Hawthorne Prep #3

Prince of Hawthorne Prep

Rate this book
Betrayal. Blackmail. Revenge.
How is it that those three words now rule my life?

From USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Sucevic comes a dark, sexy high school bully romance.
Welcome to the world of Hawthorne Prep. A seemingly idyllic school where ivy clings to the thick stone walls and a wrought iron gate keeps out the townies who can’t afford to foot the hefty price tag.
Except…I’m one of those townies.
I don’t belong here.
Most of the time, I feel like an outsider with her face smashed against a windowpane while staring inside. It’s a lonely feeling. One I’ve gotten used to. There are times when I secretly wonder if I’ll make it through senior year intact.
But then someone comes along and turns my world upside down and inside out. He makes me feel things I never dreamed possible. There’s a possessiveness to the way he watches me, and it sets my nerves on edge.
Especially when it’s in front of my boyfriend.
The one I desperately want to break up with.
The very same one who will make my life hell if I try to pull the plug.
Steering clear of Austin Hawthorne is my only option. A little attempt at self-preservation. For both our sakes.
One night changes everything between us and has me believing in the possibility of something more.
Just as swiftly as I’m given hope, it all comes crashing down around my head, making me a pawn in a game between two boys who will stop at nothing to take each other down.

Prince of Hawthorne Prep is book one in a duet and not a standalone novel. The completed duet is a standalone story within the Hawthorne Prep series and will conclude with Princess of Hawthorne Prep. You do not need to have read the previous books in this series to enjoy this duet.

I picked up Prince of Hawthorne Prep with the intention of reading just a couple of chapters before bed, but instead, I didn't stop until the sun came up. This is my first read from Jennifer Sucevic, and I'm definitely going to be reading more from her in the future. New adult romance is my shit, so I'm always looking for new ones to enjoy. Shout out to my girl, Michelle, that brought this one to my attention!

Before I go any further, I want to mention that I had no idea there were other books in the series before this one, so heads up to anyone else that isn't aware of that either. I still enjoyed the story without the previous installments, but I did feel like I was missing a few things. Aside from getting to know more about Summer and Kingsley, the couple from books 1 and 2, I felt like I missed out on information about Austin's family, their history with the town, and how and why they came back to it.

Moving on to the story!

Austin and Delilah have an instant connection that Delilah tries to ignore, because she's in a relationship with Jasper, the starting quarterback of Hawthorne Prep. She doesn't actually want to be with Jasper, but she's scared of how he will react to her breaking up with him. He's a hot headed, arrogant, aggressive, manipulative asshole that doesn't like the word no. When she finally works up the courage to leave, Jasper manipulates her once again making Austin think Delilah is out to destroy him, changing her from the object of his affection to the target of his revenge.

If frustration was a book, it would be this one! I wanted to slap these characters upside the head so many times it was unreal and shake them to make them act right or to see what was right in front of them. It took everything in me not to scream to the top of my lungs and wake up my husband as I watched them making one stupid choice after the other, some of which could cause irreparable damage, especially at the end of the book! I'm surprised that my Kindle is still intact!

Delilah is a heroine that is on the weaker side which tested my patience, but I tried to remember that she's a young girl at a disadvantage. Not only does she have the kids at school and the principal to worry about, but her own mother doesn't even listen to her or take her side against absolutely anyone. I'm so done with her mom. I can't imagine believing my daughter's ex-boyfriend over her, especially if they told me said boyfriend was mean to them. What is wrong with this woman?! She needs a foot up the ass to go along with the smack upside the head. I can't with her.

Don't even get me started on Jasper! Somebody needs to beat the shit out of him in the next book, or I won't be able to cope. All of Delilah's so called friends made me sick, but Audrey deserves a special place in hell. Principal Pembroke can also get fucked. That man makes me sick to my core.

Saying all of that might make you think I didn't enjoy this story, but that's not true at all. I fucking love drama in books! If an author can make me invested enough to get upset for the characters and want to do bodily harm to the people that hurt them, they've done their job! They made me feel, and they made me care. That's a credit to the author's writing. Period. On top of that, Austin spent a lot of time naked in this book which of course, I was totally here for! He enjoys torturing Delilah with his body which just makes the sexual tension between them more intense, and it made the payoff more than worth it.

