Brecht Evens (1986) je trenutno eden najbolj razvpitih predstavnikov avtorskega stripa v Evropi, ki z vsakim novim delom znova preseneti bralce in žanje kritiško hvalo. Njegove stripovske strani prekipevajo od barv in se požvižgajo na okvirčke in oblačke, zgodbe pa jedko režejo v sodoben vsakdan. Mednarodni preboj mu je prinesel stripovski album The Wrong Place (2009), zanj je prejel tudi nagrado za avtorsko drznost na slovitem stripovskem festivalu v francoskem Angoulêmu. Prav tam je leta 2019 prejel tudi posebno nagrado žirije za svoj najnovejši strip The City of Belgium. Pri Stripolisu bo izšel slovenski prevod stripa Vaški umetnik (The Making Of), svojevrstne parodije umetniškega sveta, v kateri Evens z bujnimi akvareli in značilno duhovitostjo slika nerodne, amaterske spodrsljaje udeležencev majhnega umetniškega bienala na flamskem podeželju.

Galerija Equrna bo gostila svetovno premiero razstave Evensovih izbranih litografij, odprtje razstave pa bo pospremil pogovor z avtorjem. Na sobotnem sejmu v Kinu Šiška bo Evens svoje knjige tudi podpisoval, na masterclassu pa bodo obiskovalci lahko prisluhnili uvidu v njegov delovni proces.

Galerija Equrna že tretje leto zapored gosti razstave Tintinih gostov – tokrat se bo predstavil razvpiti belgijski stripar Brecht Evens, ki sicer živi in ustvarja v Parizu. Prvič bo na ogled avtorjeva najnovejša umetniška produkcija – serija 32 grafik v tehniki litografije. Razstava odpira vpogled v manj znano poglavje umetnikovega ustvarjalnega opusa in njegovo raziskovanje izraznih možnosti klasičnih grafičnih tehnik, predstavljeni litografski odtisi pa nosijo izrazit in razpoznaven avtorski pečat.

Odprtje razstave bo pospremil pogovor z avtorjem, ki ga bo vodil stripar Izar Lunaček, premierno pa bo predstavljen tudi slovenski prevod Evensovega stripa Vaški umetnik.

Predprostor galerije bodo s svojevrstnim hommagem avtorju in njegovemu stripovskemu opusu zasedli domači striparji – Matej de Cecco, Ivan Mitrevski, Karolina Umetnina, Lea Vučko, Janez Grm, David Krančan in Izar Lunaček, nazdravili pa bomo s festivalskim pivom Pečeni panter, ki ga je prav tako navdihnil Evensov strip.

Belgijski stripar Brecht Evens, avtor več odmevnih stripovskih albumov, kot so The Wrong Place (2009), The Making Of (2011), Panther (2014) in The City of Belgium (2018), nam bo ponudil vpogled v svoj proces dela in pokazal, kako nastanejo njegovi stripi, od scenarija in skice prek risbe in barve do knjige. Predstavitev bo potekala v angleščini.
