlock the horror, adventure and mysteries of a ghostly rift in this narrative thriller — all the choices are up to you.

The story: Alex is a bright, rebellious teenager who brings her new stepbrother, Jonas, to an overnight party on a strange, old military island. But the senior-year tradition takes a scary turn when she stumbles upon the island’s cryptic past in this World War II-inspired supernatural narrative. GamesBeat calls this award-winning thriller "a big next step for adventure games."

Play this adventure story as Alex and change the narrative with your choices in this thriller:

• Explore a haunted island: The scary secrets simmering just beneath the hauntingly beautiful veneer of Edwards Island will forever change your perception of reality. Are you ready for an adventure?

• Contact the supernatural: Rumor has it that if you stand in just the right spot, you can use a radio to tune into a scary station that doesn't exist on Edwards Island. Turn the radio dial, activating ways to save your friends and communicate with ghosts.

• Forge or destroy bonds — your choices matter: Will you encourage your best friend to ask out his crush? Can you close the distance between yourself and your new stepbrother? Be mindful — your choices will impact your relationships and inform how you tackle supernatural threats.

Create your story again and again, with multiple endings driven by your narrative choices.

I loved the game until i got past the cave. The main character and her step brother ended up at the towery woods. Then, it stopped showing or saying anything the step brother said. It just showed options for me to reply even with not knowing what he was saying. No sounds or captions were shown when i talked either, it only showed options to choose from. I assumed maybe it was glitching and wasn't loaded right so i got out and got back in and it wasn't fixed. I restarted my progress, same thing.

Sadly, I changed my 5☆ rating to 3☆. When I first started playing Oxenfree it was awesome! Graphics are great. Story is immersive. I was really getting into gameplay, and then the audio stopped working. I couldn't hear what characters were saying. I tried reinstalling the game, but that didn't work. I really want to play this game, I hope the audio gets fixed.

Love the art style. Great storyline that's based on your responses to conversations/ actions. Controls are simple (tap or tap and drag to move), but the tap and drag option could be smoother/faster/higher touch sensitivity. Map is cute (with current obj. as notes), but would benefit from more zoom options for those with difficulty reading small letter. Definitely a semi-quick game worth playing (finished in about 5.5 hours).