I talked a lot about the characters I can't stand in the beginning of this review. Now, let's discuss the ones I loved! I absolutely adore Summer, Duke, and Austin. Summer is Austin's ride or die. The way she always has her brother's back endeared her to me immediately, and out of everyone in the book, she's the only one that heard Delilah out completely and took her at her word. That also got her major points with me.

Duke stole my heart by being such an amazing friend to Delilah. He was ready to defend her at any given moment no matter who he had to go up against. It didn't matter if she asked for his help or not, he always spoke up when he saw something that wasn't right, and he didn't back off unless he was assured she was okay. I'm assuming we'll be getting his and Everly's story once this one is complete, and you better believe I'm going to be reading it!

Austin started out sweet but direct. He didn't shy away from letting Delilah know how he felt about her. After he thinks she betrayed him, he goes into bully territory for a hot minute, but I loved that it didn't last long. He's a good guy at heart, and there was never a second where I didn't believe that. I fully understood his hesitation to believe Delilah, so I didn't blame him for anything he did as a result. The only time I wanted to kick his ass was at the end, but I'll reserve that ass kicking until I see how bad it needs to be based on how everything plays out in the next book.

Overall, Prince of Hawthorne Prep was an a fun, drama filled new adult romance that I couldn't put down. I can't wait to see what's next for Delilah and Austin. In the meantime, I'm putting Summer and Kingston's books on my tbr!

New adult romance fans, this one's for you!

Gah! I couldn't put this book down!

"What is it about the inky-haired, green-eyed boy that sets my nerves on edge and makes my heart skip a painful beat every time I catch sight of him."

Delilah Robinson is stuck in a relationship with Jasper Morgan. He's not the guy she thought he was. She's desperate to break up with him but is fearful of the consequences. One night, things come to a head and she's rescued by Austin Hawthorne, the guy she's drawn to since the first day they met. Just when she thinks they'll have a chance, her life comes crashing down around her.

"You know what I think? That you want to be owned. But only by me. Are you really going to tell me that you don't enjoy my hands on you?"

Oh. My. Gosh! Delilah becomes completely stuck between a rock, a hard place, and an absolute chasm of crappiness. I thought she was stoic and strong, and yet, other times, she really needed to use more force and push herself to be heard. She had guts but then there were moments when she let herself be fooled and pushed around like a ragdoll. There were times when she was so goddamn gullible that it was horribly frustrating! I'm like, where is your backbone, girl?! Where's your common sense? Trust your gut instincts! Between Jasper (nasty piece of work), Austin (burnt and totally mistrustful of Delilah), her own mother (ugh, don't even start), and the stinking cesspool of kids at her school, it's a wonder she didn't run screaming off a cliff just to to escape them all. Aaannnddd.....just when you think she's hit the bell on the happiness-o-meter, something horrible befalls her. That ending! I could cry!

This story was addictive, anxiety-inducing, hot AF, and frustrating! LOL. I can't wait for the concluding part. Seriously.

This book is my first read in this series and it had me intrigued from start to finish while ready to throw things at a few characters. Delilah is an outsider when it comes to Hawthorne Prep being a scholarship student that comes from nothing, she has never felt like she truly fit with these people, so when she starts to date the popular Jason, she goes from no one to someone. This all comes with a price, expectations, and the vileness that is Jason’s character. He is disgusting and pure evil, so when she breaks things off, I was happy, yet if she had the guts to stand up for herself and put him in his place while not caring about his feelings or his mother’s party she wouldn’t be in this predicament or if she stood up to her mother things wouldn’t be spiraling. Austin comes from money, but he doesn’t fit in with the prep kids either and he is ok with that because he knows how vile and shallow, they are, but jealousy has him on a list that makes people hate him especially Jason. Austin doesn’t start out hating Delilah but wanting her just waiting for her to realize she deserves better yet Jason messes this up for them and plays them both against each other. While Austin can be cruel at times to Delilah after the incident with Jason, he deserved to unleash some of his anger because how humiliated he was. Although Austin continued to taunt Delilah his underlying feelings for her where always near the surface, but he has trust issues with people especially those he thinks had a hand in his humiliation, so he lives to torment her and exact revenge. With the cruelty comes attraction and feelings become more but the cliffhanger we are left with has me hoping and praying the next book isn’t going in the direction I think it is with Austin being framed because these two deserve so much better and Jason deserves to rot. Also, Delilah’s mother is the worst how could she act this way toward her only daughter and not once listen or take her side? She really disgusted me with her selfish attitude towards the end. Overall, this book was good and had my emotions all over the place and I loved it. I loved Austin, hope better for Delilah, and want to see Jason suffer, so I’ll be not so patiently waiting the next book.

