“Book banning is much more than just the removal of books from school libraries.”
Actually, that’s all it is: an effort to remove explicitly pornographic material such as Gender Queer from public libararies and public schools. But Ali Velshi and Reza Aslan are in the business of stoking Leftist hysteria, and they love posturing as the courageous enlightened against the benighted, willfully stupid bigots.
If Velshi is serious about his “Banned Book Club,” however, let him feature an author whose books are not subject to an official ban, but to the de facto ban of Leftist conformism. Let him discuss a book that cuts against the Left’s authoritarian agenda. Don’t hold your breath.
“Velshi Banned Book Club: The Concerted Effort to Ban Books,” NBCUniversal, November 5, 2022:
Book banning is much more than just the removal of books from school libraries. It has become a rallying cry for the Christian Right, and a wedge issue for these upcoming midterm elections. So how do you speak to religious fundamentalists about an issue like book banning? Reza Aslan, author of “Beyond Fundamentalism” has an answer, “The way that you defeat religiously-inspired hate is with religiously-inspired love….

True. I would go so far as to say… not only sick, but demonic.

The USA has a long history of banning books I remeber a few decades ago when some school boards were bannoing books they thought were ‘downers’, I think that is American English for depressing, Now the left has gone the complete other direction by believing it is good to have pornography in schools, even drag queens!
Never mind that fact that parents can install blockers on their childrens’ PCs to prevent them viewing porn

Perverts call sex, “love.” It is not the same, but children are being told that it is the same and that the perversion of normal activities in this realm are wonderful and beautiful and something they need to know…all the way to the youngest they can assemble in libraries, schools, bars, shows, etc.
Parents trying to protect their children, politicians trying to assist parents in protecting the kids, are the targets of these perverted liars.
satan twisted Scripture in order to get Jesus to disobey God. perverts are twisting the Truth in order to corrupt little children.

Yeah, but try reading out one of those ‘banned’ books on an MSNBC show live, and watch how long you last. In fact, on Newsmax, Eric Bolling once invited a parent who was censored from reading a book available in the school library to read it on his show. The parent read a few lines, and then came to, “…and he took off all his clothes.” At which point, Eric stopped him and said, “Okayyy, that’s enough” before continuing to interview the parent

was that the same parent, a young woman, who was reading it before the school board and they stopped her from continuing because it was so very crude and awful stuff?
she made the point that they…adults…couldn’t stand to hear it read aloud, but her child would be able to see and read it in the library of the school.
࿗Infidel࿘ says
No, this was a dad who tried to do it. This story has been repeated in quite a few places in the country w/ similar results. Hopefully today, in addition to Congress and state houses, school boards also get a major shake-up

MSNBC claims that efforts to remove pornography from public schools are ‘book banning’
………………………………………
Pornography is *not* appropriate for children.
This is not banning books–they are still available, just not provided by the schools.

Isn’t Reza Aslan, author of “Beyond Fundamentalism”, the muzlim that eats human brains on CNN?

My husband was reading a book aloud to our city council when the mayor told him to stop. My husband said, “You’ve made my point better than I could have, mayor.” If it is too obscene for a roomful of adults, if you could not read it in a city office without being accused of sexual harassment, then it shouldn’t be in the public library for teens or preteens. We are still fighting this fight in Irving, Texas. No community standards. All American Library Standards!

They made his point better, but still won’t remove those books from school libraries. Hope a lot of statehouses and city councils change hands, and crack down hard on these school districts

Religiously-inspired love to Aslan, a Muslim revert and cannibal, probably includes child brides and bachi boys.
If you see any one of these three, hide your children.
