New in PJ Media:
Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb, who as grand imam of Cairo’s Al-Azhar is the foremost cleric in Sunni Islam, met up again with his pal Pope Francis in Bahrain on Friday and gave us one of the best episodes yet of their ongoing buddy-movie series. Whenever these two get together, they always serve up fresh steaming piles of cynical deception, Islamic proselytizing, and Leftist agitprop, and Friday’s episode was no different. In fact, it was one of the most outstanding examples yet of how Islamic leaders use interreligious dialogue to further their own ends, playing their naïve Christian counterparts for fools again and again.
At the Bahrain Forum for Dialogue, according to Church Militant, al-Tayyeb asserted that “what is said and promoted from time to time about the institution of war in Islam against the infidels is not true. Indeed, it is a real lie about Islam and the life of its prophet, even if this is affirmed by some followers of the same religion, a religion that is based on evidence and testimony, not on ambiguity and lies.” The “lie” that al-Tayyeb had in mind was the readily demonstrable proposition that Islam is the only major world religion that has a developed doctrine involving warfare against the subjugation of unbelievers. Despite statements to that effect from numerous Muslim clerics and the undeniable evidence of over 42,000 violent jihad attacks worldwide since 9/11, al-Tayyeb insisted that it was all a misunderstanding.
We have, of course, heard this song before, and al-Tayyeb was aware of that, telling the pope: “I hope you are not bored with the constant claims that Islam is a religion of peace and equality.” Pope Francis, of course, was just the opposite of bored. He can’t get enough of that sort of thing, as back in 2013 he himself declared, with imperviousness to facts and evidence that was truly breathtaking, that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.”
Why is this so hard for Westerners to grasp? Well, it’s largely because it isn’t remotely true, but as far as al-Tayyeb was concerned, it was because Muslim scholars have been less than “diligent in letting Westerners know about true Islam.” He said that they should “continue to highlight what Islam encompasses in terms of lofty ideals, human brotherhood and cooperation, and other commonalities that the West and East agree on and welcome.” Yeah, good idea. Maybe he can explain where exactly the Qur’an calls for “human brotherhood and cooperation” with non-Muslims, whom the Islamic holy book calls “the most vile of created beings” (98:6).

Francis is either monstrously ignorant or monstrously complicit. Even assuming the former, it still stands as a massive condemnation of what the Roman Catholic Church has become. Thank Vatican II (1962-1965) for this and understand that Francis is the inevitable result, some half century later, respecting what Vatican II most stupidly spawned.
Yes, the old Roman Catholic Church is never coming back. Never. Vatican II killed it.
One of the most previous stalwarts of Western Civilization, which the Catholic Church has been through the centuries (though certainly not perfect to be sure or anything close to it but nonetheless a major guardian of the best of the West), is gone—forever. Pope John XXIII (1958-1963) foolishly tried to fix something that wasn’t broken The monumental fool or worse who is Francis I is a sterling example of this foolhardiness by Pope John XXIII. And I would caution Protestants and Orthodox to take no delight in the demise of the Catholic Church. If one does as a Protestant or Orthodox believer it is foolishness in the extreme.
Well, the ancient Egyptian religion lasted for some 3,000 years. Roman Catholicism, before its self-imposed and entirely unnecessary destruction, lasted some two thousand years. Conclude accordingly where ultimate truth resides, if indeed it resides anywhere at anytime in any place in all of man’s history.

“Francis is either monstrously ignorant or monstrously complicit”
Yes, that is the question.
I just assumed that a Catholic priest – who climbs up the hierarchy and becomes Pope – would have to have at least a good working knowledge of other world religions. Most importantly, to be able to compare and contrast with Christianity.
Pope Francis either:
1. Does not have that knowledge base – for whatever reason.
2. Actually has the knowledge base – but uses it to promote islam – while marginalizing Christianity.
Bottom line: Pope Francis is either ignorant – or evil.

No doubt you are right, Wellington. “The old Roman Catholic Church is never coming back. Never.” At the current rate, only ignorant parishioners will be left. I personally know someone who, years ago, traveled to another nation to meet the former Pope. Today, he is disgusted and won’t attend anymore.
Pope Francis said, God, “never brings about war, never incites hatred, never supports violence.” Apparently he is suffering from Biden Affliction. Perhaps he has forgotten what he read in the Old Testament. He certainly shows no sign of ever reading the Quran – a textbook of violent instruction.
Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb must have formidable self-control to resist bursting out with laughter. Isn’t he the very guy who verified the punishment for leaving Islam is death?
Watching these two slobber over each other is like watching a child groomer at work.

