    First, having hugged 4 or 5 shipping guys (!) from the course, I went straight to an impromptu job interview with IBM and started applying my downward inflections. He could not offer me a position right now, and, without even…

    Thank you so much for 2 very amazing days in Rotterdam! Sometimes you know as I do right now that your life has shifted and that things will not be the same going forward. I want to share 3 things that happened within 6 hours of the workshop with you, Robbie & Gaby.

    First, having hugged 4 or 5 shipping guys (!) from the course, I went straight to an impromptu job interview with IBM and started applying my downward inflections. He could not offer me a position right now, and, without even looking at my resume, said when he got the headcount he would like me to work for him.

    Second, I met with my wife. Things have been rocky for some time. Many predator/prey models have been tested. I felt so good that I gave her all my upbeat energy, took her to a French bistro in the heart of Rotterdam, had a great evening (really!) and ended up with a warm embrace and a tender kiss before heading to the airport. Yeah, it was like falling in love again.

    Third, I had 10kg overweight when I checked in because of Christmas presents and goodies for the kids. The lady at the counter had short, platinum blond hair and was very quick to point this out.Then I started to think. I offered her my best smile, told her exactly how much marzipan I had bought for the kids and asked her if she could charge me via my AMEX card (with a downward inflection). Then pause and smile. She processed the rest of the check-in in silence and ended up leaning towards me with a smile and said: so, if you run now I won't have the time to charge you... I almost felt like leaning over and hugging her, too. Going towards security I felt elated.

    I'm now waiting in Munich fly back to Hong Kong and my 2 sons. Writing this brings lots of emotions. I can't help thinking back and wondering how a lot of things could have been different. Since it is in the past there's nothing I can do about that. I look forward to see where things will go from now on.
