L’Oréal Unesco For Women in Science Fellowships | 2023 Call Open

The call for applications for the 2023 L'Oréal Unesco For Women in Science (FWiS) fellowships has opened on 16 January 2023. In line with the international FWiS-programme, the call for applications for the Dutch fellowships is this year extended to include women researchers who finished a PhD three to ten years ago from both the Life Sciences and the STEM disciplines.

The FWiS Programme
The Dutch FWiS fellowship programme is part of a prestigious international programme that is a collaboration between Unesco and L’Oréal. Since 1998, more than 3900 women from 110 countries have received a fellowship or award. The LNVH is (founding) partner of the Dutch L'Oréal-Unesco FWiS-programme, together with Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS-KNAW).

The Fellowships
The Fellowships, two grants of €30.000 each, offer women researchers a stay in a interdisciplinary and international academic environment at NIAS-KNAW in Amsterdam for a period of one semester. Exempted from regular administrative, (and/or) clinical and teaching tasks, the researchers get the opportunity to focus on broadening and deepening their research and writing publications or grant proposals.
Information on the laureates of previous years can be found here.

Application Process and Timeline
Applicants will have to provide a full description of max. 1500 words of the proposed project before the 1st of March 2023. Those who will be awarded with the fellowship can start their period of stay at NIAS-KWAS early September 2023 or early February 2024.