I love Jennifer Sucevic her books. I always devour her sport romance books. 🥰🥰

The hawthorne prep series is an enemies to lovers / bully trope/series. The setting is high school.

I already read the first two books last year. Unfortunately i did not have the time to re-read them but for me it was not necessary. I remembered enough. If you haven’t read the first two i would advise you to read them first.

Austin and his twin sister moved to Hawthorne where their ancestors are from. They have the same last name as the town and the school. But in this case that is not something good.

In high school everything is about perception and popularity. Especially on Hawthorne prep where most of the students come from rich people.

Austin is spending his first year at Hawthorne prep and he is a senior. Austin Hawthorne is an outcast because of his ancestors. If he had different ancestors he would definitely be one of the popular guys. He is a hot and a jock. Quarterback to be precise. His twin sister is in a relationship with the King(sley) of the school and town.

Delilah is the girlfriend of the first string quarterback who I intimidated by Austin. If she would not have been in a relationship with him.. she would be an outcast. She is going to Hawthorne on a scholarship? And because of her mom who works at the school. Delilah had a natural connection and attraction since day one with Austin. She gave him and his sister an introduction to the school. She attraction is so strong but she doesn’t act on it since she is in a relationship. Delilah is smart, sweet and innocent. She ends up spending more and more time with Austin.
Their story has high ups and very down lows.

I loved how honest and possessive Austin is. He is pure dominance and raging.

This book has some serious ‘Good girl and Bad boy’ vibes.

The story claimed me.. i finished this book so fast. I could not put it down.. the tension, the thrill and the raging love in this book is amazing.

The relationships are a bit of an rollercoaster. The chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥. This book is unforgettable. The cliffhanger in the end is already killing me.

I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Thank you so much Jennifer for this amazing book. I can’t wait for the next.

PRINCE OF HAWTHORNE PREP By Jennifer Sucevic

Delilah is a scholarship student at Hawthorne Prep. Austin Hawthorne despite having the said last name is not welcome there. Few unfortunate events make Austin hate Delilah.

😊What i liked -

✔ Enemies to Lovers/Bully Trope/High School Romance/Dark Romance
✔ Okay so this book got me feeling a lot of feelings at the same time. I went from feeling sorry to swooning to getting angry to swooning to feeling sorry again.
✔ I Liked Austin's character. Quite honest, silent tormentor types.( though for a while he was a bully too)
✔ I liked the way this book is written, it had me invested from the line itself.
✔ Even though there were times I hated Austin for being a bully, I loved how on point the chemistry between the two was.

🤔What could have been better -

✔ I have hated many characters in the past books I have read, but Jasper, Sloane and Aubrey are the cherry on top of a very ugly cake. I really wish I do not meet real life versions of these three.
✔ Okay so that ending - the cliffhanger, i wanted just another page.(i know after that page i would have asked for more)

📚Who Should read :

👶Beginners
💝Romance Lovers
💞Enemies to Lovers
💕Bully Trope

📈My Rating : 4.5/5

P.s - Ya i know it's a high school romance not many of you will be able to digest that fact, but hey the book is really well written. I guarantee you will be hooked too. I really want to know what happens next, especially after the way the book ended.

Thank you Jennifer Sucevic and WordSmith Publicity for a copy.

“This boy will ruin me for all others.”

Jennifer Sucevic is my newest slayer of young adult romance. This new-to-me author whose books I’ve been hoarding and finally met has become an insta favorite. I can’t stop reveling in this bully romance that rocked my world! Prince of Hawthorne Prep caught me, claimed me, and catapulted me into an addicting world of tantalizing tension, thrilling twists, and fierce fire. This book made me burn!

Perception and popularity rule in this prep school world with the richest powering the school. In this deliciously dark saga with a bullying theme, a hero and heroine are plagued by demons and thirst for revenge in the most addicting of cat and mouse games. Delilah seamlessly balances the world on her shoulders with strength and smarts. Austin is a dark knight battling demons, but oh is he one delicious hero that was my undoing … the bad boy I couldn’t help but want to unwrap and savor like the most meaningful gift. The hero and heroine are undeniable with a connection so fire-hot and fierce that it just radiates throughout the story.