Dano50 says
Everybody has forgotten the true meaning of “Turn the other cheek.”
Long explanation short and simplified, it means, if someone strikes, or gives offence, you, in order to make sure YOU didn’t misunderstand things, you give the offender a chance to MAKE THEIR INTENT CLEAR.
If they give offense again, or so much as JUST TRIES, to strike you again, intent has been made clear, and you have every single right to defend yourself.
It’s more complex than that because there are things like passive resistance for a greater cause, as in Martin Luther King jr. example, but I hope I’ve made things a bit clearer.

This article reveals that this “grand imam” might really be able to have Pope Francis play the part of his “useful Idiot.”
It might also be worth mentioning that only a few years ago on Conservative talk radio some guest scholars had been speculating on a theory that higher up Roman Catholic clerics at the Vatican had started to take into consideration that Pope Benedict XVI was too strong when it came to the subject of Islam. So those Vatican knowing how very violent with bombs and other deadly devises might become offend by some of the statements thta Pope Benedict had had said , So they began to worry that some jihadists might start bombing churches, cathedrals monasteries and shrines of the Roman Catholic Church.
Therefore, they pressured Benedict to resign and then they replaced him with a pope who is very favorable towards Islam. That man is Pope Francis.

The Roman Catholic Church over the years decades and centuries has had its share of what I will generously call controversies. I wont get in to that list here. One example is the Church rejected (prohibited) the Copernicus theory that Earth was not the center of the universe as Rome at the time believed. The Pope doesn’t represent all of Christianity. Many non-Catholics wonder, who needs a middle man in their personal relationship with God? The Roman Catholic Church sometimes has had to be dragged kicking and screaming in to contemporary reality.

I’m a non-Catholic who understands what Jesus said about “I am the Way, and no one comes to the Father except through me,” and what His apostle Paul, wrote about Jesus being the “Mediator between God and man,” (his first letter to Timothy).
No pope has ever, or will ever, represent me…before God or to the people who think he represents us.

Islam would’ve conquered Western Europe centuries ago if it had not been for Roman Catholic popes who gathered armies to stop them. (Hungary 1456, Vienna 1783 for example)
Unfortunately the pope did not gather armies to help Byzantium from Islamic conquests after the Great Schism in 1054. The Reformation made thinks worse as far as resisting Islamic expansion. Unfortunately, I don’t think this Argentinian pope took a meaningful History of Western Civilization class. We need a pope like Callixtus III when dealing with Islam.

Good thing that no one here, knows that, whoever is Pope at the time of the 7 year Tribulation, will be the third part of Satan’s Trinity.
Just like there’s God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit…trinity, then evil has it’s Trinity, as Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet. It’s pretty much known by most dedicated Christians, that Satan has to copy as much as possible of what God does and says, reason being of course, is for Christians, to unknowingly follow Satan instead of God. Satan is out to collect as many souls as he can, before his “short time” is up.
So, back to the Pope, if anyone would notice, that for the last few popes, they were becoming more and more evil. I have kept a archive/collection of what THIS pope has done and said, that was so against God/Jesus, that it’s enough to make you cringe…well for the Christians that have paying attention to this subject, would be! He’s calmed down a LOT, and hasn’t done anything at all, compared to all the stuff he said, for about a year or more, when he first took office. It’s been a curious thing, for sure….
I can’t even IMAGINE, another pope coming in, and taking over this office…he’ll be even worse than the pope that’s in there now…
Luckily, I believe we have a very short time left, before the beginning of the 7 year Tribulation starts. A few years at the most…
Ok, ready for the deniers, and haters, and such…

The friend of an old friend sent me an article about an Iman who was invited and welcomed into saying a prayer inside a Coptic Church in Cairo and mentioned that he thought this was truly wonderful as it seems they are solving their ancient problems in a decent manner.
I asked this person to let me know when a Coptic Priest is invited and welcomed to make a prayer in a mosque.
No reply…

Since, by their very nature, all religions contradict each other, how can “interfaith dialogue” be anything other than “you leave me and mine alone and allow us to worship as we please and we’ll do the same to you and yours”? When the basis of a religion is to attack other religions — whether violently or by word — in order to get converts it is not “leaving them and theirs alone”.

What Koran is the grand imam quoting from when he speaks lovey dovey about Islam to the pope? I’ll bet he’s thinking as he speaks to the pope, “war is deceit.” THAT is in the Koran.

I wonder whether the Pope mentioned all those Christians in Africa who are being slaughtered, day after day, by Muslims. This Pope is pathetic. He seems to stand for nothing. Whatever the latest left wing woke agenda is this Pope will support. To my mind, Christianity and evil, violent islam are opposites and the Pope should call out islam as the evil religion that it is. He should tell the truth in the way some of those Popes from the past did.
