Another day, another Nazi sign, and another condemnation from the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Reporter Chloe Rafferty begins with:
Today, the Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned an anti-Semitic sign posted on a bridge in Moore County, North Carolina.
She then goes on to provide the details of the story, never returning to CAIR again.
It may be because a CAIR press release to the station was the inspiration for the story.
We don’t really know, but let’s be realistic. CAIR does not “stand with the Jews.” CAIR stands with Rashida Tlaib, Ilhan Omar, Zahra Billoo, Aafia Siddqui, the BDS movement, and Hamas. There are just no two ways about this.
We have seen them condemn these signs before. Here’s one. Here is another.
Broadcast mentions of CAIR such as this one also serve to deflect attention away from what CAIR is, what its position is on various issues, and what it wants to do.
CAIR is the American branch of Hamas. A federal judge wrote in his 2009 decision that the government has produced ample evidence of CAIR’s associations with Hamas. Every time “Palestine” enters the news, CAIR gets on TV to take Hamas’ side. You will never find CAIR condemning Hamas for undermining the foundations of apartment complexes, or putting the populace in the crossfire yet again.
Ultimately, CAIR wants to end all U.S. aid and commerce with Israel, so as to isolate the Jewish state in the world community.
CAIR condemned an anti-Semitic sign? Great. Get back to us when it condemns an anti-Semitic imam.
CAIR will pay lip service and commiserate over Jewish misfortunes to build social capital on TV.
As far as CAIR is concerned, that is all this is.
Even the print version of the story leaves out any mention of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Bringing up CAIR in relation to this story is irrelevant and misleading.
There is your news tip.

To me, CAIR is a mystery. https://www.cair.com/about_cair/cair-at-a-glance/ says, “CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties organization”, but I have been unable to find how large CAIR is, either in membership or in annual budget. (What is America’s second-largest Muslim civil liberties organization?) How can one join CAIR? Is there a membership fee? All my email inquiries to CAIR have gone unanswered. Has anyone had better luck in communicating with CAIR?
