The Leftist-Islamic alliance continues to show signs of fraying. Will Ravina Shamdasani now apologize to the Taliban so as to avoid appearing “Islamophobic”? Will she haul out some deceptive Western Muslim spokesman to assure the gullible Left that the Taliban is misunderstanding and misapplying Sharia? Most likely she will simply ignore Zabiullah Mujahid’s statements, but eventually the Leftist establishment of which the UN is an integral part is going to find these contradictions impossible to avoid.
“Taliban repudiate as an ‘insult to Islam’ UN criticism of their whipping punishments,” by Daniel Stewart, News 360, November 26, 2022:
…The spokeswoman of the United Nations Office for Human Rights, Ravina Shamdasani, declared herself last Friday “dismayed” by the use of whipping as a public punishment with cases such as the one that occurred last Wednesday in the province of Logar, where 14 people were victims of this “aberrant” punishment.
In response, the usual Taliban spokesman and deputy information minister, Zabiullah Mujahid, considered these statements as an “insult to Islam and a violation of international principles”.
“Countries and organizations should not allow self-interested individuals to make irresponsible and provocative remarks about Islam and its rules in their name,” he said on his Twitter account.
Taliban leader Mullah Hebatullah Ajundzada recently ordered Afghanistan’s judges to fully apply ‘sharia’ — or Islamic law — against those who commit a range of crimes that could be punishable even by public amputations or stoning for offenses such as robbery, kidnapping or sedition.

An insult to islam!! islam is primitive, 7th century crap and that is all that the sharia type punishments are. Such disgusting, primitive rubbish deserves to be insulted constantly. It is 2022 and 7th century Arabian barbarity is a throwback to primitive times and deserves every insult it receives. Maybe if it gets insulted enough it might shame the Muslims into ditching such primitive garbage.

Insults to Islam are usually followed by actions from Muslims that are in line with Sharia and are very severe.

Too true.
Wellington says
There are three menaces and insults to the human race above all presently prominent in our time and they are, in no particular order, Islam, Western Leftism and your standard and so typical authoritarianism as exhibited by such freedom-crushing polities as China, North Korea, Venezuela and Russia.
Minus 1) the oldest totalitarian ideology in existence, i.e., Islam; 2) Western Leftism (and which is doing its best to collapse the West from within); and 3) your standard authoritarian crap—banal, control-freakish, corrupt, stupid and evil too of course—mankind would be so much better off.
Yeah, I know it’s a tall order to get rid of this malevolent trinity but this still doesn’t mean it would not be ideal if mankind did. And ideals are the guiding light by which mankind prospers and advances. Surely.

Good summary, Wellington. As you say, they are truly a malevolent trinity and a menace to civilised human life.

Taliban spokesman says UN criticism of its Sharia punishments is ‘insult to Islam’
……………………………………….
Well, this *is* how pious Muslims think.
Westman says
If the UN is mistaken, why are some Islamic nations calling the Taliban, “An insult to Islam”?
All this claim of brotherly love in Islam is gaslighting on steroids. It’s all about image over reality, the general “Islam is peaceful” consensus being, “Speak well of Islam and Muhammad or we’ll hurt you!”
Islam dislikes Muslims who create a bad image and anyone who draws attention to it, yet, is most likely to only take action toward the latter.

The problem with having a holy book that comprises a revelation given to one man in his lifetime, is that there is no room for development within it, or for separating guiding principles from the way that they were applied when they were first articulated – what Jesus described as the difference between the letter of the Law and the spirit of the Law.

According to the feature article:
“Taliban spokesman says UN criticism of its Sharia punishments is ‘insult to Islam’”
Yes, it does – and accurately – insult the tenets of islam.
Deal with it, Taliban spokesman.

Well the left cant oppose an ideology they support, or can they? Watching that unfold would be like watching the high wire act of the century. Every one of us must be careful who we lay down with ideologically lest we wake up with some terrible conundrum. You know, just like what many on the left are facing today. Once again the left didn’t think it through to its inevitable conclusion. The left not thinking it through to its inevitable conclusion has become repetitious, and frankly, tiresome.
