I wasn’t ready for this book. Honestly, I had no idea what kind of emotional, thoughtful and poignant story was hidden behind this gorgeous cover. For me, as a reader that has been reading Tijan books since 2014, I feel this book was her best yet. It was thought provoking, deeply emotional and incredibly touching.
But I must admit that during the first 20% of the book, I wasn’t sure what to think.
On the surface this book sounded like a sports rom-com, with an adorably dorky heroine and a typical professional athlete. But it was so much MORE!!
Charlie was one of the most unique heroines the author has come up with yet. The way she coped with her past was different, it’s hard to describe, but it all makes sense further into the book. Seeing her change, open up, and letting go – it actually felt good, freeing, like a weight has been lifted. Her change is the most significant but also the most emotional of all. Not since Ryan’s Bed have I felt this deeply about a book by this author.
The way Charlie and Reese meshed was beyond amazing. They clicked, recognized each other’s pain, and were willing to open up, sometimes with help of a little push, but both were there for the other and that was what made this book so good!!
Reese was in some ways a typical jock, but he was also so much more. The way he “saw” Charlie was insanely endearing. He was assertive when needed, but also supportive and understanding – he was a dream guy.
I think my favorite part about this book was seeing their friendship develop, deepen and flourish. It didn’t hurt that Tijan wrote some of her best platonic friendships yet.
The entire novel felt more mature, thoughtful, and deeper than anything Tijan has written before. Low on drama – high on emotions. And I was LOVING it!!

“Teardrop shot” felt so different from Tijan’s other books I certainly wasn’t expecting this emotional and heartbreaking story. I loved the way the author took her time with the MC’s Charlie and Reese with each encounter I felt their connection grow more and more. Charlie was such a refreshing h her dry sense of humor had me laughing and rolling eyes but she was so much more than that. Reese too was amazing not what I was expecting he was pure heart. This is what I call the definition of friends to lovers it was done just perfect IMHO. I’m so in love with this story, with these characters that made me feel so much and it was so much more than just Charlie and Reese there was also the wonderful support system they both had in their friends, especially for Charlie. And that epilogue?! Best basketball ever! Had me in happy tears. Can’t wait to re read this one again. ♥️

I am definitely a Tijan fan and so, of course, I want to read every book she releases...I did not, however, expect to love this book so much, that from now on, Mason will have to share his number one spot. I absolutely adored Charlie and Reese !!!
From the moment I started reading, I was pulled in and I did an all-nighter so I could finish in one go. I loved it that much. Maybe it was the writing style...maybe it was the awesome characters or maybe it was the interesting storyline. It was probably all of those combined though
Now this book was pretty long, but for me...I could have done with even double the pages !!
Anyways, I love sports book, awesome heroes and quirky heroines, so I really hit the jackpot with this one ;) I also love me some angst and emotion and I got that as well.
How would you feel when your whole world is crumbling, but then, when you think you are at your lowest...you meet your idol and he turns out to be everything and so much more !!!
I have to admit that I don't know crap about basketball, but I would definitely go to every game to cheer Reese on !! That man was fine...in every way ;)
It took me some time to get used to Charlie though. The questions felt a bit weird in the beginning, but once Reese started answering, I was actually hoping she would ask him more.
These two were absolutely adorkable. This book was filled with heartache, laughter, steam, friendship and most of all...love !!
It shows that everyone deserves a second chance at love. It is definitely gonna end up on my "favorite MF reads of 2019" list.
I highly recommend it to everyone.

This was a cute emotional sports romance. The characters were so adorable and heartwarming. The book had the equal balance between heavy heartbreaking moments and cute humor. I loved Reese and how calm, patient, and understanding he was. My only issue with this book is that maybe I loved them more as friends?
I don’t know, I just didn’t feel much when they were together. I felt like there was something messing. I loved it more when their relation was just a platonic friendship. But still it was so enjoyable.

