The teen’s offenses were “at the most serious end of the scale of criminality,” and had material that was “extremely depraved and horrific in nature,” but note how careful the Australian media is not to tell us exactly what it is. Only far down in the story do we get mention of the Islamic State; before that, for paragraph after paragraph, the boy was some unspecified type of “extremist.” The Australian authorities, like their counterparts in Europe and North America, are dealing with the symptom — boys such as this one — and not with the problem itself — the ideology that leads them to take “extreme” actions such as this boy took. As far as Western authorities are concerned, the ideology is great, and we need more of it in the West. Then boys such as this one appear, and the authorities scratch their heads in bafflement, or remain resolutely incurious about where such young men come from and how their beliefs are formed.
“Adelaide schoolboy who allegedly possessed extremist material to be sentenced as an adult,” by Meagan Dillon, ABC.net.au, October 31, 2022:
A 15-year-old Adelaide schoolboy who allegedly possessed extremist material and coached others online about how to make bombs will be sentenced as an adult, meaning he could face up to 15 years in prison….
Judge Penny Eldridge…said she agreed with prosecutors that the “gravity of the offending” meant he should be sentenced as an adult.
“The offences for which the youth has been charged are at the most serious end of the scale of criminality and the circumstances of them are extreme and of significant concern,” she stated….
Prosecutor Aimee Winra previously told the court that the “gravity of the offending” meant the boy should be sentenced as an adult.
“This is not simply a case of a collection of a large volume of extremist material, which can only be categorised as extremely depraved and horrific in nature,” Ms Winra said.
“The offending goes beyond that — there are active steps by the accused to provide guidance to others online on how to make explosives, suggesting he had a technical capacity to do so in pledging allegiance to the Bay’ah.”
The concept of “Bay’ah” is to pledge allegiance to Islamic State.
Ms Wintra said detention centre staff also found drawings in his room of the Islamic State flag.
The boy’s lawyer, Chris Weir, previously told Judge Eldridge that while his client would plead guilty to the crimes, further negotiations were needed to consolidate some of the counts before he officially entered his pleas….
He said the boy was receiving counselling in detention and taking part in a specialist program for children who are potentially radicalised.

I suppose because in all our countries Muslims are continually trying to commit terrorist acts or trying to facilitate such acts like the arsehole in this report, you end up barely noticing them. I live in Australia but I took little notice of this news. I suspect most people barely noticed it. Hope he gets the 15 years in jail. If only they could then deport the maggot once his time in jail is over.

At the same time as this little darling was arse deep in his plans, we have to wonder what his parents were up to?
Did they know about what he was doing?
Did they approve of what he was doing?
And of course we have to ask, is his mosque being investigated over this?

Yes, Keith O, I bet that the parents were aware of the activities off this poisonous toad of a 15 year old. Probably, at home, they would have been full of praise for Muslim terrorists and full of hatred for all non-Muslims. I bet the parents and whatever mosque he attended are all proud of this scumbag. It is a huge problem that when he gets out of jail, if he does get the 15 years sentence, this piece of shit will be only 30 years old. I hope that they find a way to kick him out of the country once he is released.

This turd and anyone associated with him needs an ankle monitor for the rest of their mangy lives.
The barracks/mosque needs to be closed as well.

I agree, Keith O. Better still, though it’ll never happen because no doubt the family are all Australian citizens, would be to piss them all off back to some Muslim country. Whenever these would be terrorists are allowed to stay in Australia, they always cost the taxpayer a fortune to keep track of what they are up to.