Prince of Hawthorne Prep is the guiltiest of pleasures. Oh my did this Cruel Intentions-like tale completely captivate and consume every part of me. With magical writing full of deviance, dominance and raging emotion, strong and compelling soulmates with explosive chemistry, and a twisted, heart-pounding plot, I was a goner for this bully romance … a book that burns in the best way. Unflinching. Unputdownable. Unforgettable.

💋💋💋💋💋 deliciously dominant kisses

I absolutely devoured all 3 books in this Hawthorne Prep Series in 2 days, and Austin Hawthorne is something else for sure!!

When Delilah & Austin meet initially in King of Hawthorne Prep, I sensed the attraction there right away. But Delilah was already with Jasper so it had to be left at that. 2 months later, the situation changes and Delilah and Austin are finally given their chance, or so you think. Jasper being the absolute VIAL human being that he is makes both Austin & Delilah’s lives living hells. He is dead set on getting Austin Hawthorne expelled and Delilah hated by all by spreading horrid rumors.

When things go south, Austin looses all trust in Delilah and decides to join in and make her life harder than it already is, but his sweet, caring side shines through the cracks slightly, and you can see that no matter how much he fights it he cares for her even just a little bit.

This book being a duet, you are left in a pretty hefty cliffhanger.. Sweet Delilah seriously can’t catch a break, and after that ending my heart seriously breaks for her. I can’t wait for the Princess of Hawthorne Prep and to see where Austin & Delilah’s story goes from here.

(Be advised there are a few triggers in this book, please check TW’s if you struggle with sexual abuse or abuse please know these topics are hit on in this book)

After how Jennifer Sucevic left me hanging at the end of Prince of Hawthorne Prep.
It had me reeling with want and need to get my hands on Princess of Hawthorne Prep ASAP, to see the conclusion to Delilah and Austin’s journey.

Princess of Hawthorne Prep took you on a whirlwind rollercoaster, yet it was a given considering how everything left off at the end of Prince of Hawthorne Prep.
It was to be expected that Jennifer would have you riding through highs and low that consisted of so much drama, especially when you took into account the situations that occurred throughout.
It was like one after another after another, of which always involved and affected Delilah, never being able to catch a break from the aftermath of it.
A lot of which came from the issues between her and Austin, it led their relationship being full of back and forth and push and pulling. Most of which Austin had a hand in, considering his attitude and behaviour towards Delilah due to the mistaken information he had that made him doubt her. Ultimately causing them to ride the waves of highs and lows between them too.
But the fact that Delilah always picked herself up with trying to push through it, even with all the times she was knocked down from the many hurdles and obstacles thrown her way, it had me rooting for her hard.

Given the paces Delilah and Austin were put through, though mostly Delilah in this case. It made for a narrative that had so much angst dripping off each and every page, resulting in a emotionally charged storyline.
Especially when it came to following along in their relationship, on top of everything else Delilah was dealing with, whether it be her relationship with her mom, Jasper's antics, as well as those at school.
It was to be expected seeing her go through array of emotions from sadness, heartbreak, pain and misery to some moments of happiness, joy and laughter.
Something was showcased very well all throughout, courtesy of the in-depth look from Delilah’s inner monologue.
As well as Austin too, given the chapters that were included with being told from his perspective. Not only adding that extra oomph that Prince of Hawthorne Prep missed out in.
It allowed us to get a real understanding of his character from seeing, feeling and hearing all that he was going through emotion wise. As well as thought wise from all that he was dealing with in his life.

Yet again Jennifer had me devouring this book like other, having read it in one sitting with not being able to stop until it was finished.
She did an incredible job with the finale to Delilah and Austin’s story in Princess of Hawthorne Prep, making this book and Prince of Hawthorne Prep my favourite books of hers out of all that she has written.
Jennifer Sucevic came through with truly out doing herself with the duet series that was Delilah and Austin’s stories.

Super duper spicy, dark, bully, high-school sports (football), enemies-to lovers new adult romance. This is the third book in the series, if you haven't read King of Hawthorne Prep and Queen of Hawthorne Prep you really should, also amazing (it's a duet). But you could totally start with this one and work your way back.

This is the first of the second duet in the series so it does leave you on a cliffhanger. I already have the next book (Princess of Hawthorne Prep preordered (release Feb 10, 2023). Make sure and check your trigger warnings cause if you don't like dark and bully romance, this one isn't for you. If you loved Royals of Forsyth U series, you'd love this too.

Trigger Warnings: dub con, bullying, cheating (not main characters).