Teardrop Shot is a quirky emotional romance that at the end of the day, you will find yourself wanting to hug some these characters. They went through a lot and I liked that through the heavy moments, we were rewarded with some much needed humor.
Charlie has been through a lot the past few years in her personal life. She’s sacrificed more than anyone could have imagined and to this day, she still feels a certain kind of pain whenever she thinks about the “what ifs”. After a bad breakup and being fired from her job, Charlie decides to start over and by doing that, she has to go back to her past for a bit. No reconnecting with old friends at her new job, charlie’s job is about to get more complicated when she meets her basketball idol.
Reese has it all. Adoring fans, money, good looks, and some of the best team members that anyone could ever ask for. But his personal life on the other hand is in turmoil. With his own family drama dynamic, the only thing that Reese wants to focus on right now, is being the best for his team. Everything else can take a back seat. But as fate would have it, someone is about to turn his whole world upside down and fill it with nothing but humor.
I have to say that I really loved Reese. He was this giant force but he had this calmness to him and in every single scene that he was a part of, I felt the safety and pure rawness and honesty coming off of him. I also loved his interactions with Charlie and I felt like they really did compliment each other perfectly in a weird way. They started off as friends and we got to witness them cross over and become lovers which was the best part.
I’ll admit that I did have a few issues with this one. Despite me thinking that they were good for each other, something felt like it was missing. I’m not sure what it was, but it was there. I also felt like the story was really slow at times and that made it a bit hard for me to keep my focus especially with the length of the book. Aside from that, I did enjoy most of it and if you’re a fan of sports romance, then I think this one might be for you.

This was the polar opposite of any book Tijan has ever written, I'd go so far to say it actually was like reading a new author entirely.
I think the h was supposed to be funny and a bit kooky but she just came across as a total weirdo and the dialogue was so off the wall I had to re-read whole paragraphs to try and understand what on earth she was talking about?
The humour wasn't funny it was just cringeworthy and painful to read and I'll be honest I didn't have a clue what the hell was going on, add to that the words of the story just didn't flow it just felt very forced and disjointed.
In fairness if I DNF a book I usually don't rate it but this was so terrible I felt 1 star was appropriate for the pages of crap that I did read.

I feel like a broken record when I say this but I LOVE Tijan's books. Every new book release of her's makes me giddy with excitement.
The first time I read Tijan's book was during the winter of 2014. Carter Reed was the first book I read and ever since, I have devoured and inhaled every book.
Tijan is without a doubt one of my favourite author and her latest TEARDROP SHOT is beyond incredible.
I am a sucker for sports romance and at the same time, I am very picky about them too. I can say with utmost conviction that Teardrop Shot is so much more than a sports romance.
Having read the book, I feel like I am drowning with emotions that were so unexpected.
I am having such a hard time trying to explain how good this book is. It is by far MY favourite Tijan book of ALL TIME! Yup. It's that good.
I have never loved, cried, laughed as much as I did with any other books written by her. I never wanted this book to end. EVER.
Reese and Charlie are such unbelievable characters. I love how weird and unapologetic Charlie is about herself. I LOVE LOVE her nervous rambles and hilarious questions.
Reese, this man is staggeringly out of this world. His patience and understanding nature is divine! Let's state the obvious here and say that when Tijan describes his physique? I drooled and so will you hahahah.
Reese and Charlie have the most unique incredible chemistry. The spark between these two characters make for an addictive read. Their banters are hysterical. I mean, I could go on and on and pin point every single detail that I loved about this book but where's the fun in that?
Nothing I've read by Tijan has disappointed me and she just hit the nail with this book. Teardrop Shot is a MUST READ!!
Highly recommend it.

whoa this was so much more than I expected. 😳 ngl I picked this up cause I was obsessed with Jay McLean’s Heartache duet and wanted to read something with a similar vibe and, tho it did have that in some parts, Teardrop Shot was beautiful in its own way. I loved seeing the way Reese (H) and Charlie (h) formed a friendship, opened up to each other and understood the other’s pain. Their romance was emotionally beautiful and I loved every moment of it! 😌❤️

You are not quirky, you are just really annoying.
Someone explain to me how her asking weird, not random and funny, but weird and annoying questions whenever, is supposed to be quirky and makes her not like other girls?
Some of the questions are:
"Ever think saltwater and freshwater have a conversation and ask which one is better?"
"Why do we call it refrigerator and not a food cooler?"
"When global warming melts all the snow, will Antarctica have to change its name?"
there is probably 50 more of those.
On top of this just being extremely annoying, the writing was not my favourite. Sentences felt unnecessarily long but not in a "complex sentence" way but in a "talking without pauses" way.
There were some good plots but they were overshadowed but how annoying the main character was and I just cannot get over her and how she talked. The third act break-up was also really unnecessary and not really explainable.

