Identity politics should have been fought and decisively rejected long ago, but Leftists still embrace it wholeheartedly. Its primary weapon is the manipulation of Western guilt for past wrongs. Meanwhile, those same Leftists ignore or downplay the historical evils of Communist and Islamic states, and many on the Right cower in fear. Identity politics has infiltrated all layers of society with weak pushback. This includes the Churches. The Church of England (CofE) now finds itself at a crossroads with the blessing of gay marriage. But why now, all of a sudden? This may have something to do with it: last week, the Association of British Muslims spoke out against the woke agenda infiltrating the CofE’s schools.
Paul Salahuddin Armstrong, Managing Director of the Association of British Muslims (AoBM) expressed his “deep concern”. He said: “The Association of British Muslims is concerned about the lack of open and inclusive discussions regarding the traditional understanding of marriage within faith communities. We are also concerned about the teaching of sexual identity politics in schools, including Church of England schools.”
The woke infiltration of schools, churches, the government, and virtually the whole private sector is nothing new, so perhaps the Muslim outcry is what got the attention of and sparked the latest criticism from the Archbishop of Canterbury. After all, Welby’s priorities are highly questionable when it comes to Christian doctrine and tradition. His concern has been with combatting “Islamophobia.”
Despite the history of jihad, including population jihad, Welby has dismissed Christian concerns about unvetted, open-door immigration, which has seen vast Muslim migration into the UK (largely prompting Brexit). This is often referenced as an “invasion.” Welby has told concerned Christians that the “greater danger is posed by a growing number of atheists, who he refers to as ‘nones.’” While Welby is correct, since the aggressiveness of the irreligious woke is out of control, he is incorrect to dismiss concerns about the UK’s demographics. Welby has also accused Christians of failing to “live up to the ideals of their faith in encounters with Islam.” His insensitivity to Christian encounters with Islam is appalling, as these encounters include recent genocide in Africa and the Middle East.
The Church of England’s and Welby’s “encounter with Islam” last week was about the infiltration of woke ideology in CofE schools. This is certainly happening, and has long needed leadership from the Churches to confront it. Only now, however, is the dhimmi CofE finally feeling “empowered” and paying attention. Perhaps the dhimmi Catholic Church might finally pay attention, too, if Muslims start protesting.
“Archbishop criticises political attempts to ‘force same-sex marriage’ on Church,” Express and Star, February 12, 2023:
The Archbishop of Canterbury has spoken of being “threatened with parliamentary action” in an attempt to “force same-sex marriage” into the Church of England.
Speaking at a global Anglican Consultative Council (ACC) meeting in Ghana, Justin Welby also said that “many” members of the General Synod have “dismissed” his concerns about recent reforms.
The archbishop’s comments come after the General Synod – the Church of England’s legislative assembly – passed a motion to allow the blessing of same-sex couples in civil partnerships earlier this month.
In his presidential address to the 18th plenary of the ACC, Mr Welby said that “rules about sexuality in the Church of England” have been tabled for discussion as a “result” of growing atheism in the UK.
He told those at the meeting, held in the Ghanian capital Accra, that in the global north, Christian values of “community and mutual responsibility” have been “almost eliminated” in favour of “individualism”.
Mr Welby said that when he has been approached by Christians who fear that Islam would “take over Europe”, he told them the “greater danger” is posed by a growing number of atheists, who he refers to as “nones”.
“I don’t mean N-U-N-s,” he said. “I mean those who when asked about their faith, say: ‘None. I have no faith’.
“The result is clear. In the last few weeks, as part of our discussions about sexuality and the rules around sexuality in the Church of England, I talked of our interdependence with all Christians, not just Anglicans, particularly those in the global south with other faith majorities.
“As a result I was summoned twice to Parliament, and threatened with parliamentary action to force same-sex marriage on us, called in England equal marriage.
“When I speak of the impact that actions by the Church of England will have on those abroad in the Anglican communion, those concerns are dismissed by many, not all, but by many in the General Synod.”……

Good for the Archbishop of Canterbury, but please desist from forming any alliances w/ the muslims on this issue. Oppose the onerous LGBTQIA+ transgressions independently of the muslims, but let the LGBTQIA+ and the muslims battle on their own, w/o taking any side. It would be an Alien vs Predator situation: there are reasons to oppose both for different reasons

It is a sad corrupt world when the head of the church instructs his flock to jet jabbed and does not allow the Christians, who put their faith in God, to attend church. Jeremiah 23

Christianity and Islam have no connection whatsoever….Christianity is the Faith of Christ, who is Jewish, who is also the Messiah and Saviour of all creation..
Above all Christianity is love..This modern world is founded on Judeo Christianity..
Islam. Is hate, murder, genocide, rape, cutting of heads, slavery, strife, ..
(Where iin world is there peace and love in ANY muslim country…
And to cap it all Muslims were the first slave traders in Africa, nearly a 1000 years before the first Europeans set in Africa..
The reason why there are no black populations in muslim countries after all these years is that the muslims castrated the black slaves, before putting them on their dhows at Mombasa, Kilwa and Sofala..( Present day Tanzania, Kenya)

Religion fears atheism more than anything else. The archbishop wishes he had access to the Islamic penalty for atheism, or at least Saudi law to define atheists as TERRORISTS!
I resent all religions that are accorded privilege. It’s a sad corrupt world where people who believe in fairy stories are considered ‘better’ than the sane who don’t!

I am a believer in Christ….religious by today’s definition….and I don’t fear “atheism” or “anything else” that humans dream up.
Your dream as an atheist is that we fear you and your false reasonings. You are the type who see what darwin wrote as making you smart.

It is not often I agree with Welby but I do in this. Same sex marriage is an abomination and I will never change my view on it. I also, though an atheist myself, do not see how you can adhere to a religion and disregard one of its basic rules. As for Christians being Christians in the face of Islam, when is the ‘religion
of peace’ peaceful towards Christians or any other faith. Christianity was in earlier times agressive and is now passive towards Islam (see actions of the pope) whereas Islam has always been agressive, (See R. Spencer’s History of Jihad,.a book everyone should read) and continues to be so, murdering and persecuting (see Pakistan and Egypt e.g) Christians almost every week.

I just found these statistics on Gatestone
In 2022 alone, 90% of all Christians around the world who were killed for their faith… were slaughtered in Nigeria. On average, that is 14 Christians killed for their faith every day in Nigeria — at least one Christian every two hours.

‘We cannot walk with you unless you repent,’ African archbishops tell Church of England”
“NAIROBI, Kenya (RNS) — Conservative Anglican archbishops in Africa are challenging a decision by the Church of England to allow clergy to bless same sex couples’ marriages, warning that the move puts the worldwide Anglican Communion in further jeopardy.
“The Church of England is very good at making contradictory statements and expecting everyone to believe both can be true at the same time. That’s what they have done with this decision,” said Archbishop Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu of Uganda in his statement.”
“The Church of England … has now departed from the Bible and their message is the opposite,” said Kaziimba. “They are even offering to bless that sin. That is wrong. As the Church of Uganda, we cannot accept that. God cannot bless what he calls sin.”