After the intense ending in the previous book I was left stunned and dying for this book. As I dove head first in this one I knew it would take us on a serious emotional journey and man the highs and lows punched a hole in my heart then put the pieces back together. Delilah has been through so much and the predicament that she finds herself in is utterly heartbreaking. I was angry on her behalf the majority of the book then at times I was angry at her for not standing up for herself. I love Austin and understood why he had so many doubts about who to trust, so when things went down I got his anger but the way he acted made me angry at him. Jasper is still the worst of the worst and wanted him to get so much more than what he did. Austin and Delilah’s story isn’t an easy one trust is paper thin, feelings are strong, will the truth ever be revealed to set Delilah free? This emotional rollercoaster was intense, frustrating, smexy, and everything in between. The author drew out all this in me while reading and I devoured it all.

Oh Jennifer Sucevic, you sneaky, sneaky wickedly cruel temptress, you. How is it that you can make us – dare I say – “love” a bully – let alone a bully romance? Isn’t that an oxymoron? I mean, who likes a bully to begin with – let alone … really enjoys a good bully romance story? I never thought I would… but here I am. Captivated. Addicted. Hanging onto every word in this book. Begging for more…

I’ll say that since I first encountered Jennifer Sucevic’s books in the “Campus” series I’ve been a big fan. So of course I love a good author binge and was quite happy to start binging Sucevic’s other books. That’s how I found both “The King of Hawthorne Prep” and “The Queen of Hawthorne Prep” not too long ago – which, I will admit, the tone, setting, and content of those books took me a little by surprise. I guess I was in a happy college sports romance bubble after the “Campus” books – not expecting Sucevic to totally flip the script! Who knew she could be so sinister and borderline cruel at times – it was a real shocker! The best kind though.

But I won’t dive too much into the two books preceding this one, except to say that I flipping loved them! It took a minute to get over the “evilness” of the bully aspect and the cruelty of the characters (who knew privileged high schoolers could be so evil?), but once I came to terms with this new tone… who am I kidding, I was captivated from go. And that’s what happened with this book, too, “The Prince of Hawthorne Prep” is no different.

We met Austin and Delilah in book #1, but we mostly got to know Austin and just saw glimpses of Delilah in books 1 and 2. This book is all from Delilah’s perspective, and I have to admit that I was craving Austin’s perspective throughout the book. I had gotten used to the back-and-forth perspectives in all of Sucevic’s previous books, so just getting the one perspective was an interesting change of pace. But man does Sucevic make us like Delilah – she’s so sweet and smart… yet Sucevic – yet again – has us hating the main character’s weaknesses – Delilah’s lack of backbone at times, but she’s still strong so it was such an emotional kunundrum. Likewise she has us hating Austin and his – shall we just call it for what it is? Asshole-ish ways? Because that’s what they are – yet we still swoon over him. It’s messed up, I know – but you just crave it all! And if these contradicting emotions weren’t enough to confuse you – then we find ourselves judging… and that creates a whole situation because who wants to be a judgy biotch? But you’ll totally find yourself judging, while simultaneously sympathizing. It’s a whole thing. You feel for Delilah and her situation with her boyfriend, you find yourself rooting for her and Austin because of the undeniable chemistry… oh swoon. Yet then the tables turn, as they inevitably always do and boy does Sucevic take us on a ride! Yowsa!!! I can’t even talk about it – it would all be a spoiler alert situation and there’s just too much to unpack… AND THEN!!! The end of this book – oh-my-everloving-gawwwd!!!!! The way that Sucevic ends this book and has us barely holding on with the tips of our fingernails – and then the freekin’ book just ends!!! I’m not going to lie – I was yelling… I immediately DM’d Sucevic to complain that the wait for the next book is entirely too long. I think she chuckled… again, cruel temptress. But she wears it well.

All in all, Jennifer Sucevic is a fantastic writer and her stories are always captivating. Her body of work shows an array of types of contemporary romance – yet in each and every one, I have found that the tone and emotions that the books set is so all-enveloping that it covers you like a blanket and you get lost in her world. This Hawthorne Prep world is one of her darker worlds, but it is nonetheless captivating. Just prepare yourself for some major bully situations, and the frustrations that ensue… I found myself so frustrated throughout these books – but nonetheless captivated. I literally could not put any of the books in the Hawthorne series down and I am salivating for the fourth book! Fantastic writing, even better character development and storyline – frustration and contradicting emotions included! Well done, Sucevic – I very impatiently await book 4. I’d be happy to be a fly on the wall when you’re proofing it… I need to know what happens!!!