This was a really good book. It was funny, the characters are likeable, it was heartbreaking and the friendships are heart warming. Buuuuut it was only ok for me.
The heroine can be annoying sometimes (in the beginning mostly but I liked her in the end). I prefer subtle humour than in-your-face humour but that’s just my personal preference.
I didn’t really like the development/progression of h and H relationship here and that’s my favorite part in any kind of romance novel. Idk, it just felt unreal? Like she was the biggest fan girl ever then suddenly she’s mellow towards him. Maybe its cuz of the more telling than showing kind of writing. She tells us that she suddenly thinks of him as a normal “man” but there’s no action that indicates this.
I liked the characters but halfway through the book, I’m not really rooting for the MCs to be together because there’s not enough scenes of them that MAKE me wanna root for them.
All those cute, heartwarming with a little mixture of sexual tension moments that I love wasn’t really present here when they were in the “friend zone”. In some scenes that were like this, it was mostly the hero teasing the heroine in almost a brotherly way and then suddenly they’re talking bout their shit and they’re having sex? Yeah... don’t really like that.
And the fact when cute scenes are about to happen it just ends abruptly, then were off to the next chapter... uhh no thanks. This even happened when they first slept together. We never got to read that part because it was only told and not shown.
Anywaysss this was still really cute, funny and sweet but my enjoyment was just meh.

Since the end of May, when I saw a post of this book with the psycho snippet, I have devoured 5 books by this author including Teardrop Shot. To say that I am surprised would be an understatement. I don’t read New Adult or Young Adult romance fiction. The age group makes me twitchy so I am really careful about the authors I will read who write in this genre. Tijan sucked me in with her voodoo word wizardly powers! I have no other explanation LOL And now my kindle has every single book she has ever written!
Man I had fun with this one! And Charlie did indeed turn out to be adorably psycho #WIN She pulled a lot of feelings from me with her journey. The history she had to overcome to grow her future was heart-stopping to say the least. I’m still reeling from it all and I’ve read the story twice. And Reese …. He just made me *happy sigh* throughout this entire journey.
Okay, so I’m not giving a play by play of any of it but I do want to say one thing. This book deals with some pretty serious issues and Tijan does it well. Issues that millions of people face every day. It isn’t rainbows and gumdrops and if you happen to be someone who’s living these issues, reach out to your tribe. That’s why they’re there. No one needs to walk that path alone. Ever.

His name has been in the media lately because his estranged brother has been in a sexual scandal. Meanwhile he will be attending pre-season training camp.
The heroine: Charlie - recently dumped, she finds out by her boyfriend’s grandfather that he already has moved on with another girl, and in her Reese Forster basketball shirt no less. She gets a call from someone she hadn’t heard from in six years. Trent had called in the past, but she has ignored him, this time he keeps calling back, so she picks it up and Trent ends up staying with her. Charlie is quirky and a bit crazy. When things got too much for her, weird and random things jumped right out of her mouth.
The Story: Trent asks Charlie to go with him back to their old stomping grounds the following morning, Echo Island Camp in Minnesota. It was a sanctuary for Charlie, she had gone there as a kid, and was a counselor as a teen. She ran from the group of friends that go there every year and hasn’t been back since. She knew suddenly that it was long past time that she returns and sees them all again. She had ghosted them when she was dating a guy named Damien and was going through something.
Charlie and Reese end up at the same summer camp on Echo Island. Charlie is assigned to work in the gym courts and has to sign an NDA to get the job. Charlie was supposed to work 5 am to midnight and she was assigned to the fish cabin (used to be where they cleaned the fish) so she wasn’t looking forward to the smell in there. I gotta say, from the start I absolutely loved the crazy things that came out of her mouth, usually silly questions. This book was fun from the start, and I loved Charlie!
This story was really good, both Charlie and Reese had a lot of pain in their pasts and the stories were very different than any other book I have read before. I loved the fact that they really get to know each other well before things get steamy. Of course, they are attracted to each other from the start, but they become really good friends first.
This book was told via solo narration, though most was in Charlie’s point of view. It was narrated by Savannah Peachwood. Savannah is a terrific narrator and I love her soft and youthful voice and she is one of my favorite female narrators and she was absolutely perfect as Charlie.

This book destroyed me, in more ways than one. First, I cannot remember laughing out loud so much or so frequently while reading any book. I've laughed before but NEVER like I did with this book. Charlie's crazy and her inappropriate twenty questions slayed me. My eyes would start leaking and my abs feel like I gave them an hour long workout.
**Reader Warning** do not consume any beverages or food while reading this book. The beverage could very easily shoot out through your nose due to unexpected laughter and it will burn like a bitch. No food because you may actually choke on it from laughing so hard.

