The Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP) and Holland House Colombia, in close cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in Colombia and with the support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), will organize the joint Dutch participation in the 67th ACODAL Water, Waste and Energy Congress, taking place on the 5th, 6th and 7th of June 2024 in Cartagena, Colombia.LocationFor this year, ACODAL has heard the call from the sector and returns to Cartagena for their congress. This is especially beneficial for the Dutch participation as Cartagena is not only eagerly visited by Colombian business people because of its charisma and nice climate, it is also the focal point of Dutch-Colombian cooperation in the water sector. The Water as Leverage program that the Dutch government set up there leads to many opportunities for Dutch companies and a strong positioning in the local sector.Existing cooperation between Colombia and the NetherlandsFor many years, Colombia has been one of the priority countries for the Netherlands, its international cooperation programs and for the Dutch water and energy sectors. Prominent master plans were developed using Dutch knowledge and expertise, and embraced by Colombia. Dutch water companies are active in the country through the involvement of VEI in the IDB Compass program and the bilateral Blue Deal-InspirAgua program, while increased energy demand combined with recent developments in wind and solar energy projects offer opportunities for Dutch companies in the energy sector.As mentioned above, recently the Dutch government set up the Water as Leverage program in Cartagena. This program aims to support Cartagena in the formulation and implementation of environmentally, socially and financially sustainable infrastructure projects that strengthen climate adaptation and urban resilience. The program is in its second year now, having already led to ideas for possible projects and a strong positioning of the Netherlands among relevant stakeholders.Opportunities for Dutch companiesThe vast majority of the more complex water, waste and energy technology is imported. Bent u actief in de agrosector en benieuwd naar de kansen en mogelijkheden die de landbouwsector in Colombia te bieden heeft? Treedt dan in de voetsporen van de ruim 100 Nederlandse bedrijven die u in de afgelopen jaren zijn voorgegaan en meldt u aan voor deelname aan Colombia’s belangrijkste agrobeurs: de Expo Agrofuturo 2024. In de Nederlandse deelname staat de verduurzaming van de belangrijke waardeketens in de relatie tot Nederland zoals tropisch fruit, koffie en palmolie centraal. Denk hierbij aan innovatieve oplossingen voor de volgende sectoren.Inputs (zoals zaden en meststoffen).Voedselverwerking (bijvoorbeeld apparaten om voedsel te verwerken, te verpakken of te etiketteren).Agrologistiek (zoals voor vervoer, behandeling, opslag en klimaatbeheersing).Klimaatslimme agricultuur (zoals met zonne-energie).Kassenbouwtechnologie.Organisaties, bedrijven en kennisinstellingen die de klimaatweerbaarheid groter kunnen maken in de Colombiaanse agrofood en tuinbouw en de productie daar kunnen verduurzamen (economisch en ecologisch) worden aangemoedigd om deel te nemen.23 – 25 oktober 2024De Nederland Lounge op de Expo Agrofuturo wordt georganiseerd door het Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit en de Landbouwraad bij de Nederlandse Ambassade te Bogotá in samenwerking met het Holland House Colombia.Van 23 t/m 25 oktober 2024 vindt de beurs plaats in Bogotá, met naar verwachting 20.000 professionele bezoekers en 400 standhouders uit 30 landen.Agro in ColombiaDe gunstige ligging in Latijns-Amerika, grenzend aan twee oceanen, verschillende agro-ecologische zones, het open handelsklimaat en de rijke cultuur maken Colombia tot een goede partner voor Nederlandse agrobedrijven.Colombia kent een grote diversiteit in geografie, natuurlijke hulpbronnen, klimaat en productieomstandigheden en is daarom in staat om een breed scala van landbouwproducten te produceren. Niet alleen om haar eigen megasteden zoals Bogotá, Medellín en Cali te voeden, maar ook voor export naar de wereldmarkt. Er is nog veel ruimte voor expansie van het landbouwareaal.De FAO omschrijft Colombia als één van de zeven landen waar de landbouwproductie nog toe kan nemen om de wereldbevolking ook in de toekomst te kunnen blijven voeden. Van de beschikbare landbouwgrond in Colombia wordt momenteel minder dan een kwart gebruikt. Colombia raakt meer en meer doordrongen van de noodzaak tot transformatie en modernisering van de landbouwsector. Zeker met het oog op de ambities op export naar de wereldmarkt. Sleutelwoorden daarbij zijn duurzaamheid, betere genetica, nieuwe technologieën & innovaties, automatisering, verbeteren van kwaliteit, verbeteren van efficiëntie en verminderen van verliezen, verbeteren van organisatie en schaalvergroting, en het creëren van meer toegevoegde waarde in de gehele agroketen (van productie tot verwerking en distributie).Het Nederlandse Ministerie van LNV, Holland House Colombia en verschillende Nederlandse bedrijven werken nauw samen met lokale partners om dit te bewerkstellingen.Deelname en kostenDe Nederlandse Ambassade zal i.s.m. het Holland House Colombia een Nederland Lounge van 40 m2 inrichten. Als deelnemer maakt u gebruik van de collectieve Nederland Lounge. Hier zal uw logo zichtbaar zijn, uw bedrijfsvideo’s getoond worden en kunt u gebruik maken van de vergaderfaciliteiten.Kosten hiervoor bedragen € 950,- excl. btw per deelnemend bedrijf. Ook zal er op één van de beursdagen een netwerkreceptie in de Lounge worden georganiseerd. Bij voldoende interesse zullen er ook bedrijfsbezoeken worden georganiseerd op de dag voorafgaand aan de beurs. Deelname van Nederlandse startups in de Lounge wordt aangemoedigd en gezorgd wordt voor aansluiting op het regionale AgStar investeringsplatform.Kosten voor reis en verblijf zijn voor eigen rekening.