“This boy will ruin me for all others.”

Prince of Hawthorne Prep is a deliciously addictive high school bully romance that had me furiously turning the pages to see what would happen next. Delilah is trapped in a relationship with Jasper, the bully QB for their high school football team. Jasper is cruel and sadistic and she longs to be free of him. Austin is the new boy at school who she feels a connection to, but when Jasper’s cruel prank leads to humiliation for Austin, Austin is determined to take his revenge using her as his pawn.

“Sometimes, it feels like I’m caught between these two boys. There’s one I want desperately to get away from and the other whom I find myself irresistibly attracted to.”

Delilah is reeling from the secrets she has discovered as well as the extent of Jasper’s cruelty. She’s fighting to survive and keep her head above water, but she has an inner strength that will help carry her through. Her awakening feelings and desires for Austin are a revelation to her as well as a curse.

“He sees things that I’m not necessarily comfortable with.”

Delilah and Austin were captivating. I could feel their longing for each other even though neither particularly wanted that connection. While Austin could be mean and ruthless, there was an underlying gentleness to him in his interactions with Delilah. Even without his POV, I could tell that he longed to trust her and take her at her word.

“How can I long for his kisses when I’m nothing more than a pawn in his game?”

Told completely in Delilah’s POV, we experience her longing, fear, passion and determination firsthand although I will admit that I would like to know what Austin was thinking as well. However, I was completely engaged in the story and that cliffhanger at the end has me on pins and needles for the next book in this highly entertaining duet.

I loved these books. The king and Queen of Hawthorn Prep and now the Prince of Hawthorn Prep. I cannot wait for the sequel. I normally never read a book unless I have the sequel in hand but I couldn't resist, they were that good. I must say though, I seriously struggle with these kids who behave beyond their years. The possessiveness and jealousy as well as the ugliness. Like do kids like this really exist. Yeah yeah I know its just fiction...
It's still baffling.
All in all this series was unputdownable.

Nooo, don't let it stop there. Mercy what an intense af book. I absolutely love this arthur's stories there is never a dull moment just full of angst, bullying and enough steam to be a sauna. This book had me feeling all the feel's. If you read Summer's and Kingsley's story King of Hawthorne Prep this is book 3, and is about Austin and Delilah he's Summer's twin brother. She's been dating the QB Jasper for the last 6 month's and she's finally realizing she wants out of it, yeh because he's a real piece of work, but she knows it won't be easy seeing how she's afraid of him, but one day she meets the new guy Austin and feels a connection to him, and apparently he feels it to. That's what I liked about him he didn't beat around the bushes he just told her "Why are you with him, because you deserve better". Delilah, I wasn't to happy with her I feel she needs to grow a backbone and stand up for herself. This poor girl can't catch a break. Especially after that damn cliffhanger that just blew my mind. Now I have to wait on the next book to find out what happens, and I have a feeling thing's will go from bad to worse. This was so good don't miss it.

It's the first book by Jennifer Sucevic that I have read and I loved the writing! I'll definitely read more of her books!

Let's talk about the book. It's a contemporary romance with the following tropes: bully romance, fake relationship, sports romance & love triangle. It's actually the 3rd book in the Hawthorne Prep Series, but this one can be read without reading the previous ones, but it's book one in a duet and not a standalone novel (that's why it ends on a cliffhanger).

This book is about Delilah, a "poor" student in Hawthorne Prep with a scholarship. Delilah is a quiet and weak character. I liked her, she is cute and sweet. She is in a relationship with Jasper, a rich asshole, who thinks is the best in the world and everyone should serve him. He doesn't care about Delilah and he is very misogynistic. I really wanted him dead; he is awful! The third party in the triangle is Austin Hawthorne; a student who came back to Hawthorne Prep and everyone hates him because of his family background. I really loved Austin; he is cute and handsome, and a bit of a bully, but he has his reasons. He is definitely book-boyfriend material! Delilah and Austin come close and they start bonding. That's when everyone's life turns into hell.

Last but not least, I have to point out that there are some trigger warnings in the book and some people might have bad feelings reading it; namely, there is attempted rape, bullying and drugging someone.

Overall, I really loved this book and I can't wait for the next one! I need it ASAP! I totally recommend it!