DNF. This book is weird...its written weird, little background, cant understand whats going on unless I keep rereading....the heroine is odd. Honestly, it doesn't even feel like Tijan wrote it. Unfortunately I dont have one good thing to say.

All the stars!!! I LOVED this book. I don’t say this next part lightly...this is my FAVORITE Tijan book!! Total perfection. Loved every second.
Being an uber Tijan fan = easy. I've loved all of her books and always connect with her characters BUT this one. This one is on another level for me. I found myself at 11% completely ensnared by the characters, story and raw emotions, whether they were happy or heartbreaking. The beauty in these complex people had me swooning, cheering and absolutely head over heels. I LOVED every part of this romance. The easy and the hard parts. The friendships, heart and loss had me handing over my heart and losing myself in the blanket of words brought to life by Tijan. Again. Basketball and words. IT is truly my two favorite things (other than my family...blah blah :) and like always Tijan delivers it with angled precision right in the FEELS. Bravo girl. I have loved almost every book by Tijan that I have picked up. This author is one of my favorites in the New Adult Romance genre. And this one was a no surprise 5 star read for me!
When I saw that Tijan was releasing a Standalone Sports Romance I knew I was going to need to immediately pick it up.
I didn’t know too much going in other than:
“I'm adorably psychotic. He's in the NBA.
This is not a disaster waiting to happen, at all.”
How could I not immediately pick it up as soon as I received it on my Kindle? And I read it all in one sitting! I was hooked.
Charlie is a quirky main character that we are first introduced to while she is being dumped by her ex-boyfriend’s grandfather and being propositioned to all at the same time. Oh yeah and did I mention that she just got fired from her job as well? Yeah sounds like a great day. So, when one of her old friends reaches out to her to have a few drinks she ends up saying yes to going back and working at her old job at a sports camp for 3 weeks.
Charlie’s questions during uncomfortable situations made me immediately love her as a character and I was rooting for her from the very beginning. At the start of the book you already know that she has some growing up to do and I loved seeing her character develop.
Reese Forster is the starting point guard for the Seattle Thunder. He sounds soooo amazing and literally from the first moment I was introduced to him I was in love! Not only is he great book boyfriend material but he has some baggage of his own to deal with.
This is a friends to lovers, sports romance that had more depth to it than I was expecting. Just know that I was literally bawling my eyes out several times through this book. So, I warn you, you will get all types of feels with this novel. I do wish I had known that going in I would need a box of tissues, but that didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book.
I felt that the emotions and actions Charlie went through and felt were all justified for the things going on in her life. I did at one point want to knock her upside the head to ask her WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?! Because hello… Reese Forster. Enough said.
Overall, I loved this story and the characters. Both Reese and Charlie had a plethora of issues and Tijan gave them plenty of time to work through them and grow. I personally like a romance that handles tough subject matters such as the one presented in this novel. This book really made an impact on me and will be one that I won’t forget.

Another great read from Tijan. It was heavier and more emotional than I expected. Like most of her books it will be one I will enjoy more on a re-read. There is a few little things that bothered me like the fact the heroine didn't want anyone to know they are together (which is the case with most of Tijan's heroines). I think if you enjoy her other NA books you will like this one.

The only think I knew about this book was that it involved basketball somehow other then that I went in completely blind as I tend to do.
Teardrop Shot hooked me in a way I didn’t expect. Charlie, is the heroine in this and I found her awkward and quirky at first. I wasn’t sure what to make of her if I’m being homes but she quickly grew on me. I almost felt as if I could relate to her in a way. Especially in situations where she would find herself uncomfortable and/or embarrassed.
I’m not exactly sure what I would do if I met someone I fangirled over. Charlie’s initial reactions were ones I could picture happening to myself and that alone had me smiling reading this book.
Tijan also kept me on my toes a bit wanting to find out about Charlie’s past. It’s clear that she’s got a heavy weight on her and when it’s revealed my heart dropped a bit for her.
What I loved about this story was the relationship between Charlie and Reese. How it started off, awkward with some cringe worthy moments and how it progressed into a friendship and then something more.
I loved their interactions, and eventually things get steamy and oh man it’s hot. Of course along the way there are a few bumps that had my chest feeling a bit tight. I always love when romance books have some gestures in them especially when things don’t seem to be going the right direction. Let’s call them those “swoon moments”. This story has one that for me was different then from others I’ve read and I particularly loved how it happened. I won’t say too much more then that.
I adored this book and I found myself gobbling this one up in one sitting, which is something I rarely do these days.
Definitely go read rec for those that just love a good romance.