If you saw my story, you know I was conflicted about this one. I literally loved to hate it, as is my relationship with the bully romance trope. The Author’s writing was captivating and I read the book in a little over 24 hours. She gave us sympathy, lust, betrayal, spice, and lots of angst. This is likely one of my favorite bully romances I’ve read. However, I was not prepared for this book to be part 1 and for the gigantic cliffhanger at the end. The continuation of Austin and Delilah’s story will be in Princess of Hawthorne Prep which will release February 10th. My recommendation would be that if you love cliffs and know this one’s coming, go read it now. If you’re not a fan of cliffs, Stop at 88% before starting Chapter 29. This will let you experience this addicting book without making you want to throw your kindle at the wall when you get to the end, like me. 🙃

If a year ago someone told me that I would be reading a bully romance and love it , I couldn't believe it. But here I am reading Prince of Hawthorne Prep and loving it and have to say that this is my first Jennifer Sucevic novel . But won't be the last . This book kept me on edge from the first page and I couldn't put it down . This is Delilah and Austin's story told in Delilah's POV . And I so want to know what is Austin's POV . They are both two good people trying to survive the hostile environment in Hawthorne Prep high school where nothing and nobody is what it seems on the outside .
Delilah is a good girl and always plays by the rules and obeys her mother's decisions but also sees the pretence that rules the school . And she is so strong for meeting every new day with her head held high .
Austin is very much possessive type of guy set on revenge for his public humiliation by Jasper and is using Delilah for that . But this fake hate - relationship is turning into something that neither of them saw coming .
Delilah's ex , Jasper is definitely the villain in this story who doesn't love to loose and is dead set on ruining their lives to be the winner . The story is full of vengeance , malice , tension , possessiveness and a lot of hot and spicy scenes .
Prince of Hawthorne Prep is part of a duet and ends on a cliffhanger and I don't know what to do with myself till the second book comes . So it's all Jennifer Sucevic's fault that this nerdy girl is on her way to read the other books while waiting for the second book in this duet .

I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review .

Having read Ms.Sucevic's work a handful of times before i've been wanting to pick up more of her books! Ever since i found out about this installment, i knew i had to read it next! I picked it up and got right into the Hawthorne Prep world! I so enjoyed it!

Delilah’s journey captured my attention right from the very get go! Not fitting in and being on the outside looking in is something Delilah knows all too well. She wants nothing more than to get away from evil Jasper and his wrath. Whenever she locks eyes with Austin, she feels things she never has before. Can she handle everything thrown her way?

Going into this story, i didn't quite know what all to expect and i really liked how i got into this story quickly. I felt for and related to Delilah. I wasn't sure how she'd deal with things, especially when it came to Jasper, school, her life, and of course Austin. I went through so many emotions from start to finish!

I was glad that i got to jump into the Hawthorne Prep world!

With Prince of Hawthorne Prep, Ms.Sucevic has created such a good and dark read that had me feeling so much! I gotta know what happens next! I can't wait to dive back into this world with the fourth installment, Princess of Hawthorne Prep!

There are triggers in this story.

*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Wordsmith Publicity / the author*

I want to scream out loud while I'm reading this book because I'm so frustrated with Delilah's naivete!

The story begins with Delilah's conflict feeling. She has a boyfriend who she wants to break up with and she attracts to a new guy who seems to be interested in her too. But with her naivete, she turns both of them to be her enemies. I don't blame Austin one bit for bullying Delilah because all of her actions point to the betrayal. And Delilah's boyfriend is definitely evil incarnate. I think Austin deeply cares for Delilah but with her betrayal, he wants revenge. All of these cause the story so much angsty and intense. But I find that Austin's tortures are sexy and steamy AF. His possessiveness is super hot too.

What a surprise is the book is a cliffhanger! I didn't prepare for it so I feel flabbergasted when I reached the end. But I have to say that Jennifer Sucevic is very cruel with a situation she left us all to wait. Now I can't wait for "Princess of Hawthorne Prep." And I hope Delilah will be stronger than she is in this book because I think she needs all of her strength to fight for Austin and herself.

I could not put it down!! Aaaaggghhh! Forewarning there’s a massive cliffhanger and February 2023 cannot come quickly enough for book 2 of this duet, Princess of Hawthorn Prep, to come out. Delilah is a young girl that I just want to pick up and hug, she is in such a tough situation with pressure from all sides. Austin has his own issues to deal with and he is such a dynamic main character who captures your attention and doesn’t let go. An intense, steamy, emotional, angsty, dark, twisted romance that is brilliantly written by a master author of this genre.

I've been looking forward to this story since it was teased a bit in the first book of the series.
These two have great chemistry from the get go. The longing looks and slight missed connections were great. And then it takes a turn plot wise that flips the script and the relationship and I was put on edge once again.
I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Oh my….so much angst and drama. The cliffhanger is a doozie and it definitely does it’s job as I can’t wait for Princess of Hawthorne. Delilah is in trouble and I can see that she is stuck between a rock and a hard place! Austin and Jaspar has her stuck between them and not in a good way at all. I have a feeling there is a lot more drama and angst heading readers way in Princess of Hawthorne. I have so many things circling around in my mind after reading last chapter of Prince of Hawthorne that it’s gonna be a while before I can think of anything else. It can go in so many different directions but I do know one thing Jennifer Sucevic is gonna takes us for a wild ride. I just love all of her books. The characters are the greatest (heroes, heroines, anti-heroes, villains, and supporting characters)! I have never been disappointed in any of her books. Jennifer’s books are filled with lots of drama, angst, twists, turns, things going sideways, all the feels, and soooo much heat 🔥🔥 and Prince of Hawthorne is no exception. I know I said this before but I just can’t wait for Princess of Hawthorne!! Highly recommend Prince of Hawthorne, Hawthornee Prep series, and Jennifer Sucevic as an author!! Happy Reading!!

I’m hooked

I’m honestly hooked on the story, but pretty pissed that it was so short for having cost me $5. And since it’s a duet, I need to fork over another $5 to finish the story. Had I known it was so short, I wouldn’t have bothered to read. I don’t mind the price for a full book, but I feel cheated 🙄

Delilah only wants to survive senior year to get away from Hawthorne. But how much she should want it, she only gets to reveal.

Being in a relationship that doesn’t work anymore is bad, being attracted to the new not so popular boy is badder, but discovering a really unwanted secret of your mother is the baddest.

As a scholarship student Delilah has to keep her head down and only focus on her grades to gain her goal. Because in a town like Hawthorne only wealth counts.

But suddenly Delilah finds herself in the middle of a war between two boys who only use her to get to the other one. For different reasons.

Blackmailed, betrayed and with no way out Delilah has to play the pawn in this game to keep others from being hurt. Only in the process getting hurt herself and her heart broken.

In the end, no one trusts the other and Delilah doesn’t know how to prove herself that she is innocent. When at one front things seem to calm a little, something unexpected happens.

My heart really broke for poor Delilah, who doesn’t want anybody to get hurt but is far from being able to manage this. So she takes everything everyone throws at her to protect the ones she cares for, and gets hurt herself. Just for being the young, innocent and nice little girl that she is.

Ok so 4.5 stars for this beauty here! Warning it does leave with a cliffy and I’m glad i only have to wait until February…but I’d take it sooner!

Got introduced to the world of Hawthorne Prep in King and Queen with Kingsley and Summer and was drawn into them as well as a few other character including the main two in this duet.

Delilah is the good girl trying to fit in and do right by everyone and Austin is the new boy with a bad reputation but really a good heart and fiercely protective of those he loves/cares about. He’s a little rough around the edges and possessive as well but I would say Kingsley at this time tops him there.

You have the mean click and I pray they get what’s coming to them in 2nd book but I hope it doesn’t cost our h too much. I’m not gonna lie…have a pit in my stomach for the angst and drama that may have to unfold before we get a HEA.

There are also a few adults who need to grow up and do better but guess some of that is from the elite in society!

I do wish we we had Austin point of view and I am hoping for some of that in book two.

I did receive as an ARC from author for honest review. Thank you so much for this story and I can’t wait to read how things end up for Austin and Delilah.

OMG! For teenagers these people are evil, they are so nasty and spiteful and even though I didn’t like any of them, I couldn’t help but be engrossed in this story, I had to know what awfulness was coming round the corner.
It’s a testament to the great writing skills of Ms. Sucevic that she can craft a story that makes you care enough about these characters to keep turning the pages to see what happens next.
Delilah is dating Jasper who is just a nasty piece of work, this girl needs to work on her self-respect and get away from him. And then there’s Austin; lots of lingering looks and pent-up desire, the chemistry is off the charts between these two.
Delilah ends up a pawn between these two boys, one wants to destroy her, the other wants her but doesn’t trust her.
This story is addictive. It also frustratingly ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the conclusion to this this tale.