I have been obsessed with Tijan since her Fallen Crest series from day one and seriously will read anything that she writes. Her stories are compelling and addicting and I can not get enough. Reese and Charlie were so well matched. The banter in this story was so well written and it coupled well with the serious aspects of the story.
When Charlie meets her idol, basketball star Reese Forster, she has no idea that her life will be irrevocably changed. Without giving away any spoilers, I liked this story and how deep Reese and Charlie were connected. Being completely truthful here, I loved Reese right away as I found him to be sexy, broody and full of delicious intensity. Charlie on the other hand was a lot to take in. While I understoood her pain and the tragedy in her life, her quirky personality and nature to ask any and every question was very offputting and somewhat distracting from the plot and the meat and bones of the story.
Overall, I was hooked on this amazing story of Charlie finding herself again after cutting herself off from the important people in her life and rebounding from the guilt and pain in her life. Fantastic job! 4 stars! ~Ratula

I really didn't do this story any justice. I was dying to read this and I saw some awesome reviews for it so I started reading it. But I really wasn't in the right mood nor did I have enough time to get invested in this book and it really felt like it needed it.
So I absolutely love the characters and my heart broke for Charlie. Just that every time I started to get into the story real life intruded and pulled me out repeatedly. So I never got the full emotional connection I know I would have if I read it on a quiet weekend when my head wasn't overflowing with drama.
Reese was absolutely perfect. I really couldn't fault him at all and from the very start I was in love. He was so sweet and caring and compassionate and everything about him made me love him more.
So although this was a four star read for me this week I know if i had of held off for the right time this would have been a five star read and I could kick myself for it. But oh well, maybe when I have the time I will reread this.

I honestly have always loved Tijans books, she one of my go to authors when I need pulling out a reading slump and she does just that, when I seen her new book teardrop shot coming out I had the release date in my calendar I didn’t need to read the blurb to know if I would love it….. it’s by Tijan I always love them and for teardrop shot I still stand by that and my god look at the cover 😍 I love it.
I really loved teardrop shot, I laughed, I broke my heart sobbing, then laughed some more. I loved Charlie’s character and the random stuff that she comes out with I found hilarious. Charlie and Reese’s characters are beautiful and I loved there chemistry and Charlie’s crazy questions.
Anyways I’m not going to gush to much but I will say this was a quirky , funny, unique and unforgettable story and just like all of Tijans other books it will be one that I will always be able to re-read❤️

This book broke my heart for a thousand times in thousands of pieces. I have to admit that I was crying two times when I was reading it.
I wasn't ready for this kind of story because I thought that this would one more typical sports romance.
I was wrong.
This was one unique and unforgettable storyline.
Reese and Charlie are so beautiful characters and their chemistry is so real. I went through for their every happy and sad moment they have like it's my own.
They showed that everybody deserves a happy ending and that one bad moment in life doesn't mean the end.
And love always wins.
I can't wait to read another book from Tijan 🙂!

This was everything. I loved every second of reading and could not put this down, even though I had a raging headache I still forced myself to read.
Okay, the first thing I want to talk about is the instant connection Reese and Charlie had. There was never any awkward moment, it literally was just like two people who had known each other forever. Charlie and her questions was freaking hilarious. They both had life rough and damn more characters I wish could be real to give them a hug. The way Reese was actually the sweetest man ever had me swooning. This man could literally do no wrong. The ending was perfectly cute and I already want to reread.

I'll be honest here, I was really afraid after starting this one, that it would end up on my DNF shelf or with a low rating. In the beginning, I just couldn't connect with Charlie's character. To say she was a bit kooky is putting it mildy. But, this is a Tijan book, so I pushed through hoping things got better and I'm so glad I did. A few chapters more, we are introduced to Reese and the whole book changed for me. I was not ready for the emotions that came out in the story. Yes, there were a few giggle moments but it was the emotional/heartbreaking moments that took me by surprise and made me love this book. The issue that Charlie was dealing with was unique and well written. Reese, his character was just....great.
This is definitely going on my re-read shelf and has moved to the top of my favorite Tijan books.

Reread - this is one of my favorite Tijan books. The h is quirky and vulnerable. The H is protective and swoony. The plot is surprisingly emotional. It’s just a great read. 🤷🏼♀️
Bottom Line? This book was missing the tedious navel gazing that tends to bog down Tijan’s books. I really loved it.
